I certainly hope and expect that you are right, but I am sure Luke Dunstan came across with the same thoughts.
Hunter has been a higher calibre player for most of his career, and may be better suited to our side. I highly doubt Dunstan thought he'd slot into a premiership team as a regular with Clarry, Viney and Trac as inside mids

Hunter is no lock. His form has been trending downward, he has behavioural issues, and has lost a step. He gets talked up far too much around here lately. I understand that he would be very handy as a needs fit if he recaptured his better form, but there is little to no evidence of that happening based on 2022.
Expect Jordon to get better too and not want to lose his spot again. Both will be vying for that role in the 22

Had no idea it was his last day when i saw him taking pictures on the boundary yesterday. All the best

My brother used it to see me at Cats Pies. @Clayton spirit didn’t mention it was guarded. He was in M30 and I was at M55 standing room.

Definitely wasn't manned on the weekend

His inability in front of goal is stopping him from reaching Ablett/Dusty heights. Should be breaking games open by kicking 2-3 regularly given his rotations into the forward line

Wow, I must have watched a different game. I thought Harmes was one of our better on ballers. 23 disposals.
Agree, thought Harmes did a great job on the wing and got us going early

It's definitely a win by Brown. I'm not blaming Brown. My criticism is of our one dimensional game plan even when the game is slipping away. It was a bad option. Brown was against 3 Carlton players and we were fortunate that the ball hit a Carlton player in the head.
Our final goal was a result of Lever kicking the ball at right angles into the corridor. Post game, Trac said it was a shocking kick by Lever that came off, but I think Lever had the smarts to realise that Carlton would have been set up down the line.
You look at that kick and his kick v Geelong last year. Very smart footballer

His inconsistency is infuriating ?
He has (per game vs Melksham)
Consistently had more disposals
Consistently more tackles
Consistently more inside 50s
Consistently more contested and uncontested possessions
Consistently more effective disposals
Consistently higher disposal efficiency
Consistently higher 1%ers
Consistently higher tackles inside F50
Seems a bit inconsistent that he isn't in the team when Jake is if you ask me - yes I get they may have played different positions but James Harmes can hit the scoreboard. He has proven to be our best negating player over and over again when asked to do a job. He is the same height and weight as Melksham and personally I'd like to see a direct swapI think Goodwin is a Melksham fan so what we think matters not
Melksham knows his limitations pretty much. Doesn't think he's the star. As a leading mid sized forward I'd definitely take melksham. Harmes can easily pick up 20+ in the middle, yes, and has a better goal sense than Clarry or even Trac, but Brayshaw can get more and make a lot smarter decisions with the footy. Purely in terms of team balance, need of more of a pure forward than pure mid, we take Melksham.
Harmes is stiff, yes, but they are no like for like swaps and it was immediately clear from the bounce v Freo how much better our structure was with Gus

Well going on Goodwin's interview he is happy with Gawn forward so Melksham might keep his spot.
Aside from his kicking he had one of his best forward games. I think we kicked to Brown too often in the second half which made us predictable

Wanna see this guy run away with another premiership cup this year.

Rubbish. At least BBB attacks that ball in marking contests, and makes some effort once it hits the ground. I suggest you watch the replay. Weid was not interested in making second efforts.
I saw him lay good follow up tackle at one stage. I think Weid is a very limited footballer, but I think this was just a very quiet game rather than a very poor one. I'm happy to watch the replay, although to me I can understand why tv coverage would make a quiet game look much worse

So today he was bad, but not significantly worse than last week..... which means he was bad then as well but worse today.
I have never seen a bar set quite so low.
Lets hope his surname inspires Collingwood to do something stupid like offering us a late second rounder for him, because thats the best we can hope for.
He might be a fantastic person, but he aint a key forwards bootlace.
I think Brown would have been no better last night to be fair. I was at the game and saw Weid often more competitive in contested situations than last week. Conditions had a big say.

Loved our midfield mix and the balance of our line up in general. One of Harmes/Sparrow/ANB has to sit, I'm not fussed if Harmes sits again. I would reward this 22 and give Weid another chance

I don't think tonight raises any alarm bells. 1 disposal reads poorly, but saw him presenting well and working hard particularly in the 2nd half. That's not to say it wasn't a poor game , I just didn't feel it was significantly worse than last week

Brown out certainly makes selection easier, if we were going to try the 2 bigs together it wouldn't have been this week

Trying Viney in the defensive forward role again might be worth a shot, just to address the inside 50 tackling. Seemed to make a nice impact there, hard as it may be with him in career best form in the middle lately. Started the season with 5 goals in 5 games too

Jordan with the knee surely is likely to miss???
If so, Lever in, Brayshaw to wing, Salem more dropping off defender
Hunt or Bowey to Sub
There's no way we go with 4 tall defenders, particularly with rain forecast. It's still Lever for Tomlinson for mine

I think Salem is suffering because Angus is playing that interceptor/outlet role. JJ is also playing well on the wing which makes it hard to shift gus back there.
I wonder if Gus could find a place in the forward mid mix, I think his neat disposal could be utilised there.
Could he move into the Harmes-type role I wonder? We seemed to cover for Harmes well at certain points last year

I still believe in us enough that we can knock off freo or Brisbane over there. But yeah, we are not gonna flick a switch and win it out of the top 4. A lot fell into place last year, good health, easy draw after missing finals 2020.
It's a shame we had the 10-0 start to get our hopes up rather than have losses dispersed throughout the year

Would they dare pit us against Freo at the G on Saturday arvo? Or maybe give more time to build that one up
