Just an absurd athlete. Remember watching him live against us and at a neutral game in the same season when he was in his prime and my god, unbelievably agile and back then he looked like he could go from standing to full sprint in a matter of 3-4 steps. All whilst being about 110kg.

If we play Carlton in finals and they have the same tactic of keeping Weitering/ spare a ruckman behind the ball (that locks it in their half) how do you guys think the Dees can overcome this? Seemed like the blues were forcing our long kicks by pressuring the ball handler and being ready to intercept handballs/immediately pressure handball recipients, so what other means do we have tactically?

Genuine question: is their something rude or offensive about that meme? I’m confused

After watching most of the other games on the weekend, I am confident none of the other teams would’ve been able to have withstood how good Carlton was playing let alone only JUST lose. That’s the best I’ve seen Carlton play for decades. The score was even at 3/4 time even though their pressure rating was red lining the entire time and the ball had basically lived in their forward 50 for 1 1/2 quarters. Any other team would’ve been down by 3-4 goals AT LEAST. They threw the kitchen sink at us and we withstood it. If anything, the way Carlton set up behind the ball thus locking it in their F50 has given us a look out how they will play us if we meet in finals. To which, I’m pretty confident our coaching staff won’t allow the same thing to happen again. Our form is great, Carlton are in a purple patch for now… We’ll see what happens in finals I guess.

I saw a segment on this a few years ago (can't remember which club it was) but players wore headphones that had recordings of a few grand final crowds on an extended loop.

Marchbank said in an interview after the game that is touched his fingers which when you see the side on vision of the ARC, the ball misses his hand completely. So yeah, we were robbed.

Ball wasn't touched by the Carlton defenders hands, that's for sure. Kicking was woeful at times tonight and Carlton looked like they were playing in difference conditions to us, by how good their field kicking was. Easy to say our kicking was affected by the conditions but it didn't look like Carlton was that affected by the conditions, so why were we? Smith over Hibbo in the backline seemed a mistake. Hibbo should've played the whole game and Smith in the forward line. JJ needs a rest. Salem can't make a 45 meter kick? Seriously?

Right in this game when we absolutely shouldn't be. Carlton playing as good a footy as they can and we are playing average... yet we're only down by 2 points! Get some players to lift and we got this.

How could a team dominate like this and only kick their second goal with 5 minutes to half time? Strange game
