That’s rubbish, I hate Essendon as much as the next person but they definitely deserved pick 7 for Daniher and they lost a top 5 player at their club in Saad

    LOL

Daniher has barely gotten on the field in 3 years.  Was worth pick 20 at most.  His body is shot to bits.

If Saad is worth a top 10 pick what is Salem worth?  Top 3?

  2. Wow.  Another rich club gets another government handout when they already have a home base.

Meanwhile we still don't have one.

And why are they calling it  the 'Daniel Andrews State Government '?  It doesnt belong to that lunatic.  Must have been part of the deal to get the funds.

Would love it if he could use his pace more, kick straighter and run harder defensively. But he's doing pretty well the way he is

He did the first one this season...  used it to break away from packs and get clear for the kick.  Was a nice evolution in his game.

He needs to kick goals. He really should be kicking 15-25 goals a season and resting forward, alternating with Petracca.

Thats Goodwins fault though, not Olivers.

In Knightmare’s draft, Melbourne’s pick #18 turns out to be #23:-

    23. Melbourne - Sam Berry
    Height, Weight: 181cm, 83kg
Profile: Winning a high proportion of the ball in contested situations, Berry plays with aggression and tackles strongly. He balances the aggression with acceleration out of stoppages, reliable distribution by hand, composure with ball in hand and precise kick placement out in front of leading inside 50m targets.

Pick 23.. jesus.   So we gave up our 1st rounder next year for picks 23 and 24 then.

  5. Rather than trading the picks and moving up I think id prefer to keep picks 18 and 19 and take whatever talent slides.  We could potentially get two great kids that should have gone top 10.

There will be mistakes made between picks 1-17 and we can seriously benefit from this.  We need depth on our  list so this is a prime opportunity for us.

WA had close to a full junior season.  11 game season as opposed to the usual 15 + finals. 10 games H & A with top 2 playing the GF.

There was 8 game WAFL Colts + finals.

WAFL Development Squads had their trials for u/14 & 15s squads across the 9 WAFL clubs with final squads selected.  Each WAFL development squad played 2 matches against other WAFL development squads in their relevant year group

Thanks  for the info.  Makes sense there would be a lot of SA and WA kids in the draft then.  VIC kids missed a whole year of development.

Jurrah is the most freakish footballer I have ever seen.  Jakovich was the definition of mercurial, and Schwartz was just a bloody good footballer that we never saw close to the best of (which is a scary thought).

The three players you mentioned have skill sets that I just don't think Jackson should be mentioned in the same breath as.

If you are looking for the best comparison, then try Grundy (Collingwood), but I think LJ might have a couple of extra things in his arsenal than Brodie, which is what makes LJ a super exciting prospect.

Wasn't looking at a player comparison,  was just talking talent wise.  Of course LJ isnt a natural forward like those other 3 guys.

LJ blows Grundy out of the water on talent and ability.  Grundy is the most overrated player in the comp imho.. doesn't have any matchwinning ability or X factor. In fact hes bloody boring, unlike LJ who will have people paying to come watch him.

100% this. I was down at EFFC last week and spoke with someone who has stayed in contact with LJ. He’s apparently very happy at the club and has no intention of returning home. People like to stir the pot and create false rumours to make themselves feel important.

Would be shattering to lose LJ.    He a Jurrah-Schwarz-Jakovich level talent.

Next season cant come fast enough.

I remain bullish about Tom. At his best he’s easily best 22. The club could flip forward craft on its head playing 4 talls. Jackson, Brown, Tom, Weideman. Is that even possible?

The opposition would run it out of our backline at will.  We would get slaughtered.

Tom needs to make it his aim to take back the CHB position.

Both clubs have announced 40 & 36 mill upgrade of their training base whilst the Mfc will continue to train in a paddock & Casey. Pert declared by 2024 we will have a home base but we just continue to be left behind and we have the worst training facilities in the league now!

After all these years we still don't have a home base....   the only team without one.

The #1 reason we are still searching for a flag.
