Tonight's the night when we flick the magic switch. Lions by 45.
-
Endeavor seems pretty good to me. But we’ve got problems. (All documented previously)
-
Jarlsberg? More like Comte

Bad kicking loses matches. Missing easy goals, especially set shots can be damaging on so many levels. kills momentum, esp with the 6/6/6 rule, where you can get on a run. Gives the possession back to the opposition (kick out), where they can control tempo for a bit. Hurts morale esp with multiple missed shots, and then the team has to get back on the horse doing lots of defensive running. going coast to coast for a 12 pt turnaround is even worse. Happened at least twice last night. Get the few easy ones, St Kilda wins that, no problem. Like us vs Collingwood.

I’ve never seen lamp as a verb - love it!
-
To be fair, Collingwood’s a poor man’s Collingwood.
-
Well I’m guessing it’s because Freo plays WC and GWS in final two rounds and would go ahead of us. Swans will probs win their 2, and may only need to win one if we lose one. I mean, the Pies may lose to the Blues in final round but it’s not looking like it
-
Quite a few Pies supporters in our area (N49) last game - annoyed the hell out of me (mainly because we lost). Personally I don’t have a huge problem with letting others use your tix…but curious to hear others’ thoughts…
-
To be fair he didn’t give the finger, he waved his arm as if to say “turn it up!” Which was quite funny actually. But agree dog act to knee Max. I really wish our players had brought more heat in response to theirs.
-
Just saw the incident for the first time - he went at him full momentum not even thinking about the ball. If he appeals and gets less than 2 weeks I’m going to burn the MCG to the ground.
-
That was an epic chase - was traveling 3 times faster than the ball carrier
-
and then he'll have to drink Hibbo's bathwater?
-
Yep - Covid is peaking for the year. but we’ll be coming down from the slopes (of Daylesford) to watch this one. Should be a cracker.

Geelong itself is a hole, but it does have the beaches nearby.
-
I think he must have meant ‘Gah!’ - yes, ‘Bah, humbug!’ or in modern usage, ‘Bahahaha’, or my personal fave, ‘Bwahahaha!’ for that extra hint of derision.
-
Ginnivan such a good young player. Really needs to stop playing for frees as his first thought every time.
-
I think what some people are forgetting about last season, is that we had an injection of young talent into the team - especially towards the end of the season, with Bowey debuting and doing very well. It massively (stop saying massive) injected energy into the rest of the playing group. I agree with those calling for one or more of Smith, JVR and Chandler to be brought into team. New/unseen talent also makes it harder for opposition teams who have "worked us out". Happy to eat my words (or my cake that I've already had) if we win with no changes this week.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Spargonicus replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Actually think he’s been great until that huge knee on the back in the 3rd. -
Agree wholeheartedly with most commenters that Daisy is insightful. Additional contentious opinions: - BT, while fairly ignorant, is hilarious - not always, maybe even only occasionally, but in my opinion, worth it just for the lulz. But then, I appreciate the absurd. - (don’t hate me!) Leigh Matthews, despite being another former legend, like Carey, is a woeful commentator. Every time states the bleeding obvious. Seriously, I could do better.
-
The occasional spark, mostly Kozzie - a star - but we seem down on basic confidence and dare. Still waiting for the Demons bulldozer to start up…it’s possible but hard to replicate a finals run like last year.
-
True but wouldn’t have happened if Trac hadn’t shanked his kick. Too many errors.
-
Jeez, our forward craft is a shambles at the moment.

What They Are Saying at Alberton Oval
Spargonicus replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm at the point where I'm genuinely not sure which Melbourne we'll get this week. So many competing factors and theories. - loading, of course (are we upping it/scaling back this week?) - is our forward line (and delivery) going to click into gear like we know it can? (esp. out of centre bounces ala GF), or will it remain impotent... - will Port bring the heat? Will we? Or have our players lost a bit of hunger? - will our younger players find their form again? Will BBB? Will Weids step up? In short, how much is our fluctuating form to do with a combination of these factors vs. the simplicity of hunger and intent? Our injury list is pretty damn good, so assuming we're now heading out of loading phase, and with a longer break between games, I can't see that we'll have any excuses from a physical perspective (barring hidden flu/covid cases). Time to bring it. -
Thanks guys. With my ongoing issues of insomnia (not related to my MFCSS, I promise), I really appreciate these podcasts - more than ever! Appreciate the general positivity of the Dees outlook too. Although, having said that, if our decline continues, I hold you all responsible.
