Thanks Demon Dynasty for posting this.
I quite enjoy them.
I'm actually more worried about this game than the last one.
I guess because Crows are so desperate for a win.
And although the umpires were half decent last round, I can't see it happening twice.
I'm also worried about the five day break given we played it hot conditions and have not a few injuries.
If we come back from SA with eight points I won't whinge about Gather round. Unless we lose over there next year.
Hoping to get over there one year. Despite the Port fans, SA is a beautiful state.
This.
Ive been more worried about this game than port. I think it’s because port was 50/50. This game we should really be winning which the old Melbourne in me goes ‘this is the game we are meant to win and won’t’ 😂-

I’d love to know what goes on in our minds sometimes…
’handball to running players feet’ tick
-
Have a feeling umpires will try even up the tally this half.
we really need to be careful and make sure we take full advantage going forward

Zero team connection thus far
-
Out - May and Lever (if knee is no good)
In - Fullerton Hore
Backline - rivers tmac HowesHore Petty Mcvee
I’d have Fullerton rucking around the ground and have Gawn down back IF our backs are struggling with contested marks.
Brown and JVR need to stay forward now if petty is down back. Really need Fullerton to have a good vfl game for some confidence. Our mids need to really work both ways (aka like Trac against Lewis) which won’t help with a 5 day break. I’d have Windsor play a full game this Week but give woey a chance against Adelaide (if he plays well in vfl) and give him a break then.
with a 5 day break between port and crows this is a great chance for our vfl players to get into best 22 against Adelaide I reckon as some may not pull up as well as usual. -

I feel sorry for the people that used to enjoy a drink late in the game standing by the window watching the game.
Assume the media area is to replace the media area that used to be outdoors on level 4 above.
This. Sad it’s gone.
I’m pretty sure either Thursday or Friday nights game was still up on level 4 for media… so strange

Good post Dgirl !
It is a terrible set up and destroyed what was usually a good game day atmosphere.
We members/supporters have been [censored] around just to accommodate the media.
it’s so bad.
nothing like having a few drinks by the bar watching the boys come out for a warm up… the mcg lights booming through the windows whilst inside.
You feel trapped in there.
i found a chair I am assuming was for security but I took it to give to my grandmother who was really struggling to stand for long.-

Random thread I know haha
Anyone here sit on level two olympic stand?
what do you think of the new lay out with the bar moved and media rooms put in?Heard a few older people having a hard time getting up on the stools as there is no seats for them inside. Including my own grandmother who couldn’t get up on the stools. We tend to get there with a lot of time before the first bounce and because of the heat we didn’t want to head out to our seats straight away. I find it all strange
personally hate it.

Really need Ben brown to have a good game because Petty is no where near ready. Worries me if he kicks 0 this week and doesn’t even look half decent

Could they get Moniz-Wakefield to get skilled up as a backman?
Honestly if no one else can do it then no harm in trying haha

Cannot think of anyone else who knows the backline system, and bringing in another green player alongside Howes could throw it out of kilter.
Agree totally about his kicking as a mid, and I really would want him to play on the ball. Who else at this stage can take on the small opposition forwards?
Unfortunately not many would know it. I didn’t realise how we don’t have many/if any replacements for opposition small forwards

I think they will keep Laurie in as they continually used him as a linking player in the sims, though would love to see Tholstrup in.
Chandler was quiet but Goody seems to favour him.
Spargo out, Salem back, kossie mid/forward.
Fullaton has to be a chance to replace Schache.
Salem needs to be kicking it i50
such a waste down back for me!
If Tholstrup is ready I reckon we take the chance. Probably safer option with someone like Woey but I’m just so keen to see how Tholstrup goes

l don't recall him playing in the practice match or match sim. I thought the days were gone rushing back players particularly if they are the fringe type.
Yep he certainly did not play any other games prior to Sydney…
Had me wondering why they’d pick him. Was he underdone? If so, why would you risk him? I don’t get it, although I don’t get half the stuff Goodwin does haha

Yes, he has looked ready as soon as he started with us.
They must be working on him understanding the roles.
Great that he had a few centre bounces with Clarry in the Casey games. Can only help his development.
Today he was hitting his targets and no fumbling, all the new young ones have improved the standards at training. The only ones showing some rust, were Melk and Farris-White. Sestan was getting plenty and finishing well in the less defenders sims. Jefferson couldn't get into the sims game, looks lost and needs support on where to position himself. Adams blanketed Fritta during sims.
Really hoping Adams makes it.
would love it against a team who we wouldn’t have to worry about as much defensively for Adams to come in and send may forward (can always sub adams out and put may back if need be)
