  1. I think we definitely needed a change and I'm all for cleaning out the list and making some tough calls on stalwarts like May and Petracca but I just can't see what the plan is to replace these guys with A-graders. Does King think that we have the talent already on the list? That would be the easiest solution but I just can't see us going far with what we've got at the moment. We don't seem capable of enticing any free agents of great quality (sorry Mihocek, I'm sure you'll be serviceable), apparently the draft this year is quite shallow and we currently don't have any good picks in there anyway, and when Tassie comes in, forget about it. Not to mention, we'll be paying out Oliver's salary if he goes for years to come and players like Gawn and Viney probably only have a couple of good years left. It looks like we're jumping off the cliff and hoping to make a parachute on the way down. I'd love to hear a sensible plan for where we go from here.
  2. Adding the likes of Hardie, Bonner, Campbell and Smith instantly changed this Casey team. Terrific recruiting in the off-season.
  3. We are so lucky to have had Gawn for so long. I fear for what this team will look like without him
  4. Might be an unpopular opinion but as much as I'd love to see Kentfield or Brown get a go next week, Casey kinda has more to play for at this point. With two dead rubber games to go for the seniors, why bother messing with a team that needs the momentum going into finals? Is it worth a call-up for 1 or 2 games? Maybe? Maybe not.
  5. Melky is such a skilful player
  6. Maxy's cracked the code. Watch out other teams!
  7. Well this isn't going well!
  8. That's been the most frustrating thing about Melbourne in the last few years. IF we play like that we would beat most teams, but then we tend to just not play like that. It's anyone's guess whether we get the good Melbourne or the disappointing one next week and probably every week for the rest of the season.
  9. Lots of hammy twings this week. I head some commentator say something about the sudden cold weather being a factor and I'm not sure how much is in that but maybe it's not such a bad thing we're playing up in QLD today. It feels like we're finally getting our best 22 back on the park so hopefully we can keep a clean bill of health, even if we drop this game.
  10. I like the way Mr. beelzebub thinks
  11. I don't think it's hyperbole to say it's probably the worst game we've ever played, considering the occasion. Hopefully we come up with a solution because Geelong will have a very clear game plan next week.
  12. Ah all good. Thanks for clarifying!
  13. Typo aside, are you sure this is still the case? Last year you had to "buy" a free ticket so your card was active in order to get in (because of COVID and stuff) but it seems that is no longer necessary. All tickets are $10 now and seem to be just for reserving your seat. According to the MCC website, "Members will be able to reserve a seat on Levels 1, 2 and 4 of the Membersโ€™ Reserve via Ticketek. Any unallocated reserved seating will be made available as unreserved seating on the match day on a first-in, first-served basis, subject to capacity and availability". To me it sounds as though you can just walk in and find a seat if there are any still available without buying anything.
  14. Gee Hunter can get amongst it!
  15. Terrific win! Go dees!
