I love that he kicks so well off both feet. The kid is going to be a gun. It will be interesting to see if he ends up a mid, when he puts on some size

Just keep posting what ever you hear LN I love your work
Its a forum right?Rumours are an important part of our combined theatre
Gee if we were limited to known facts properly sourced and double checked no body would post anything
Lighten up and enjoy the place for what it is

Hopefully we can sign both Rivers & Jackson before the start of next season, so that they (& the club) don’t have it hanging over their heads, and they can just concentrate on playing footy.

Brown for the 2nd from the Hawks I would do

Very happy. Had he kicked straight this year we would be in the finals.

Great news. Two kids with good potential imo. Would have been annoyed to loose either one. Hopefully they step up next year.

Before our last game, I talked to someone, who is closer than most to the Pies, & he raised Tom’s name. I laughed and said you can have him for a 4th or 5th round pick, and that he obviously doesn’t watch a lot of Dees games. Later on I thought maybe I shouldn’t have said that. He also went on to say how good Dunn had been for them. I know it sounds crazy, with the Pies needing cap space, but this is what I heard.

Can you clarify, Oliver and who else has he drafted. We haven't had a rising star nomination for 2 years
We haven’t had a 1st rounder in those 2 years

anyone else getting some Liam Ryan vibes from this Pickett kid in the way he moves and plays?

I still can’t see us taking Pickett at 10, despite what has been reported. Weightman maybe. I would rather Stephens if available, and a small forward at 28. Hopefully we split 10 & get Weightman/Pickett & someone else, or both of them.

Told by a source who I trust. Was told about Jackson before it came out in the press.
The club, from what I can understand, are leaning to Jackson, but are not 100%.
They are also undecided on who they would prefer from that next bunch of players, and seems as though they are happy to gain any number of them, thus the pick swaps, but they seem to think that stephens will be the one available then for whatever reason.
They do want a small forward and rate both weightman and Pickett highly, but I can’t see them taking Pickett at 10, possibly Weightman.
Are you suggesting we may be leaning a bit towards Green? I hope you are right about Stephens. I have always thought we were going to take Weightman with our second pick, even when we had 8. Jackson/Green, Stephens & Pickett would be the dream result, but I don’t think Pickett will get through to 28.

I will put what little money I have, and although I know the recruiters are excited by the prospect of Pickett, there is no chance we are taking him at 10.
I have been told Jackson’s 3, they believe Stephens at 10 (or someone who slides) and possibly Pickett at 28.
“Told” by who? The Dogs have been keeping an eye on him for some time too. I wonder if they might take him at 13?

DeGoey grew & really filled out after being drafted. There was no way of knowing that would happen. Roos suggested that if he had known this would happen, the Dees may have drafted him.

I think there's still some moving parts, so not sure it would mean he's a top 10 pick (could be reliant on the Geelong pick swap), just know the club is keen on picking him up at the appropriate spot.
LN, do you think a trade with Geelong (or GC), might go down today?
-
Ever since we got 8, I have been convinced we were going after Weightman. The drop to 10 would suggest that. And the potential spit of 10 would suggest that too. We have been after a small forward since we looked at trading Butters in at last years draft. I think we are trading to fill a need, in this instance.

I wonder if they would do 10 for 15 and 20. There was talk they might not even use their pick 20. Or was this scenario having us including 28?
Then we could look to use 20 and 28 to see if it's possible to move back up.
They only mentioned trading 10

It’s pick 10 now. So that would be a trade with Gold Coast then. I wonder who we’re targeting with those picks.
Can effectively rule out any of Young/Ash/Stephens and probably Kemp will be gone by then too.
Kemp and Weightman would be ideal with 15 and 20.
Sorry, just to be clear, I did mean pick 10 ?

Cal was on SEN today, saying that we might split 10 today or Wednesday. He mentioned for 15 & 20. Not sure how to feel about that. I have to assume we get Weightman at 15?

From the Herald Sun:
"The Demons are also looking to trade their no.10 choice for two picks, which could come in the teens and early 20s."
Says leading contenders for our 10 are Geelong, Port & Gold Coast"..
-
Herald Sun are reporting that we are now going to split 10!

So now that we have pick 10, who do we think we are targeting? For me it's still Cody Weightman, although I'm sure others will disagree.

I hate to say it, but I think we have been fairly set on Weightman all along, and we know we can get him 100% at 10. IMO this explains todays trade too. We tried to trade up for Butters last year too (lucky we didn't as it would have cost us 3), and since then we have been after a small forward of note.

I'm going to have a stab at the 1st round, including possible pick swaps. This is highly uneducated and largely guess work with some help from reading various phantom drafts and tidbits about who clubs are looking at. Pick swapping adds a whole new dimension and difficulty to predicting how this will unfold.
Some points that affect my phantom draft order
- Nil bid on Green by Melbourne at 3 allowing GWS to have a selection before he gets bid on.
- Melbourne trading pick 9 to port for Pick 13 and 19.
- Carlton Bidding on Henry at pick 10
- Matt Rowell (GC)
- Noah Anderson (GC)
- Luke Jackson (MELB)
- Lachie Ash (GWS)
- Tom Green (GWS - matching Sydney bid)
- Hayden Young (SYD)
- Fischer McAsey (ADE)
- Sam Flanders (FRE)
- Dylan Stephens (PORT)
- Liam Henry (FRE - matching Carlton bid)
- Caleb Serong (CAR)
- Deven Robertson (HAW)
- Brodie Kemp (MELB)
- Miles Bergam (WB)
- Josh Worrell (GEEL)
- Trent Bianco (GC)
- Will Day (PORT)
- Jay Rantall (GEEL)
- Cody Weightman (MELB)
- Trent Rivers (RICH)
That would be a dream result. I doubt Port will swap us those picks for 8 though, and I bet we draft Weightman with the earlier pick, just to make sure we get him. Also wouldn’t be surprised if Kemp was gone by then. I like it though.

Again, Melbourne are YET to make a decision at 3 and 8. Just doing what all clubs do around this time and just chase up more information and background checks.
You blokes are reading way too much into this.
I just don't think that, with 10 days till the draft, you can state that there is no chance that we have locked in who we want at 3. It is possible, that's all I'm saying.
