  1. Haha. I think i need to drink my coffee and wake up properly
  2. unless they favor us ?
  3. Horses for courses
  4. The only reason the umpiring decisions were a factor is because Brisbane kicked themselves out of the game. Daniher can’t kick. Hipwood lethal from 50 out on the boundary but can’t nail his regulation shots. Brisbane have grown soft playing at home for a year against tired Hub teams. I don’t think they play finals this year. Geelong will win most of their games down there but they’re not to be feared and will win no premiership this year or next for that matter. From a Dees perspective I would take great heart watching that game last night. We should beat them in Round 4. May handles Hawkins. Match them on the inside and use the wide open spaces of the G to tire out their old legs.
  5. Seems I put the mozz on the umpires! My remark was in response to the frees the Brisbane forwards were getting. Not normally given down there. I think blatant throwing started after my post. Selwood goal was a throw, no doubt. Didn’t bother watching the last quarter but judging by the rest of this thread it seems there were some more controversial decisions.
  6. Can't say the umps have been favoring the home team tonight
  7. Geelong not a team to fear. I'm chalking us down for the win in round 4.
  8. or Hipwood
  9. John Ralph reported just before the men's game started that the Lions women would fly down tomorrow. The women have been in a quasi bubble so are exempted from the isolation requirement.
  10. Goldrick a big loss but great to have Downie back to compensate. Hopefully she can regain sharpness quickly and be ready for finals.
  11. St Kilda were gritty last week, hung in there and capitalised when GWS choked. That will give them confidence but make no mistake they were second best for most of the game and should have lost. It was an energy sapping slog as well and they have one less day to recover compared to us. Let’s not talk them up too much. This is a very winnable game. They have an impressive array of small forwards for sure but we nullified them last year without too much difficulty. We have them well and truly covered in the big man stakes, ruck and midfield. We will win the lions share of possession and as long as we do the basics well, our mids get on the same wavelength as Gawn, decent delivery into our forwards and straight kicking, we will win. Gawn, Viney, Trac and Fritsch to the fore. May/Tomlinson to keep Membrey/King quiet. Dees by 4 goals
  12. Very true
  13. Great post. Plenty of time on your hands i guess. What’s the vibe like over there. I’ve family in Ireland who are very fed-up with lock-downs and restrictions. If you can’t be confident after a win then when can you be. Our midfield will win the lions share of possession tonight. Reasonable I50 delivery and straight kicking will see us home. Membrey is the danger man. I think he’s a job for Steven May. King is back this week for them but I reckon he’s under-done so perhaps Tomlinson can mind him. Go Dees
  14. The timeframe for BB's return seems to creep up with each injury update. At the moment he's listed to return in dreaded 4-6 weeks bracket so he may not be match fit when we play them in round 9. The Weid is listed at 2-4 so he should be up and running. I reckon he’ll be vying with TMac for a spot in the team given LJ is ruck relief for Gawny. If TMac continues to play like he did against Freo he’ll be hard to dislodge.
  15. Looked like it. Both his and gibbons goal should have been chalked off
  16. Jones is a liability at the back for Carlton. BB will fill his boots when we play them.
  17. Great tackle Adams. Reckon he'll get the 3 votes tonight.
  18. Relax Macca. I’m not having a pop at you. Each to their own. That first half had a training drill vibe to it. You won’t see that in finals. Enjoy the rest of the game.
  19. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. A little more pressure for mine. I’m glad you’re enjoying the game Macca.
  20. Entertaining game to watch and I’m sure enjoyable for the players. Reminds me of an all-star game, ball zipping around the G, bruise free footy, good goal-kicking practice. Neither of these teams play finals this year.
  21. If Jamie Elliot wasn’t so unfortunate with injuries he’d be talked about as one of the best small forwards. Great hands and reliable kick for goal. Hopefully the injury not too serious. He deserves some luck.
  22. Not sure clayton would improve Carlton’s defensive pressure ?
  23. The pies will beat Adelaide. They’re a much better team. Plus they risk dropping out of the Top 2 if they lose so they can rest on their laurels. agree Freo will beat North
  24. True. Still, even without much pressure, we can't deliver like that
  25. Collingwood forward 50 entries very good. Hitting the forward's chest everytime.
