Talking up the social nature of the game before each event on this and the other forums is important. And, since one fixture a few years ago, when both sides thought the quality of the umpiring could have affected the result, we also now secure independent umpys from the VAFA and empower them to send off players for over-aggressive tackles, dissent etc.

I did not see the incident but I have read about it on the other sites... our guy got the free kick for holding the ball?? was the free kick reversed by the umpys?? was our guy sent off by the umpys?? let me know and I will take this up with the organisers on the other sites...

I didn't see or hear about an incident on Sunday, but it is all over the other forums... second the regrets and the wishes for speedy recovery, nsfc15... also, apologies to tassie dee, I was supposed to post yesterday. some points from me:- glenferrie oval is a dust bowl, you may as well play on concrete, why not the immaculate and lush surface of gosch's paddock ?? invitations to tigers and blues to play on october 10 were withdrawn after sainters assured the rest of us they would field a full team, so I would be dubious about organising a one-on-one clash with the sainters, especially given that they have been struggling for numbers for some years and their long-time organiser, Harveys Desciple, has not been heard from for some time... if HD were to re-surface and promise a full team, that would cause me to re-think...
