hey, S475.. I remember 2006... we had a list of 23... 11 guys had turned up by the bounce... saintsational loaned us 7 quality players, 3 of whom were amongst our best on the day... it was our only loss in the history of forum footy and we swore we would never be complacent again... so the pm's, texts and emails will be going out to all our former players this weekend... if we can put 2 teams on the park, good... if not, having too many players is better than being complacent...

hey, wise... look at all the new faces in the team !! (I haven't called the troops yet)... new faces can read about captain wise (aka wise monkey) by searching "forum footy" on the site... He played in our very first game, has captained most games, and we will (hopefully) see him again on his visits back to Aus... Wise, game after this will probably be february next year, does that suit ??

It's hard to measure this, S475, with so many posters posting on both sites. This time, I am only putting the team list on here, and will add any demonologists who don't post on here myself. Can somebody post details of the game on the big footy site before they accuse me again of forgetting them ?? (can never find my way onto that site myself)...

apart from our first year (obviously), I can't think of another year when we have had so many new faces... last game, talkingcarlton let us down (turning up with 3 players) so we played a game between demonland and demonology... can't quite remember who won... we may be able to field two teams again in this round robin, because there has been no interest from talkingcarlton, puntroadend or saintsational... I will be talking to the hawks, but not until their finals campaign has ended (and they haven't played forum footy for 5-7 years)... if we can't field two teams again, that's not such a bad result, because it will mean a true round robin, with each team playing every other team...

sorry to hear that, sam... there have been a couple of serious knee injuries over the years, and a shoulder... nobody takes it seriously enough to want to deliberately inflict injury... but even playing kick to kick in the backyard, there are risks in any contact sport... if you decide to help instead of play, we have plenty of jobs available...

hey, wonna, we refuse to allow posters to play if they are above amateurs standard, the other sites don't... we give priority to posters, the other sites don't... have a look at the posts on bomberblitz... the angst is about the fact that we win all the time... and the reason we win all the time is that we are organised with coaches, helpers and administrators who work tirelessly to publicise these games to our posters... every time we play another forum, I will bet you that the other side has many more non-posters than we do... as I keep telling the guys on the other forums, repeating these lies (about where our players come from) time and again does not make them true... the huge majority of our players are posters on demonology and/or demonland... why do you think otherwise? (or don't you rate us demonologists?) would be interested to hear from you (and you can send me a pm if you like)... regards, rollo

No, we are much more organised than that... once the date is approved by our leadership group, we will start an official game thread and organise the team by email, text and pm...

usual start time is 11am... but bomberblitz hoping to arrange a round robin involving pies and blues... if that happens, the games will go to 3pm or so...

haven't had to explain forum footy for a few years... basically, all afl teams have unofficial forum footy sites like demonland and demonology... the scum have bomberblitz, the saints have saintsational etc... some 5 or so years ago, saintsational challenged us to our first inter-forum match, and we have been dominating forum footy since then against all comers... we play a real footy game on a real footy ground (often gosch's paddock) with professional umpires etc... highest quality players come from the amateurs, but there is always room for supermercado to re-injure himself... it's a fun day, and a chance to catch up with other demonologists and demonlanders, and to meet people from the opposition sites who, it turns out, are footy tragics like us but just wearing the wrong colours...

now, now, jack... that way lies madness... can't play without our coach... what about the following sunday, october 23 ??

don't want to talk about the season... can't spell a trow shus... just want to see our forum boys in red and blue dominating the opposition... bomberblitz have suggested sunday, october 16... what do we think about the date ??
