So you're starting to understand then it seems...
-
Went to a prelim with him.
-
Most of those guys pushed into the 22 this year.
-
SO what you're saying is we should have 40 players in our best 22 then?
-
Small forwards - what are our trading and draft options?

That window has been deadlocked shut for 55 years, and I truly hope none of the players or staff think the 'window is ajar' as there's no chance they break the longest drought in football without a massive shift in attitude throughout the club.

I believe he actually said Melbourne have made informal enquiries.
-
IMO Fritsch could more be a replacement for Joel Smith as the 3rd forward who jumps on everyone, especially given Shaun's comments during the year and Joel yet to re-sign.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.

More improving their depth, just like we're doing with adding players who aren't A graders. Will be great for their culture and standards up there too. Good move for them IMO. -

Definitely gone. -
Goody on SEN: “He’s an incredible player and I think we’re one of many clubs that would be interested in Jamie,” “We think he’s got a lot of talent and he’s someone we’ll pursue. Like many clubs, we’d love him at our footy club.”

Ahhhh I get it. Silly me hey, still getting to know who the trolls are.

Where did you hear that mate?
-
What? Are you from Melbourne mate? This is from google maps:

Report: Betts tells Carlton he wants return in 2020

Sam Edmund reporting Ellis will join GC on 600k a year.

Yeah, look I'm not keen on it personally, I just it as a viable solution. In saying that, it would only be if (as mentioned above) it was developed into an actual stadium with legitimate elite facilities, with a big financial backing from state government and local council.
-
Not sure I agree as you could apply that kind of logic to any scenario. Going to the draft - Goodwin's rebuilding, he's admitted defeat! Going for a superstar - Goodwin's putting all his eggs in one basket, saviour syndrome again! Going for depth - He's gambling with our future! Bit of a no-win situation for him when people adjust the narrative to suit their own bias.

Yeah, not potting any of those blokes, just more making a comment about how Tomlinson improves us.
-
Yeah, but it seems relatively quiet in general on that front, at least from what I've seen in the media. I know they usually let them know in August, so maybe it's just still getting past all the obstacles of finals, post-season holidays and interviews etc.

Things have cooled somewhat, not sure if it's due to the Hawks waiting on Burns, but possible. Yze is contracted for next year, he's in the middle of a 2 year contract, but as mentioned earlier, teams let assistants leave for a promotion (which could be another factor). Word is he thinks the list is in a good place and from the outside there's some obvious answers to our problems currently, so I think he's still very much considering the move in a positive way.

Wouldn't put the NRL and A-League in the same category as the AFL in terms of being an elite level sport IMO. How have the other tenants, the Dees and the Rebels gone?
-
I've been there mate. Sure the actual facilities are not at Arden St in the 90s levels, but compared to other clubs we are a long way behind AND most importantly we share it all with at least 3 other sporting clubs. It's simply not good enough. Ideally Casey is not the answer. But we've gone decades without a true base and nothing has been properly resolved. We were told we would have a new base lined up by the end of 2018, it's still not even close.

Tomlinson>ANB, Stretch, Wagners, JKH, OMac, T.Smith, Lewis, KK, vB, Petty and more. It's an improvement for us. That's all that matters. Not every recruit has to be "elite".
-
Fair enough mate. I guess we just see it differently. Personally I would prefer the little bit of extra travel if it meant using elite facilities as opposed to training on a public park, sharing everything with other sports and not having the offices in the same building. I can understand what you're saying though. I guess I'm just sick of us having sub-standard facilities and spending our time wishing away things that either won't happen or are half-baked.
