AFL won’t let them do that - it will be either a Ross Lyon type or a Alan Richardson type with a handover to a young coach after 3 years.
Yes that's the best option for them, but no experienced coach would want to coach that mob for two to three years unless you pay them mega bucks. Roos had no interest in coaching Melbourne so we kept throwing more money at him until he couldn't say no.

if you're an assistant coach you'd be mad to take that job. It's a career killer.

What a joke. Don’t even give the bloke 2 seasons.
I think he lost the players earlier in year

Alot of this has to do with game style, you can see Trac and Oliver are told to get the ball in deep as quickly as possible, trouble is they then miss free players i50
Yes too many dump kicks from those two

There is a massive gap between AFL defence and VFL
That's been the concern for me with Van Rooyen, but sometimes you just have to throw them in and see what happens
I like the idea of Jackson rucking more and Gawn playing forward more, that would make it a bit easier for Van Rooyen because Gawn would attract the better defender. Plus Gawn is an excellent mark and a very good set shot. We have to try something different.

Disappointed with Lloyd. Been one of the few media believers all season.Whats he talking about? Premiership teams are never decided in July FFS.He knows that.
I agree with everything Lloyd said. Of course premiership aren't won in July, so he's saying that our current form and the way we're playing is not good enough to win it, and that's true.

There's a lot of talk about the players but I think the coaches need to lift. They need to find a way to combat the faster ball movement from the opposition.

I don't think personnel changes will make much difference. Teams are playing us better, they're moving the ball quicker and it's disrupting our game plan.

Good to see respectful conversations can happen on DL.
Yes, it's not that hard.

Dunstan for Oliver is a no brainer if injuref, though he could also come on for Sparrow.
Dunstan is ordinary. I'd rather see Harmes in the guts.

Just another reason to hate geelong even more.
They'll probably win it

How can you play properly with a broken thumb?

Not too disappointed, it's Kardinia Park. Gawn and Jackson rusty...they'll get better.

Hard to see how we're winning with this forward line

Geelong have air superiority

If Jackson decides to move on, I reckon we could get Brodie Grundy on the cheap… ask the filth to pay a huge chunk of his contract too.
Signed a mega contract and has been poor since

Not confident. We still have forward problems and Geelong are hot at the moment

With a Weideman a bust we need to put our energies into Van Rooyen. Pick him!
