Lance Collard
Everyone loves a smokey... SNAPSHOT: “A mercurial small forward with a deep bag of tricks, Lance Collard is one of Western Australia’s most exciting prospects, with his ability to create something from nothing.” West Coast NGA product Lance Collard shapes as one of the more interesting names in this draft class. A top-end talent with some freakish highlights, the Subiaco star is a classy, high-octane small forward, demonstrating similar traits to Bobby Hill or Shai Bolton with his ability to change a game. After an injury interrupted bottom-age campaign, Collard hit the ground running in 2023, booting 15 goals in the first six games, including a six-goal bag in the WAFL Colts Super Round to earn selection in the West Australian Under 18 squad. Collard had an indifferent National Carnival, playing forward in a struggling side, but he showed glimpses of his talents, booting two last-quarter goals against Vic Country to almost spark his state to an upset victory. Returning to Subiaco, the 18-year-old enjoyed a dominant finals series, booting 10 goals across two games to almost lead the Lions further into the postseason off his own boot. He finished the campaign with 32 goals across 11 Colts games to average the most majors of any small forward in the competition. STRENGTHS: + Aerial ability + Agility + Forward craft + Finishing + Speed + X-factor IMPROVEMENTS: - Consistency - Discipline - Opposite foot

James Leake
This was the game in which James Leake transformed himself from a solid defender into contender for the top 10 as a dynamic forward. He was swung forward at half time with his Devils team trailing and he went on a tear in the third quarter, clunking every mark in his area with clean hands and slotting three goals for the term.

Leake and Windsor named. You've outdone yourself Wezza- Best 44
Off the top of my head.... FB: Rivers, May, Tomlinson HB: McVee, Lever, Salem C: Langdon, Brayshaw, Hunter HF: Pickett, Petty, Petracca FF: Fritsch, van Rooyen, McAdam R: Gawn, Oliver, Viney I/C: Billings, Bowey, Sparrow, ANB SUB: Spargo No obvious second ruck is a worry, unless they actually view Fullarton as potentially best 22 Want SparGod in the side for his kicking but someone like Billings may keep him out as a higher upside option, or Goodies golden boy & future best and fairest winner in ANB Hopefully we see someone like Woey or Howes keep their spot if given the chance Unfortunate that there's no direct competition for Sparrow's spot with a similar type of player, hopefully that changes when picks 6 & 11 have names Chandler still remains an unknown, fell away so badly that you probably couldn't put him in your October best 22...- James Leake
You'd hope so if we're taking him as high as #6- Phantom Drafts 2023

Future star or just a tease?- The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
We sure do need another mid (or two) coming through, I wouldn't be upset if we took him, looks like he'll be a player. Just think the goalposts have changed a bit given we've had another poor finals series, and we'll be looking for players who can provide a bit of a point of difference and/or impact straight away. Sanders might be plug & play, but not sure being the 5th or 6th guy in the midfield rotation over the next season or two will do much for us in the short term.- The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I'd rather 6 & 11 over just one top three pick, but if there's a world where we can grab Norf's pick 3 & 17 or something to that effect in exchange for 6 & 11, I'd probably prefer to take that route. Obviously this only happens if it enables Norf to grab pick 1 though. None of the highly touted guys expected to be available at our first pick seem super exciting, maybe with the exception of Caddy who would be a bit of an awkward fit. Sanders looks like he'll be a good player but doesn't provide any real point of difference, doesn't look like he can play anywhere else other than midfield either. Do we want to take a KPD with our first pick? Won't impact next year and we've gone tall two years running with JVR & Jefferson. Understand our hand may be forced with our second pick however given the Petty situation.- The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I have decided that Sanders and the key tall prospects are too boring, and that Caddy is too boom or bust Trade up and grab Duursma, McKercher or Watto - 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
