Got nothing against ANZAC day, just think the theatrics at this match the night before are the antithesis of what the day represents.

IMO the poor guys who were butchered at Gallipoli and in the trenches of WW1 because of great power politics didn’t die so that 85000 people could get photos of the darkened MCG for their instagram clout. Didn’t mean to derail the thread, but war and the glorification of it absolutely sucks.

The ANZAC day stuff is so over the top. There is no such thing as ANZAC eve, it isn’t Christmas or New Year. It shouldn’t be a giant commercial exercise and although it’s good for the club’s bottom line I wish we didn’t play this match.
