Is it a suspected broken jaw? I think it’s worse than Cameron’s hit on Andrews.
-
Nah just a fine. Michael Christian will deem it as low impact and careless. He’ll say the ball was in the vicinity and he tried to knock the ball on ?

I was at the game and it was something that my brother and I discussed during the final qtr. We saw the flags above the old scoreboard end blowing hard towards Adelaide’s end. Whether that wind is the same on the field is another story. Maybe the stands surrounding the ground may create a whirlwind affect in the middle of the ground similar to the G?

Let’s hope so ?. I do believe we are well prepared now to take some big scalps leading into the final few rounds. That Geelong loss, while I still can’t stop thinking about will prove to be a lesson well learnt, and the win in Adelaide will build huge belief and hold us in good stead for the final 4 weeks.
-
True but the fact people including the media say we haven’t beaten a team inside the 8 which is totally untrue. You can only beat who you play at the time and at the time they were 4th.
-
They were 6-3 leading into the game in Alice
-
I swear the crows were top 4 when we beat them in Alice....

Geez I copped a few dirty looks when we kicked that last goal. Sitting amangst a bunch of Toyota people bwahahaha.

Do you mean an exact resemblance to the game at the Adelaide oval last year?
-
I’m at the game. We are in this to our eyeballs.

It took me a few weeks but instead of looking at the St Kilda game as a chance blown, I’m looking at it as a blessing in disguise. We lost our way defensively for a couple of weeks there and that St Kilda game has got the players and coaches re-aligning what is needed defensively. We played dominate football against freo and if not for our kicking should’ve been a 100 point victory. The bulldogs have been good in games over the last few weeks and the way we put them away in that 3rd term, was the best footy we’ve played all year. Im quietly confident about our chances this weekend. They would’ve set there sights on this game a couple of weeks ago.

Last chance for Kennedy-Harris?

I must admit I haven’t seen any Casey games this year so I can comment on form, but my main concern is will he get pushed off the ball easily? I remember the last few times he played in the senior team, not only did he not get enough of the ball, he got pushed off it quite easily. From those who’ve watched some Casey games this year, is this an area that he seems to have improved on? -
He’s not Brisbane’s captain anymore

Yeah I know. I’m still filthy about that. It could be the loss we had to have. The reviews from that game sounded pretty confronting going by what Lewis said during the week. But going by the ladder at the moment and the upcoming fixture still could mean we can still make the top 4. Beating the doggies next week and then heading to GMHBA stadium full of confidence and a ground that suits our style will be a great start.

I think a Collingwood and WC win is a positive result for us. I understand that if we keep winning every other team around us becomes irrelevant for us to make the 8 but let’s face it, it’s unlikely to happen given the stage of where we’re at. Its teams like North and The poos and wees that I’m most worried about. I just had a look at the draw for those teams and they have a dream run. The teams from 2nd down literally all play each other. Port and collingwood are no certainty to make the top 4. Sydneyand WC could still miss. Those 4 teams have a very difficult draw to finish off the season. We could still finish second or even 10th. Beat the doggies and head to Geelong with our tails up, then we can date to dream.

Spot on. We have too many of the same type of players in the midfield. I think Tyson will be traded at the end of the year. Try and bundle him up with another player and try and get some more early picks in the draft. We are lacking leg speed and spread. Need Kent to get back and get some touch to give us some speed on the outside up forward. He was looking alright until he did his hammy. Spargo has to come in and replace Weed. We are too tall up forward. Hannan needs a spell. Hoping VendenBerg comes back soon. He’ll add something up forward. Baker maybe. Provide a bit of X factor but is he ready? I’m not keen on Stretch. That game against Richmond he was like a deer in headlights. Would anyone agree putting Hunt on a wing once he’s back to provide some outside run?
-
We are not that far off. We do lack leg speed, especially on the outside and mental toughness is probably the other thing we need. But taking a big scalp will change the belief of the playing group. You need to look at the teams this week as an example. Since 2014, nearly 5 seasons of footy, Richmond’s team this week have 12 players that have played together plus have picked up 3 players with experience (Caddy, Nank, Prestia). Sydney have 15 players. This week we are fielding a team that only 7 players have played together since 2014. That is a massive difference in experience and continuity. We are 12-18 months away from getting to that level. Might even only be 6 months.

I have a few mates that do the same thing Daisy and guess what... Every single one of them are collingwood supporters. Yet they won’t go to games when they’re going shite.

Give us some credit! (Media reaction merged thread)

I think trust is the issue with the media. We’ve had the reputation of being satisfied with a good win for it to come unstuck the next week. I think that reputation within media circles still exists and it may take a while for that to be wiped from peoples minds. -
Hi all, first time poster, long time reader. A lot of valid points here but for me I don’t think there needs to be any changes. The team is very settled at the moment and you can see that in the way they are playing. Big Max is playing as if he’s fresh as a daisy. I think the match comittee and performance staff are managing his time perfectly. Just remember in 2016 he was the only ruckman in our team and played 90-95% in the ruck. We didn’t have the luxury of resting him forward like we do now. He’ll rest when the bye comes. Spargo provides the spark we need when the ball is in our forward 50. He chases, harasses, tackles and seems to get a lot of frees. I don’t think Vince needs a rest, but he may be forced to depending on what the MRO decides. Smith was more than valuable as well. Competed in the ruck, got balls to ground when out of position and layed tackles. Everything a coach wants. And when you win like the way we did, anyone would be stiff to miss the following week.
