Training and Trackwatching
Fritta and Viney update. I was at Gosch's, Saturday morning, beautiful down there. A group of under 15's playing a half field game. 8 Blokes have a training drill. Storm having a captain's run, and Fritta and Viney doing their rehab. Looks like Fritta has ticked the boxes. Runs of various lengths, and the sharp start/stop, using hats. Finished off with numerous 70 meter sprints. Jack running laps, some parts, going 3/4 pace and the occasional walk. He had some knee strapping on, which he took off and finished more runs. Appears unhindered. I ask the trainer how they were. She said they “have finished”. Could be, they have finished their rehab, or just the session. All looked very positive.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Watched a replay of the dogs game. I thought they were very fumbley and made lots of mistakes with their ball movement (kicking to contests, and choosing the wrong corridor). They will be better for run. Where as we looked ready for "it". Bont and McCrea are the dangers. Will, Rivers step up as a stopper, along with Harmes? It will be a good game. Just hope we can finish them off "if" we get on top and get a great 3rd quarter in.

The state of the MCG is atrocious. Gosch's took 16 weeks till they could train on it! Has turf laying techniques changed enough so they can play on a surface that looks like it will be 50% resurfaced, and then 9 days later, used. It will have to be spongy, moving underfoot and gaps/seams between the layers. I said the same about the AFLW grandfinal surface and it turned out ok. The men will really give it a workout. Hope there are no injuries. We will be the third game being played on it, in three days. I guess they know what they are doing.

I can see the logic to bring more pace into the game. Though sometimes the tall's, get taller as the game progresses and fatigue hits the smalls/medium's. A small could also help with the bench rotations, and reduce the exhaustion of the on-ballerrs. We also have TMac, as a pitch hitter in the backline if a tall from there needs replacing, or they need support.

Not sure Chandler is the most flexible sub for us. Would rather see Harmes as sub, even Rivers, or JJ. Though Rivers is playing good footy, and could be a waste of use, of him. I think that role will be a very strategic position. If we have a player having a shocker, we need the option to drag them for a close, like for like change.

Seems the break is for 4 days. Perhaps a training session Thursday or Friday. 9th/10th. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.aflplayers.com.au/app/uploads/2023/01/AFLPA_Players-Handbook_2023_FINAL_Updated.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwie1r2Et8f9AhUpwzgGHd8AA2IQFnoECBEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3oysIUqeptzBORWQSRwFYO

No posting on MFC websites of any training photos today. Was there anything on the social pages? I would guess they have had a couple of days off, so as to freshen up before they get ready for the Big Show. Chances are they will train down at Gosch's Wednesday 8th, 9.30am. Nothing has been posted on the website yet.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Thought we did well when we didn't have ball. The Tiges got nailed multiple times because they couldn't find the outlet. Great pressure game, forcing turnovers and then rebounding. Many of the Tiges best couldn't get enough of the ball. How about Gotchin putting the elbows into Harmes head, when he had him pinned on the ground. Stupid, unnecessary, poor self control, should get cited by the match review. Our spread was good, as was the field kicking, noticed some of our kick outs went to the right. They were making good separation from their opponents, we are fit, fast and smart. Thought Chandler and McVee have done enough to keep their spots. Hibbo is possibly depth, the same as Melky. BBB and TMac still need to find their straps. Hopefully on the big stage. Less spear passes into the forwards today, hope they lift the eyes and find those short kicks. Tracc dominant, loved his on the run goal, in the face of Dusty. Wait till Clarry tries (thought he was half intensity), he will kill it. We seemed to do alright at the stoppages. Brody taking marks forward, May taking them in the backline, beautiful. Wings are taken care of. So many rotating through the on ball mids, I wonder if that will be how we go next time or the coaches were just trying things out. Back-line looked steady, though never really under pressure. Great ball movement off that line. How about the way Kossie moves! Wow, get the ball in his hands MFC players.

Collingwood image ‘raising eyebrows and questions’
According to s 35D of the Crimes Act 1958 (Vic), an activity may be sexual due to: The area of the body that is involved in the activity, including (but not limited to) the genital or [censored] region, the buttocks or, in the case of a female or a person who identifies as a female, the breasts. The above is, NOT a sexual activity as it involves males. So cannot be sexting, unless you can observe some sexual gratification between them. You can also see that the consent is obviously enthusiastic and those involved have a similar power base within their relationship.

Did they do a 30 minute run and cool down after the match? Like last week. Thought the coaches made the right field changes at the right time as a reaction to what was happening out there. Clarry down back, changing Mcvee, dragging Laurie for Woe, bringing Petty further up the field, putting ANB into the mid, basically keeping Brayshaw down back with a bit in the mid, Harmes as a stopper, Kysiah mainly forward, Spargo as a bit of everything. Tracc was dominant. TMac needs to mark cleanly, too many like how the Weid did it. Did the wind make it difficult for set shot kicking? (Chandler, BBB)

Wasn't he great, especially from the start. Sent the message, this is "my court" "Petty letting Sampson get off the leash". Looks like he had trouble with a tall, 206 cm I think. Needs to get body on him, or come in from the side with a fly at the ball. I think he didn't show him much respect, and was out timed and muscled.
