GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Walyalup
Want to see us play on the edge for the entire match, hard, fast, smart footy. Plenty of tackling pressure, hunting and creative handballing and kicks. They will not give the backline easy intercepts, as the Waly's are good at not kicking down the line of the goals. Hope to see our defence being more one on one and accountable. Small forwards need to kick a handful. Go Dees.

Training Ground?
https://concreteplayground.com/melbourne/travel-leisure/caulfield-racecourse-reserve-looks-set-to-be-revitalised-as-a-public-park-and-recreation-space The article suggest that Caulfield racecourse has $500 million allocated. "Back in 2018, the Victorian Government committed $1 million towards developing the strategy and managing the reserve, which is one of the largest open public spaces south of the CBD. The Melbourne Racing Club is putting $285 million towards the precinct's racecourse-related improvements." I assume the other $215 million is Government. No mention of MFC.

Training and Trackwatching
All the sessions on Gosch's have been very short, this season. Players make themselves available for selfies and signatures. The main training, where the sims occur, patterns of play can be interpreted and the players go into their associated lines, are all at Casey (which is closed to the public). It is unfortunate for those interested in observing proper/full session.

Will you BOO Luke Jackson this weekend?
No. Perhaps if he puts his knee's into Gawn as he tries to leap over him. I enjoy watching ex MFC players go round. Applauded Frosty in his 150, and will applaud the execution of good skills, by any player. I guess that originates from our lean years, and making the most of the entertainment aspects.

Training Ground?
The plan for Caulfield racecourse has been released. Nothing about MFC, though they indicate there is scope for sporting and cultural developments. https://concreteplayground.com/melbourne/travel-leisure/caulfield-racecourse-reserve-looks-set-to-be-revitalised-as-a-public-park-and-recreation-space

Kings Birthday Sold Out
By feelings exactly.

Kings Birthday Sold Out
I think it does mean you cannot go. Received an email from the club, indicating that I needed to get a seat.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
I have never been to it. Assume you can look through the fence, if they don't want you inside. On the MFC website, it states that they are closed sessions. Perhaps someone like "picket fence", may be better suited for information.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
My guess would be; Captain's Run, Friday 9.30 am, at Gosch's. Wednesday at Casey, 9.30 am. (As yet, no information has been posted by the club)

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
The clubs physio was right next to him at the time, guiding him through the process. Also, feeling the area where the leg bone meets the hip bone, at the front. After this assessment, he went and did some short easy run throughs with some sideways movement. Talked to the physio, and after putting on an elastic support, had numerous (at least 10), slowish, 50 meter timed run throughs.

First out and last off the paddock.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Fritta didn't do too much at training. Some work with the resistance band, and leg stretches. This has been his normal weekly preparation for some time now.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
No, more the front of it. Started with some stretches, hip raises. I have included a sketch.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Petty was in rehab, doing simple exercises, no running.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Had a chat to to a volunteer after the session. He reckons Oliver, will be out for 4 weeks, JJ or Harmes to come in, and that Dunstan is still struggling with his knee.
-
TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
He is moving OK, but only short movements. No strapping and feeling the top of his left quad. Scared and fell I'm imposing if I take his attention away from what he is doing. Oliver has entered the field, doing some resistance work and also going a bit harder. Now a bit more, does some switching with his steps, looking comfortable, all smiles, and Petty who is close by gives him a hug. He has put on a stretch strapping and doing some slow 50 meter run throughs under a timer. Carrying a ball, doing small kicks, Tracc has a hand slap with him, looking positive and on the low side of grading.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Took a while to spot him, Dunstan is in full training mode. I think they are testing him out physically. One of the last to leave the paddock, after doing some low ball gets.

TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Oliver, has turned up and is in the shed doing some exercises with a trainer.
-
TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
Focused, all gathered together, and as they were out late onto the paddock, I presume the review was extensive.
-
TRAINING: Monday 22nd May, 2023
They are all training together.
-

All set up down here at Gosch's, no players yet. Any questions or particular observations from me, or for me about training are welcome.
