Yeah I agree if he’s willing to go to either wa club, then it makes the go home factor more palatable

Spot on.
There is NO SUBSTANCE to this Pickett thing.
Kane Cornes said this on radio yesterday morning (Crunch Time). He threw it out there, Sam Edmund asked him to clarify, and he conceded he had no inside information but that the two SA clubs would love to have him.
In other words, he's made this up to start a fire.
Why would he do that, you ask?
Well, he's a Port Adelaide man. And he is a regular on Trade Radio, which stirs [censored] up on a daily basis to fill 8 hours of airwaves a day talking about pretty much every single player on every single list.
This is A-grade tripe.
And pathetic journalism by the likes of The Age by repeating it

What does binman think about his loading theory? We consistently looked cooked after halftime in the second half of the season, yet goody insisted in his post game presser that our players were fit.
Is our problem psychological?

For me, this is not about being bitter or angry. I love this team. They will forever be my sporting heroes. This is just my own honest assessments and views on our 2022 season.
I started to worry after the trade and draft period. We brought in a one player, a fringe player from St. Kilda who could potentially crack our 22. “Don’t worry. The improvement will come from within!” we were told. Teams don’t stand still. That Geelong side we beat in the prelim are an 8 goal better side this year due to changes in personnel and a tweak in their game plan. I believe that we just thought incremental improvement would happen.
Into the season. We were winning, but there were worrying trends. Failure to bury teams. Drop offs in games. Lack of cohesion going inside 50. Scoring was labour intensive. “That’s okay. We’ll click when it matters” we all thought.
Then we started to play the good teams. Teams that were ravenously hungry. Teams that had studied us intensively for 2 years and had worked us out. Teams that out-hunted us, and ran across the top of the ground a lot better than us. Teams that knew that if they stayed in games against us, they could run over the top of us. Did we have a Plan B for such occasions? I’m not sure.
The football world could see the issues. Lack of skill execution under pressure. Lack of cohesion going forward. Lack of reliable focal points in attack. Drop off in our pressure game. What was done about it in the second half of the year to buck these trends? Nothing. Goodwin was stubborn. He backed in his game plan. He backed in his core group of players. And by the time it got to last night, we were forced to play banged up players and players in questionable form because it was too late to bring in options from Casey.
I am glad the season is over. Truth be told, I didn’t enjoy the year at all. My heart was telling me we could win the thing, but my eyes and brain were telling me something different. The players said all the right things about being hungry, but Sydney showed us last week what it means to be truly hungry for 4 quarters. It is so hard to go back to back.
Am I excited for next year? Bloody oath! We finished 5th in a year where our forward line was broken. We led in 7 of our 8 losses by 20 plus points. When it mattered, our important players were banged up and not at their best. I believe that with a few changes to 22 after an aggressive trade period and some adjustments to the game plan, we can challenge again in 2023.
Reading this has made me feel a bit better, you’ve articulated exactly how I feel, especially this:
“My heart was telling me we could win the thing, but my eyes and brain were telling me something different.”
I think the expectations we had on our team made the season harder to enjoy. We finished home and away Second on the ladder, it should have been a great time for supporters!
I like the optimism of your last paragraph, I agree there is good reason to be excited about 2023 💙❤️💙❤️💙- 3

Anyone know whether Goody has said Tmac would have been good to go next week or whether is playing today for certain?
Playing today and assuming a good game would have most likely been picked for next week

Weids has a year left on his contact but was put up for sale last year and there were no takers........ not even Collingwood. Melb decided to re-sign him than give him away for nothing. He is unlikely to get any interest this year and thus likely to be on our list in 2023. Currently he has fallen behind JVR and unlikely to see senior footy again in 2022.
Tomlinson will request a trade despite being in contract. A early 3rd rounder will do it.
Bedford out of contract and likely to request a trade due to high competition for his spot.
Baker likely to be delisted
Mitch Brown a 50/50 delist or new contract, may be kept for depth on a one year contract.
Kade Chandler - contracted and no whispers of him requesting trade
Jake Melksham - was gone and had even secured a job in finance for 2023 but clearly now highly likely to get another season.
Fraser Rossman - likely to be delisted
Jayden Hunt - likely to re-sign but considering offers from other clubs.
Michael Hibbert - 50/50 retire or one more season
That's my mail.
Please don’t go Jayden

Last year I waited until we won the PF to put our colours out...didn't want to jinx our GF chances putting them out earlier.
This year, I'm wondering when to put them out: after this week's QF or wait to see if we make or if we win a PF.
I'm inclined to wait until we make a PF which could be this week. What are other DL's planning?
Can't wait to put out my new very large banner:
I like it LH. I like it a lot.

This is Admiral Nelson , ALL STOP ( All Stop Aye eye Admiral)
Lee what do you make of it?
Capt Crane. Not sure Admiral last thing I recall we seemed to be heading into some sort or vortex. A Vortex?? What is that??
Ah Come on Admiral ya know when ya empty the plug and it goes round in circles??
Admiral Nelson Ah Yes sorry I havent read this weeks script!
Anyway thats the last thing I recall!
Capt Crane it seems like a swamp of some description that we are in but wait lets crack the hatch and take a look
Admiral Nelson, Lee what is it?
Looks like we have landed in this swamp and near by is a playing field of some description, but Jeepers is it wet and boggy outside. Hang on some guy with no 38 on his back has just kicked a what looks like a Gridiron ball through 2 sticks and players are attacking him from all angles all wearing the same colors, but why Capt?
Lets take a closer look eh
Yes and please put it on your tricorder!
Admiral this isn't Star Trek, its Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea!!
Admiral Nelson. Oh yes I forgot .... Sorry Irwin... I mean Mr Allen!
Hey Capt there;s a strange looking bloke coming towards us.
PF Gday Harry, Lee yeah I know pretty wet but its been raining solid here for days. Look dont have time to explain but gotta get a report out for the tragics at Demonland, Come with me a see the action...
Demonlanders had the pleasure of watching a very good complete DEESTROYATION Today at Casey Fields!
Yep bloody boggy under foot but ground was pretty good. Here is my report, and rather than go through all players I'll just give some random thoughts
LUKE DUNSTAN Clearly BOG he was not dissimilar to Clarry when on song and he just was the catalyst to an impressive win, for all the talk about his disposal I thought he was very good and kicked some ripper goals
MITCH BROWN Wow what a strong performance lead well was clever , took some very strong grabs and kicked 5 goals great game
DEAKYN SMITH Flashy , Fearless , and very good footy smarts played a great defensive game
JACOB VAN ROOYEN bookmark this, Kid will be a STAR, still Raw , but as jack Dyer would say he is "Learning the caper well" and as Jack would further say.... "Has telescopic [censored] arms" LOL.. Took a great MOTD and converted but could easily have kicked a few more goals
T.MAC would be pleased to get through unscathed and set up some nice plays and will only get better
DANIEL TURNER, really solid performance and repelled many forward entries.
WEEDS, Forced to ruck and did a pretty good job and was involved in some nice plays
FRASER ROZMAN BEST game I have seen him play, linked up well and has a very penetrating kick on him
ADAM T Very good game rebounded well and was very solid
JOEL SMITH Got involved and created a target getting back to some good footy
TOBY BEDFORD, Fine line between doing too much and getting caught and being brilliant, a few times overan it but got better as the game progressed
TAJ WOWOEDIN Watch this space will become a very good player, courageous and smart ball user
KADE CHANDLER Provided us with the goal of the day but doesn't quite do enough consistently
finally speacial mention to 2 Casey Players JAMES MUNRO and GEORGE GRAY, CAN BOTH PLAY and are the barometers for this team, also MATT BUNTINE calm and Composed. Thats about it
Gotta Go the SEAVIEW is about to be attacked by a GIANT SWAMP CREATURE.
GO DEES
P.F
Not quite as effusive as Chris from Camberwell, but an appreciated summary. Thanks

Our home will be in the MCG precinct, and it will be done in conjunction with the Vic Govt. This has all been stated. What has pushed out is the timeline obviously. I highly doubt the Club has been telling porkies to us. What I believe is that there have been Govt delays or changes, to which we cannot speak, or else Rolley or Pert would have informed us. If it wasn’t going to happen we would have been told, and a new search would have been instigated. I have complete confidence it will happen. As someone has suggested, the delay may be that our new home could now be included in the MCG upgrade (which would be a far better option in my view - but may take longer).
As someone else said, premierships are more in our complete control now, so let’s get a couple more. The big picture will take care of itself, in its own time.
I think also 2 years of Covid may be responsible for the government not being able to engage sufficiently to get it done.

I think the Dees deserve more the location at Olympic Park.
We were offered it first, said no, couldn’t afford it
