They have said all year they have played Preuss in the twos largely to improve his marking. Yesterday I thought he tried hard and gave an option, but dropped marks he should have taken. If we had good smalls underneath him, it may have at least enabled the ball to be retained, but they mopped up all the spilt marks as we have no crumbers.

Oliver could have just kicked it himself, he basically stopped moving to give the slow loopy to brayshaw and didn't take the responsibility to kick what would have been a pretty easy goal from 40m on the run. You can say it was team play, but I thought it showed a lack of confidence to take ownership of the situation. Really poor and still Ollie's biggest (and probably only) major flaw is his unwillingness to kick.

Agree, either they believe in the technology and have it available at all times or just ditch it. Cricket unlike footy doesn't lose anything for the slight delay while determining decisions. BTW Roy looked Plumb first ball and the tracking said all bar 10 mill of the ball was hitting the stumps so umpires call. They really had zero luck and still only lost because of a bizarre rule that says nothing about cricket technique or skills. Time for us to cane them in the ashes.

Barracking for Kiwi's last night was like barracking for Melbourne. Zero luck and everything worked against them even when they played largely the better cricket. Should have won, but didn't and were just dead stiff! Super over should be with your batsmen left (poms were all out) and as for the most 4's thats like deciding a drawn GF by who had the most shots at goal? Totally irrelevant to who is the better team!! Stayed up to 5am to watch the rotten poms and Jerkovich win. Really wish I had of gone to bed at 10pm as they will both be nightmares to add to the recurring 87 Prelim, 88 GF, 90 1st Semi, 98 Prelim, 2000 Gf, 2002 SF, 2019 Prelim flashbacks!!

Like most things on here, the truth I think lies somewhere in the middle. We were much better for 3 quarters, but whereas last year we would have completely blown them off the park with the dominance, yesterday like most of this year we missed many opportunities with poor shots at goal and bad skill errors costing us chances to be 10-12 goals up at 3/4 time. This fact kept the scores close enough to enable Lygon St to come back into the game and take advantage of our limited fit players and rotations. It was a god effort to find a way to hang on, but the game should have been over by 1/2 let alone 3/4 time with the dominance in play we held. Always happy to win and they did show a mental resolve to take control again after being headed, instead of rolling over.

We had the handball to petracca's feet which he fumbled, cost certain goal, harmed dropping a mark 40m he should have taken, tmac's pie drop 10m out. They missed easy goals we were too [censored] to even use the opportunity to score! The Hannan switch to no one... horrible horrible effort.

Terrible game, Brisbane played well for about 1/4 but that was 1/4 more than Melbourne. The lack of pressure and horrible turnovers (so many bad handballs by us). Really summed up the year, pox!

Probably gives some credence to Jeff's comments that the security hired don't really understand the game and what is deemed acceptable or not!

Agree, never really had any major issues other than the occasional Richmond or Essendon feral. As long as they aren't barracking "at you", I generally have no issue. Then again I probably choose to sit in areas where I know the likelihood of running into ferals from the opposition is unlikely, because I don't want to deal with them. The nanny police, well that is just where the universe is heading sadly.

I'll just boo the security guards and the behavioural awareness officers this Saturday. Might get a life ban which may save me from further pain and suffering watching Melbourne get flogged for years to come. It will be like AFL Euthanasia!!

25 up at 1/2and really that was flattering to Adelaide. We dominated the 3rd but actually had the margin reduced to 16. We kicked the first of the last. Really we didn't try to slow things, but honestly I think Adelaide looked more dangerous when they went slow!! The picked holes in us, when they went quick, apart from iMac onn Jenkins, they didn't really look like breaking through regularly!

That's the problem though. They did on the most part play well. They should have won. But it's just so often. Even last year, Geelong by 2, port Adelaide, Sydney, we were the better side in all games and lost and it cost us a top 4 spot and possibly a flag? Not once did we really steal a game where we just hung around and got over the top late. Tonight just continues the theme, we may dominate, but it doesn't mean we'll get the chocolates! the W.C effort & tonight are better efforts, but if you lose when you shouldn't, there is still something NQR!

Can't blame NT should have been over at 3/4 time and counting point and money. oscar was towelled by a complete Elmer Fudd. Frost did well on Walker but Jenkins killed OMac. Lynch starred, but at least he is a gun, Jenkins though wow that it is just awful. OMacshould be traded for anything available. I'd take a pack of samboy salt & Vinegar chips and samboy have been out of business 10 years+!!

Most of the reason for the accuracy is most of the goals are from the goal line after getting out the back. Even against the hawks their goals early were largely the outnumber behind the footy, even though we have implemented a back stop, which has made us harder to score against in the past 3 games.

Probably the best win by MFC in my lifetime, had no right to get within 10 goals after the two 15 goal thrashings the weeks before from the saints and Geelong. We got rolling after that win and were clearly the 2nd best side in the comp by seasons end, the best side North who knocked us out, lost to about the 5th side Adelaide in the GF though after kicking 2.12 in the 2nd quarter!! I fear that may have been our best chance for a flag in 98!
