Just now, Skuit said:
To paraphrase just enough:
There’s a backline that features Jake Lever, Mitchell (er, Michael) Hibberd and Neville Jetta, as well as former Gold Coast co-captain Steven May (plus Christian Salem).
The engine room is led by the game’s premier ruckman in Max Gawn, who consistently dishes out hits to advantage to the likes of Clayton Oliver, Angus Brayshaw, Jack Viney (and James Harmes and Christian Petracca).
That'll do me: I'm the envy of every other past Demons' supporting incarnation of myself.
I don't know why the media keep harping on this:
Given the dominance of Gawn, it was strange that North Melbourne back up ruckman Braydon Preuss was so keen to get to the Demons. Even more so given Kangaroos big man Todd Goldstein is in the twilight of his career, while Gawn has years ahead of him. Preuss has put it on the record that he believes he and Gawn can play in the same team, just like the Eagles premiership duo of Scott Lycett and Nathan Vardy did in 2018. But if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
I simply cannot wait til the Gawn/Preuss tag team shuts these clowns up.

Fugazi.
But I like it.
Yeah it is Fugazi but it beats the hell out of the negative [censored] we've endured for a decade. Also better than all the false dawns we've had. This feels completely different. Can we win a cup? [censored] I hope so.

I've been very impressed with Steven May and I cannot wait to see him run out in the red and blue come Round 1. Kudos to the recruitment staff for getting this done now before the vultures swooped. We got a huge asset to our backline and the team.
Didn't know he was a pilot to boot. Another tick from me.

In other news the sky is still blue.
Take 2010 out of the equation and we easily win this one. Still would be a hollow victory.

I've now lowered my expectations on Preuss.
Why? All reports about him so far have been extremely positive even the non-rose coloured reports. Sure it's pre-season training and everyone's up and about and training the house down but he could does fill a necessary hole for us and looks capable. Proof will be in the pudding. I'm certainly looking forward to the JLT series to see what he can do. Hopefully he'll make the cut for Round 1 and from there we'll see.

Why is Melksham in the rehab group? What is he recovering from?

Also a reminder to Demonlanders wanting to head down to training that Friday's training is the final session this year and is an Open session as involves giveaways and a visit from Santa.
Date: Friday, 14 December
Session start time: 9.30am
Location: Gosch's Paddock, Olympic Bvd, Melbourne
Details: Join us at our final AFL open training session for 2018! Enjoy a range of fun activities and giveaways around the ground, including a visit from Santa! This is listed as the final OPEN training session for 2018. Does that mean it is the last session before the Christmas Break or the last Open Session before the Christmas Break?

The club needs to convert all those people begging for membership barcodes during the finals.

Excellent reporting as per usual @DeeSpencer.
Were the rehab group just running laps? Were any of them doing ball work (of the non contact variety obviously)?

Re: Round 1 clash versus the Demons.
Well let’s hope it’s 2013 again I guess
2019, just like 2018.
Tough game first up
Last time we played Melbourne in round 1 at the mcg is still one of the best days at the footy I have been too. The uncertainty of how we would go and the hype of the Melbourne supporters brutally rebuffed by a new free scoring port, the debut of Ollie wines and a jay Schulz mark of the year contender. Happy times. Hope for a repeat.
Pencil that one in as a near certain loss.
The only strength we have now is our inside 'bulls' as KT called them, and theyve been hammered inside by the maturing young group that Melbourne have for a while now. Theyve been too quick, reflexes too fast, and simply too hard for us. We got super lucky last time at home against them and we've only gotten worse since then, while theyve got a shitload of organic growth left in them.
In a year where we will really struggle to make the top 12 let alone 8, its a terrible start.Nothing like starting the season with a 10 goal loss
Always good to get games at the G
Dees by 79 points.
So we going to Crows vs Hawthorn to boo Chad
Thread title needs to be changed to Swimming & [censored] Cup lol
----- I reckon old mate will be in the SANFL lol
Lol who ******* cares. I'm still not even close to remotely wanting any sort of football.
We will get smashed
Bring back 2013.
It'll be 237 days since our last win. We could be due.

Hey, @EnterTheDragon, seriously mate, you couldn't read a phone book. ?
He'll just change the narrative and say we bent over. He probably won't be wrong with that but that wasn't his original claim. Looking forward to his avatar change as we force feed him humble pie.

If it's Hogan for May does May get the number 1 guernsey?

If Jesse was less introverted I would have expected him to be paraded out in a Freo jumper but I doubt he'd be up for that. Maybe some Freo socks.
