I couldn't care less if we are high on the list with our contested possessions ,l know that we don't like it wet. We were easily beaten by a side which lost Rioli Mcenvoy for a time ,Frawley wasn't 100 pc and Puopolo all hard nuts. Yet they kicked15 goals to our one after quarter time. I haven't been so disappointed for a long time. What are you guys thinking out there. YOU DON'T LIKE A BIT OF DIRT ON YOU ? Slippery Dees!!! Shame on you. I pay to have my say. I EXPECT BETTER!!!
-
I am sure and many others are gutted by the meek performance. 15 goals 2 to ONE goal 7 after Quarter time. Haw 54 to Mel 53 inside 50s. smashed in the middle 56 to 39. missed Tyson today We are missing one tall forward. However some of our players definitely not skilful. We need to make some changes maybe quite a few because some are receiving free games. I hope that Tyson and Hunt get back in and whoever else really wants to play for the Dees.
-
I think we win if we can hold Rouphy. He kicked 4 straight last time we met them. However if the best no 8 ruckman in the league in Gawny gets on top of of McEnvoy it will go along way in winning. Lets hope. Go Deees! 8 is a lucky number.

Max Gawn not in Top 8 Ruckmen according to The Age
nosoupforme replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
HA HA ..... THE AGE! which planet are you from? Herald Sun should buy the age and then sack all the sports journalist they have there. Maybe Max could be the sports editor . -
All is well with Angus they are just easing him in and could be playing this week. Remember came back from concussion late last season and had an excellent game from the hbf against St Kilda. Has Quality and class written all over.
-
Dean Kent, Well what a game you put in! First game back since you done your shoulder last season, and you nailed it. 20 touches 3 goals and chased hard all day. I know its only 1 game, however your best footy is explosive and it could help the Dees go a step further this year. Well done.
-
If Hunt fires in the magoos then he must come in to help break the lines with his explosiveness. He is a critical part and they all have downers. If Hogan plays up the ground although i would rather he play deep forward then l think that Pedo needs to be in to help straighten us as a big target.. I think we were one tall forward short although we took care of the situation against a lesser side today. The Hawks is a test for us next game and Pedo is a strong body as is Hunt. Brayshaw could be another for his silky skills as a midfielder. We will have to wait and see.

My 3 word player analysis v North Melbourne

I certainly think that there is a minority of haters as there was for Watts over time. Lever is an AA and there is always some excuse for a high profile player that arrives and doesn't produce the goods at an instant. Supporters are somewhat impatient and they want their team to play well and win games. l am one that wants to see the kid play well and produce and there should not be IMO any reason Lever not showing some of the ability at the minute what he is capable of. Maybe he is carrying injuries that the club has kept quiet? However twice he was beaten by a first gamer leading to the ball against the Cats, caught almost 2 metres behind. Dropped a chest mark when virtually on his own the last man in defence. There are a few other instances. A player of his calibre isn't picked up to play just the one position, However he has leadership material based on the inner sanctum. Well if that is the case then lets hope that he shows something this week against our hoodoo side in North and really helps us win this game. I believe he is the key player down back this week. No we are not a one man side although IMO he is the key.
-
Have some faith, WITHOUT A DOUBT! North beat St Kilda last game and l feel as if the curse is firmly entrenched on the poor Saints. They have won there game for the month.
-
Weideman as much as l like and him hope that for a top 10 pick does well. However he needs to put several good consistent games together before he is ever picked to play. His best ever game was his first game against Hawthorn 2 years ago. Believe me why play him if he can't put 2 reasonable games together in the VFL.. At the minute you stick with Pedo because he has some runs on the board . He did ok last season. Hope TMAC is back soon.

Brown is a fine player agile for size and he will most probably kick some goals, However we have the match ups . Frosty, OMAC and Lever to combat both Brown and Waite. The numbers as well will drop back NO ISSUE there. North will have there problems, HOGAN, GARLETT and possibly Petrac to worry about. Hogan and Garlett are on and the boys are more prepared so let them worry about us more. I expect to beat them with a strong showing. The tide is finally changing.

We had Ollie and was to join Melbourne at pick 4 and to be with his close mate in Jack Viney. GWS had the first 3 picks in the National Draft and Melbourne had pick no 4.which came from GWS for an uncontracted player compensation pick, that happened to be for Scully. Toumpas was to be picked up early and fell through to pick 4. Todd Viney and co decided to pick Toumpas ahead of Ollie and he slipped through to Pick 7. Note! After picking Toumpas at 4 the next pick at 5 was Jake Stringer, WHAT IF? GOD HELP US !

Back on the G where we were beaten by the Roos . Brown is on fire and kicked his 6 last game. I like to think that Lever gets the first crack at him as l hope Frosty will be in the side as well. It will also give Lever a chance to do some sweeping and intercepting which will help his confidence. I am confident that we have the side now to win these type of games but to me Lever becomes a key to this game. The puzzle is been put together slowly over the years and it is coming on well. Clarry and co will take care of the rest the match.

Goodwin and the assistants did what they could possibly do. We won the game and with a leg in the air in the end. However lose and poor Goodwin is no good. To be 42 up 10 mins in the 3rd and to be level and in trouble 10 mins into the 4th Q and to bounce away brilliantly and win by 26 points is a credit to the players. Goodwin couldn't do much therefore the players picked themselves off the floor and finished it off brilliantly. Well done Dees you are maturing. PS who ever! Stop whinging we won.
-
Brayshaw and Frost to come in. Lever to play his sweeping roll. He will be looking forward to that. I think Salem is looking shaky and as much as l like him he is struggling. Wagner will be dropped lmo to make way for Brayshaw. Lever needs to produce some consistency next week, However playing the sweeper roll is his forte he will welcome Frosty next week as Brown awaits us.

Good sides find a way to win. The old Melbourne would have thrown it away in that last quarter when the lions were level. We looked gone and it was a sick feeling. They found a way to win and by 26 points. Can you believe it ? Well done Dees! you are maturing .Some iffy umpiring decisions and one in front against Jetta, the mind boggles. The holding the ball decision in the crucial last Quarter. Out of jail or not the old Melbourne would have capitulated. You made my Easter.

6. Hogan Super star. 5. Oliver Superstar AA we will get used to it. Sign him up for the next 10 years. 4. Garlett 3. Jones 2 .Gawn 1 Petrac
-
What we needed last week was an extra midfielder with class and know how. However it didn't take long for them to wake up the coach. Tyson is back and that will be the help that was needed. Feel better now.
-
Angus Brayshaw will come into the side soon enough and it won't be after a concussion or an another injury , it will be because he is ready to come in fresh and.... injury free ! Got a gig late in the season after missing many games because of concussion and off the HBF and held his own. He is a young gun no doubt about that. Looking forward to seeing him back very soon. Maybe as soon as the NM game.
-
Adelaide will win with a leg in the air. Dusty's kicked 5 and the Crows are 35 up with 2 mins to go. We play Richmond Anzac eve and we owe them big. I can't wait. I am confident. And Crouch was off with a hammy for the crows

I would be happy enough to receive this first hand information anytime. Well done.

Plotting the downfall of Lever via AFL.com
nosoupforme replied to Engorged Onion's topic in Melbourne Demons
OK so one game in the season and the panic has set in with negativities most are writing the season over because we were beaten by a side that finish the season in the top 4. Now we are worried about a side that finished on the bottom of the ladder. Amazing group of people supporting our club. Win a game your on top of the world, However lose and the end is near? Tyson, Brayshaw maybe Frosty this week and the side is strengthened. They will be chomping at the bit. Lever will improve, he is better than that. -
Ben Guthrie, What are you thinking! Oliver is a B&F , a ball magnate and unlucky not to be selected in the AA final team. Now the U23s top 10 ??? JOKE? Yeah.. Curnow wait turn, you have not proved yourself. Maybe in the future.
