  1. I'm also worried because ANB is technically up for selection next week... all it takes is for one or two dud performances this week, and he'll naturally float into the 'let's try this again' space.
  2. What did Lockhart do to earn the drop? He's been pretty alright to me! And WAGNER? He's back!? I thought we'd seen the end of the Wagners! ...At least that's what I had hoped! Harmes hasn't been great. But he also hasn't been played in the right position either. Still, probably the kick up the pants he needs to fire up. Happy with Rivers inclusion, though.
  3. After we answered some questions in the last few weeks, but given the quality of the opposition, many questions were asked of us. Looks like the real Dees stood up today. Let's see whether we have any guts in the last qtr. If they can kick 6 unanswered goals, so can we I guess, but I can't see it based on Q3.
  4. Seeing pieces finally come together... Making the 8... AND smashing the pies? That's a good night.
  5. It's weird to say it, but the best thing about the game so far has been the fact that there are quite a few of the boys who aren't yet firing. We are capable of so much more, today and in general, just got to keep believing and working on the basics.
  6. Geez, 3 weeks ago we couldn't buy a goal. Didn't even know where they were. But here we are against more formidable opponents (at least compared to the Roos and Adelaide), and we're direct, creative, energetic, and relentless in our own 50. Heck, even Tom Mc is taking grabs and looking like a target of sorts. Much better structure, energy and focus. Great half of footy. More, please!
  7. In my mind, Fritter was paid the mark (because it was), he went back and kicked a goal from 60 to get his kicking mojo back.
  8. A perfect example of Langdon's 'terrible' kicking skills... ?
  9. That goal is on Lever. He had a paddock there, don't know how he was going to shepherd it all the way to the boundary, at least without looking really suss. Stupid play.
  10. Spargo has had a pretty tough trot on here, and I guess sometimes it's been earned, but geez he's been great these last few weeks. It's a role we really need and if he keeps going like this, he will add immense value. The kid has got footy smarts and tries his guts out, even if what he does doesn't always work.
  11. I know North ain't much chop this year, but a win over them is ALWAYS sweet. Particularly because we haven't seen many of them over the years. Trac (!!!), Gus and Clarry were great. Spargo was really good, more of that please! Jackson, again, really good. Weid missed a few, but his hands were good, and he lead into great spaces. Plus, the delivery was pretty good. Amazing what can happen when you kick TO somebody!? We generally moved the ball around better, and had we had our goalkicking boots on, we should have won by 100. Would love to smash the pies next week. I hope this team turns up, and continues to build on the momentum/development.
  12. Spargo has been pretty great. I know he's had his detractors, and I think he's had moments/games where he hasn't been sighted (not a height joke), but really, we could do with a guy like Spargo killing it every week.
  13. Loving the Weid tonight. Great hands, gets into good spaces, and look at that - some delivery! He should be converting those chances, but I'm not too upset about that, everything else is falling into place. Been a good string of games.
  14. We're not very good, aye ☹️
  15. Umpiring has been terrible, but we haven't been great either. The crows have been a lot more direct with their F50 entries, and as usual we are just bombing it in. Mind you, this is against a team who is, as of right now, winless in 2020. I'm torn. I would have loved us to come out firing, and belt these guys, but that wouldn't mean anything, because it would prove us to be only able to win against the easybeats. But as it stands, we've been pretty bog ordinary tonight so far.
  16. Hot garbage. Even if the boys were tired. And that's a big IF, because it's clear that the guys couldn't be arsed tonight, I just want to toy with the hypothetical. Why the dumb football? And the complete lack of heart? And the lack of any semblance of a gameplan? (does fatigue affect the coach?).
  17. True, but even if they gave us the free, and we had the ball, what would we do with it? Probably plant it straight onto Westhoff's chest 30m out. Goal. Nah, not keen on that.
  18. Haha remember a few years back when Port were a joke, the Lions were getting smashed, and the Saints were just plain bad? ...and we were on the up and up. Ah, memories.
  19. Fraudulent is a good word for this. Our club. Our coach. Our supposed culture.
  20. To hell and back.... to back to back seasons of HELL! To the Dees: I won't charge for giving you the title for next year's doco. This one's gratis
  21. It's the connection! We've learned a little bit more about where we are as a footy club. We're not happy, we have to get better.
  22. Hey guys, we might be bad now (like, really, really bad), but just you wait until we get our connection going! Then ooooh boy it's gonna be raining goals 24/7. ...
