Yeah I think Jake will start, don’t like Cats set up they look a tad top heavy. Hope, we get a large crowd - we have to be a genuine 50/50 chance and if there is rain I think we move into favourites. We have a real chance to set up our season - we just have to learn to recognise & take the opportunities when they present themselves - but that is an education process and a mind set.

Yesssssssss Well done Bailey GO Dees
  3. Traditionally AFL football clubs have not been good in the business of making money.
  4. This does raise the obvious question - How do you replace the gambling revenues coming into the game? Think there is another thread on the site discussing that very question - so maybe a question you don’t have to answer here. If, you can’t anwer that question you have to deal with the situation as it is. Personally, I don’t mind either way - I’m happy to deal with the situation as it is until a better ulternative is put forward. Go Dees
  5. Think many people these days are working hard to ensure we do have the money to fix our own issues. Ultimately, football is just a game in the business of sports entertainment. As much as that may upset people you can’t change what is out of your control.
  6. Geez ideas to grow our crowds and income streams - now I like that. Go Dees
  7. All of the above??? Dont forget played poker machines with his Aunty Maye till 1.00 am in the morning !!!
  8. You are spot on - in his mind the random number pulled out his rear end is pure negative speculation. Fortuntely, MFC has a loyal resilient supporter base - we prove it Year in Year out. But we have also had “the veil” to deal with - such is life. These days the club is a very positive environment with very positive people controlling the Levers. Long may it continue. Go Dees
  9. That’s a very good question- I suspect you are not going to like the answer - No- let me explain. With memberships you are in the business of selling hope. Most MFC understand the process - we are grinding out solid sustainable improvement year after year. We talk alot about the Tigers - they are brilliant at selling hope then upgrading your financial commitment- you would be staggered what I pay for my Tigers membership - but that’s for business reasons. Would you buy or sell a share based on a company having one bad day - the trend is you friend. One bad day on the football field is exactly the same - makes no difference- the trend is your friend. Its only the irrational numpities that make desicions based on one game - Essendon and every other team in the league are living proof you sell memberships on hope. You just have to ignore the “negativity” coming from the MFCSS inflicted. They are complaining experts , they will complain about the fixture, complain about the AFL, complain about the MFC - Roos addressed it but they are so stupid they did not understand what Roos was talking about. We have a very bright future in a very tough environment. Go Dees
  10. Nah you were all just being a bunch of negative old sooks Did you bother to look at their 2105 numbers? You are comparing us to a bunch of drug cheats - LMAO Essendon ? 2015 61,000 2016 57,500 2018 67,800 - Essendon make the finals Melbourne 2015 36,000 2016 39,150 2018 42,250 - Demons dont make finals So what is your point? You are wrong again - Again MFC supporters show their resilience. I wonder what happened at the DRUG cheats in 2016? Please stop insulting some MFC supporters there may have been other reasons the drug cheats got such a big growth and it has SFA to do with making finals.
  11. I don’t give a stuff what Caro says regarding the MFC & SAS training. Your an idiot if you bring a pen to a street fight - footy is not played on paper.
  12. Success is a great accumulator in life. Some can reach it as a matter of mind set - some will never reach it even sadly if their life depended upon it. Success can be defined by walking off the battle-field with two arms and two legs haven given your all ( self defined ) and be prepared to go again. Elite performance is not about how intelligent your are it’s about how determined you are and the sum of the people around you.
  13. There was certain people claiming the last round would cost us thousands of members - it clear they are wrong again - MFC supporters display their resilience again. Not long now and we get rid of the negative old boys once and for all. Go Dees

Good policy just never get sick & if you have a “private” message system disable it

Exactly, Facebook under most circumstances can identify the guilty party - they store the data in their data centres on their serves.

How many website owners read the terms and conditions of their webhosts, google, facebook, twitter, cloudflare, rss feed syndication etc etc - plus if your site has been in existence for a few years what you did agree to back many years ago is not worth the paper its written on ? Governments all around the world are struggling with legislation.

Brilliant Summary minus the political references. You have nailed it -external links work both ways for web-bots , once your site is indexed - good luck removing the content from the public domain. Yes you can remove it delete it from your site, but its almost impossible to remove it from the public domain.
  18. DaveyDee replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree & in today’s world anybody who hits that save button and publishes content online in the public domain is a journalist- why I found it interesting they made a clear point and mentioned social media. Facebook, Twitter hold content and data on there own servers and in their own data centre - but that is not the case for all sites. 99% of the population don’t understand the internet - descriptive metadata, keywords, web bots meaning nothing to them.
  19. Posters need to be more aware of Demonlands code of conduct 4. Player abuse is the most difficult area to moderate. Whilst we do not want to stifle player comment and criticism player abuse is NOT acceptable. Comments should be constructive and not destructive. Comments such as "player X is useless" or "player X is crap" are NOT acceptable. As of today the AFL players have put all publishers on notice both on and offline. The vitriolic language you use towards players past or present could get you in deep trouble.
  20. enligh of today’s events you wanna be very careful what you say regarding somebodies reputation unless it’s 100% true. Now if you don’t know for a fact your post is redundant - again after today’s events.

Interesting comment - all I can say is welcome to the world of metadata. If anybody can prove by reasonable efforts that DeeSpencer is infact Mrs D Brown ( made up name for example only ) has allegedly done the following wrongs- Law enforcement agencies can easily get access to your ISP server data. It would not be out of the question to tell you what you ate for dinner and with whom etc
  22. DaveyDee replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I would not worry about a players injury being wrongly quoted - but I would worry about many comments written by Joe Nobody on certain sites.

Does Big Footy own their own data centre and servers? or Are they on a shared server? Think you might find Facebook & Twitter own their own data centres and servers. But sorry I cant speak for any other site thats their issue to deal with now the players have mentioned social media.
  24. DaveyDee replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I would say thats an interesting assumption FB should not have a problem because the person posts/publishes under his or her name - so it would be relatively easy to get facebook to act. Assuming the AFLPA lawyer thought they had a case. Twitter again understanding how their servers operate store and save data it might be tricky - but hell they are a massive company - if they cant identify the individual or group thats there problem. Other sites I cant say maybe a question you should ask Bigfooty. But what I do find interesting is they actually mention social media as a target.
  25. DaveyDee replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Interestingly, this has massive implications for all publishers of content both on or offline. Wonder when or how long its going to take for the AFLPA ( on the behalf of some players) to sue Bigfooty? or An Ex-official suing Bomberblitz for slander with comments regarding their conduct regarding recent issues at their club?
