Sam Weideman
Painfully true. He has a particular body shape and size. If he really wants to play premium football, he needs to work harder than he has on that body and its capabilities. He could well handle 15 kgs of sheer muscle development from head to toe; his ability to read the play is in need of attention; he has very little agility in lateral and directional change; his light frame renders him noncompetitive in critical fwd marking duels or packs; he could work on speed increases and leading to space as a fwd receiver of midline effort. Injuries, sure were important but I doubt that he has been 'really' working on his aptitudes for success. I'd give him this year only to make the change - then hand him back to the Filth if key milestones are not met.

The Weed: Reading the play is his key football need. Putting on some real muscle is another - much more than one pre-season of 'bulking', as reported. He could also increase his speed considerably and lateral agility is vital for him to become the key forward that he already should be. Consistent competitiveness in marking might result. Leading to deliveries would be highly desirable, as well.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
For other clubs under such an administration as the AFL, the FOI must be successful in order for those clubs to avoid the damage done in the past with full, heads-up strategies and that includes existing feedback. Commonsense must prevail. Anything else is negligence.

And sometimes, one wonders why a Tasmanian team has not be able or permitted to enter the competition - population is not necessarily the reason, yet that would be based upon the holy $1.00 in some eyes. Tassy football, in general, is remarkable to watch if you get the chance. It reminds me of the VFL days - contests are great. Umpiring is very communicative and as a result, proves to be really consistent.

Just a personal note of thanks, Binman, to another.

Hiya, Wilbur. Agreed about the bottle fermentation in Cooper's Beer. However, it is three times better if you make it yourself. Cooper's make a ripper series of home brew mixes; have not had a bad one yet. Some are exceptional, such as their APA, Stout and Real Ale. However, I am probably talking to the converted so forgive me. The brews are fine to take to the 'footy' over here - meaning a few bottles slipped into the nearest Foxtel lounge when the Demons are playing on their telecast through Channel 504. Other than that, my home was Melbourne and I must admit, I miss it even after 18 years in Adelaide. Hell of a drive to get to the footy at the MCG, though...

Posited most appreciably, with sound foundations of logic, perception and that deeper understanding of the things of this world. It bound my thoughts with clearer meaning and for that, I thank you. Kind regards...

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Hey, over here in Adelaide, there are two clubs that drive you absolutely sick. Port and the Crows. No TV coverage for MFC, no articles in the daily paper, no radio commentary, no nuffin. Loathsome behaviours all of the time from supporters with at least 20 commentators counting every breath of every player in these two sides. They even think that they got a bargain with Watts, Toumpas and the profits from the Lever deal. Yep, hate Essendrug and Carlscum, but these two in proximity are unbearable.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Hell, that is a great consideration. Fits nicely with a total running game to have two feeders in tandem.

Memories fade, SWYL. Can you remind me of: what was the alarm, and Carlscum players' talk with Ratten, broken bones. Just cannot recall these things but a stir of the grey matter may be of assistance, if you wouldn't mind. Kind regards....

Sniff, sniff ... another Essendon something or other? Sniff, does it stink? Thompson, Salmon, Madden, monetary profiteering, what else?

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
It does stick in the back of the mind...taking the reckless advantage option too far for most peoples' liking. Good indicators have been the movement of previous Essendon players to other clubs.

Watson must return the Brownlow for re-awarding to a more meritorious player that did not take performance-enhancing drugs. Watson, like all others of the affected Essendon players knew he (and they were) was taking such illicit substances as professional sportsmen and this was encouraged and endorsed by Hird at the helm. The AFL would be highly remiss if it did not impose sanctions, as appropriate, to those at Essendon who were identified as using performance-enhancing substances; in fact, there must also be sanctions against Essendon receiving 'sympathy' draft or recruiting rights because of this massive transgression. Courts and international authorities do not get these assessments wrong.

Across this summer season layoff where news of any kind is gold, yet hard to find, I just watched for the sixth time the Demonland Podcast of 'Rare Robbie Flower Highlights' - and it still makes me well-up inside, brings a tear to my eye and forces me to analyse in a myriad of ways just how good he was as a player and a team inspiration. Whilst this is a 'highlights' reel, there is so much of Robbie in this vault across so many games and against such talented opponents - all over the ground - that clearly confirm him as the best player I have ever had the privilege to see. For those who have not seen this podcast, may I strongly recommend it to you. Will there ever be another player this good?
