  1. His ability to churn out such consistent high quality games despite the bash and crash that goes with being a hard at it inside midfielder doesn’t get the acknowledgment it should. Hope his body and his form can hold on long enough to get the ultimate team reward he deserves. Time is surely ticking for Jonesy
  2. First time the royal blue jumper had made an appearance on the MCG since.....??
  3. He is a gun. Wins his own ball on the inside, has great acceleration from stoppages. Often does the give & get, gains plenty of metres and good kick. Doubt we have the draft fire power to get this done.
  4. Just arrived and a light drizzle at the moment. More showers forecast for the arvo.
  5. If you can come back and ping me on this in ten years time, I might think about you’ve got some type of argument. Meanwhile don’t bother
  6. Whateley had an opinion, then changes it as the results come though, what’s the issue with that? We’d have a much better country if our politicians were able to adapt to changes rather then stubbornly holding to their outdated views.
  7. Yesterday he had 2 tackles and no hit outs.
  8. His handball skill and decision making speed also makes it much harder for opposition to stop/tag him. Kicking takes much longer to execute than Clarry’s speed with his immediate get and go handballs. Most clubs have tried to tag him for at least some of the time, but it’s generally proving futile.
  9. Got howled down by the nuffies on here last week saying we should drop Weideman. Open your eyes, he is so far from AFL level it’s laughable.
  10. Gee sorry, didn’t realise I was in the presence of greatness.
  11. Spin it what ever way you like pal. Players who have as little impact as Weideman currently is having, don’t make it in AFL.
  12. It’s as obvious as 9 disposals and 1 tackle. That’s not good enough and if you think it is you’ve got NFI.
  13. It’s obvious Weideman is not up to AFL standard at the moment, we’re playing with 17 when he’s on the ground. Need to prioritise winning over development. Harmes racks up useless possessions, shocking disposal Out Weideman & Harmes In T Smith & Petracca
  14. Could be our first rising star nomination in a long time. On that, is Fritsch too old for rising star? Had another good game and clearly too good for VFL.
  15. Interested if others noticed that in packs, in his motion to pick up the ball Brayshaw pushes his head into the oncoming player. Only a matter of time to next concussion, helmet won’t save him
  16. Think you should take a break Joeboy, rubbish assessment. Garlett worried North defenders all day and took a lot of off the ball [censored] from them, yet still kicked 3. I’m not a Salem fan, but credit where it’s due, best 4 quarter game from him ever. Clarry showed he’s quickly working out how to beat a tag, the move forward in the last should have been tried earlier, easily beat his opponent
  17. Maybe Oliver isn’t going to play and either Brayshaw or Tyson are going to be the late change.
  18. Based on the deal the Pies did with Chris Mayne, we should still get a first rounder for Weid, even if he is very unlikely to ever make the grade.
  19. He’s got a tough road ahead, being a back up in case of injury. The value of key/tall forwards is being challenged by smaller forwards, who can tackle/pressure and add to midfield rotations. Be interesting to see over the weekend how many key forwards play in each side.
  20. Keen to join Supercoach if there’s a spot. Team name: The Chieftans
  21. If he did he’s done a [censored] poor job at it, because Salem’s not even within the same postcode of Hodge for hardness at the ball.
  22. Not convinced that Salem is as good as everyone else here rates him. Understand the illness and injuries history/excuse, though the latter is just part of being a footballer. This view about his elite disposal skills seems a bit over the top based on his performance to date, sure he hits targets every now and then, but he’s no where near the elite like Sam Mitchell, certainly haven’t seen anything to indicate he’s top class in being in & under and he’s never been a major possession accumulator. He’s a solid B class player for me based on evidence to date, but hope he proves me wrong and has a great year.
  23. I was there as an 11 year old with my Dad, a mad Melbourne supporter who sadly died the following year. Somehow he managed to get tickets to the stand behind the goals at the railway end (Sherrin Stand?). I'm pretty sure we were the only Melbourne supporters in that whole stand and my Dad gave me strict instructions to barrack quietly! Its all a bit hazy now but I remember Laurie Fowler, a fearless defender, getting KO'd and Henry Coles playing a blinder. We waited to hear the result of the Dogs game and like others I clearly remember the Collingwood members abuse once we heard Melbourne hadn't made the finals.
  24. As expected VFL have thrown out Watt's charge.
