Really enjoyed the game. Port were surprisingly strong even though no AFL players, they should have been well in front at end of 1st qtr. Kielty was BOG for me, wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a game some time this season. Baker looks a likely type, maybe won’t get a go this year, but has good speed and reasonable disposal skills. Tyson improved as the game went on and was a key driver in the win. Got caught holding the ball a couple of times and disposal a bit sloppy, but still looked a level above. Shout out to the Port nuffies. The abuse they hurled at the umps was pretty ordinary. Suspect the umps could hear the ‘feedback’, fair dinkum, who’d want to be an umpire.

Interesting reaction by JKH to a wayward pass from Garlett. Ball was slightly above JKH’s reach, so he just stopped on the spot, put his arms down and gave Garlett a look of ‘WTF?’

Was there that day with a bunch of mates and its became a very memorable day for the rest of my life. We celebrated big time after the game and found our way back to a Heildeberg pub. I got enough courage up around midnight to kiss a girl I’d been keen on for some time. We ended up getting married, have had 2 fantastic kids and are still together today. Have to thank the MFC and G Lyon for their helping hand in setting up my life.

His ability to churn out such consistent high quality games despite the bash and crash that goes with being a hard at it inside midfielder doesn’t get the acknowledgment it should. Hope his body and his form can hold on long enough to get the ultimate team reward he deserves. Time is surely ticking for Jonesy

He is a gun. Wins his own ball on the inside, has great acceleration from stoppages. Often does the give & get, gains plenty of metres and good kick. Doubt we have the draft fire power to get this done.

Whateley had an opinion, then changes it as the results come though, what’s the issue with that? We’d have a much better country if our politicians were able to adapt to changes rather then stubbornly holding to their outdated views.

Yesterday he had 2 tackles and no hit outs.

His handball skill and decision making speed also makes it much harder for opposition to stop/tag him. Kicking takes much longer to execute than Clarry’s speed with his immediate get and go handballs. Most clubs have tried to tag him for at least some of the time, but it’s generally proving futile.

Got howled down by the nuffies on here last week saying we should drop Weideman. Open your eyes, he is so far from AFL level it’s laughable.

Spin it what ever way you like pal. Players who have as little impact as Weideman currently is having, don’t make it in AFL.

It’s as obvious as 9 disposals and 1 tackle. That’s not good enough and if you think it is you’ve got NFI.
