    GAME DAY

We’re gonna get smashed I fear
  2. Gawn can look at himself. He was on SEN this morning talking about how he grew up a Richmond fan and was out on the [censored] celebrating in Punt Rd after they won the flag last year. Is that a club leader’s behaviour?
  3. Not at all, reckon lots of extra Tigers fans will turn out salivating at the prospect of a 10-15 goal win, not unreasonably after last Sunday’s performance.
  4. Hawthorn aren’t the yardstick of the competition anymore and good as T Mitchell is he’s one man. Nev Jetta on Rioli and Omac on Roughead should be matchups that we win, Brayshaw has played his best footy to date in midfield and if he’s a straight in for Tyson I think we’ll win the midfield contest Mitchell notwithstanding. Their backline is good but if our smalls bring their intensity from last week and Hogan continues his form to date we will win this one, not comfortably and we’ll probably be reduced to impotent swearing at some point but I think we have them covered all over the field. Less nervous for this than I was for North.
  5. You’re having a laugh right? The MFC Coterie supporters club fulfills exactly the same ‘business niche’ you suggest and has been in existence for 75 + years. If you and your business minded friends were such diehard MFC supporters why not join that group instead of going to the Tigers?
  6. Brisbane should have beaten Port last week and North smashed the Saints (who were tipped to be there or thereabouts for finals preseason.) There’ll be no easy games this year for any team.
  7. As a sandgroper I’m well aware of how strong Subiaco are, but the fact remains they destroyed the reserve outfit of an AFL team. They haven’t done that to Peel since they aligned to the Dockers (not that I can recall though open to correction) and lost the last two flags to them.
  8. Hmm their midfield is average, Naitanui in masks a lot of their deficiencies. Don’t doubt the stadium will help them snag some wins but my point was more that Geelong are over-rated. Eagles reserves are bog-average too they were pumped by a non-aligned clubs in their first game of the WAFL season last week.
  9. Can’t believe we lost to Geelong. Credit to the Eagles but they’re not a contender this year. Neither are Geelong going by this evidence. We really [censored] up in Rd 1

  11. Going by the evidence on BigFooty (such as it is) Port fans were not happy with his efforts today, especially that last quarter. Seemingly sections of their crowd were giving it to him in the last when he missed a gimme from 35 out and turned over a simple handpass in Ports inside 50.
  12. What’s the point of bombing it in long every time when we’re playing a smaller forward line? Complete rubbish. Goodwin is a peanut
  13. Turning this off for the sake of my sanity
  14. Feeling absolutely sick about this one. Whose turn is it to Kent Kingsley for Norf?
  15. Travel factor? That didn’t stop the Crows, Brions, Eagles, Port or Swans beating Victorian teams at the MCG, Adelaide choked hard last year as did the Swans before them, Hawks 2013-2015 we’re simply the greatest team of all time no one was beating them on their day and lest people forget Sydney managed to beat them in 2012. Keep Grand Final day, it’s our unique day of days much like Super Bowl or the All-Ireland Gaelic football final, the game that makes the country stop.
  16. Probably not now Melksham has opened his mouth. There seems to be a correlation between an MFC player opening their mouth about the importance of the next game, etc and the team turning in an insipid performance in said game.
  17. Yes I still remember 2013 when they destroyed us by 100+ on the ‘G. Getting the monkey off the back is one thing but we owe that rabble of a club some serious pain.
  18. Just f*cking smash them already. It’s been too long it’s beyond a joke.
  19. Not sure how McKenna warranted a place either he was decent but not a standout player.
  20. WC got reamed by the umps vs Sydney so not sure that advantage transferred from Subiaco.
  21. This has been an underdogs round, barring ourselves and GWS, both of whom had to fight to the last 10 minutes to win, the favourites have lost in all games. Shaping up to be another roller coaster season
  22. Maybe Sydney just aren’t as good as we thought? Buddy and questionable umpiring saw them past the Eagles, if he goes down they’ll be in serious trouble
  23. Last year we’d have lost that game, when they were coming at us in the last. Clayton Oliver should be in the leadership group, when we needed to get going he stood up and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.
