This may sound extremely offensive and ridiculous and at risk of derision, but is there a chance that Collingwood are into the Weed in a big way with his history (eg Eddie's bitter coverage of Weeds first game with a brief rundown of Collingwood history) and are maybe in his ear to come to Collingwood? His slow development might actually be his heart not being in it. They Pies are notorious deceivers around trades as we've now learnt. Of course Weed is only a young kid so he's also probably naturally taking time to develop.

This may sound premature but perhaps the calls for Hunt to play on wing or in middle may be premature. He still does seem to look like a defender through and through, and like Frost, seems to be more of a straight-line runner. Doesn't seem like a 360 degree player as of yet. But that's really only two JLT games. He's a scintillating player but he could be one of a handful feeling the pressure to hold down a spot, if he doesn't get back to his best within the first few rounds (Though every player has to hold down a spot too)

Perhaps what could fix draft pick tanking is actually the last 4 teams playing off against each other in the later rounds but with handicaps, with 18th obviously having no handicap. Be it points, rotations or whatever.

The calls for Fritsch to play round 1 are a bit premature. It was one way traffic today due to how lacklustre North were, would like to see how he goes in a more tightly fought contest without any easy goals from poor marking by the opposition. As well as seeing how the other players contesting his position also play.

Why not both? If we're into Ollie Wines, then i'd think he would be viewed as an upgrade on Tyson, Brayshaw, Salem or ANB. And that's who we'd trade for him with a draft picks. If we were good enough to make the finals this year, but limited in what we could serve up and subsequently departed in week 1 or week 2, then we'd be looking to upgrade on the firepower at our disposal imo. Have to be ruthless with who we'd need to give them. As for outside run, i don't see many that are worth too much, and we'd only need to arrange the cap space and lose something not really that valuable in terms of draft pick/trade or get them through free agency. I think this year may reveal a few list suprises that could cover for this supposed dire need for outside run too. Edit: The club used the sample principle in acquiring Harrison Petty, pick quality if its available. Work out how to shuffle around the rest of the list after.
