  1. Hilarious to see Adelaide commenters now slagging off Lever saying he wouldn't of made much difference if he hadn't played in the GF and that he was too slow and not tall enough to go with Riewoldt etc. Really spruiking that two first round pick demand well!
  2. Here's an insanely fun idea. How about as part of the 10 + 27 Lever deal: we trade our 2018 picks for Adelaides 2018 picks. It would be the ultimate battle within a battle. Back ourselves in to go past them. Would be the ultimate show of bravado. We'd collectively need two gigantic balls to do it though.
  3. Well the South Australians 'vic bias' complex is anything but rational. Let's hope it never comes to the draft, but if it does and in the extreme for hypothetical sake: I would be concerned that if Collingwood got him for pick 6 in the nab draft, he has no choice but to play for two years or not sign, in that case he would be crazy to not sign (if we are not willing to pay him an extra 750k for a missed year in the next contract that we offer in 2018) And if we are willing to pay him for a missed year the following year with a bigger contract offer, how would we go about picking him up next year?
  4. Which puts Collingwood pitted squarely in the ring against us. There might be a conspiring of both Adel+Coll parties on this one and has been for months.
  5. Aren't there clubs like North and St Kilda who are not using their entire cap currently and may not by the end of the trade period? I don't see any rumours of players going there.
  6. Isn't that the NAB national draft not not psd ?
  7. But the threat would be that if North picked him, he would nominate for Pre season draft next year and they could not get a trade for him?
  8. That partially answers it. I was curious about the duration. If they will only offer 3 years and he sign's it, does that mean he can not break a contract and nominate for the draft next year but can only be traded?
  9. My question is, can he walk into the pre-season draft as a contracted player next year if he is not offered 1 year, but offered 3 years or 'he doesn't play for a year' from North but chooses to to sign and nominate next year?
  10. The quote a month ago from Tex was "We hope he does the right thing and re-signs" Apparently the right thing is only what Tex thinks is right.
  11. How does preseason draft work? Can we officially offer Lever 1 year for 1.2 million front loaded with the rest payed over 3 years, so that no clubs will pick him up? Or can a club like North offer him a contract for 3 years but it has to be done at 1.3 mill per year, and if so he can't walk into the draft but they can trade him next year for picks?
  12. Vandenburg was best 22 every week in his first season while injury free, he's superior to vfl standard and has unluckily been crueled by injury. He has an extra year contract because he was AFL standard 2 years ago, unlike Kennedy. Vandenburg offers physicality and goal kicking nous that many other players on our list don't offer.
  13. I know this topic was about value, but wouldnt Lever free up Hibberd to play up the ground too and on the wing for a longer period of matchtime? I cant see Hibbo as intercept marker and Lever as wing nor can i see Frost/Lever/Hib/Omac flying for a pack mark together. So bringing in Lever could be seen as a trade that fills two holes or three if TMAC plays forward, Hibberd and TMAC can also still play lock down intercept defenders if required.
  14. Well seeing as though he did not play this year, we may as well reminisce about the moment he rag dolled Luke Hodge. Hope he gets to his best, because like Pedo, he can impact when the ball is on the ground with bone crunchingly tough forward pressure. I know it's the new fad to point to Richmonds small forwards, but he wouldnt look out of place in there.
  15. Surely a clubs objective is to create a system where not one player is needed but is replaceable and slots into the 22 like a cog, especially not ones with 2 years left. Its the blokes you sign for 4-5 years who would qualify as absolutely needed. So hopefully we dont need Lewis, but instead prefer having him in the 22 for his expertise and overall dynamic. Semantics.
  16. Was it Garlands dad in his tassie pub offering free drinks for the pre game of our match against the kangas? Surely thats reason enough to give Garland another season.
  17. [Assuming it's true] is just me engaging in a thought-exercise, We've been doing the same thought exercise all year with Hogan in the frame for next year. We all did the same when someone made up a [censored] Rockliff rumor in trade week last year. Most of us are clearly unproductive and like engaging in this stuff.
  18. This is fascinating, assuming it's true, who do we target to add to the forward line in this trade or the next trade period? We'd need to add some finishing goal kicking class if Pedo and TMAC were to be our spine next year. Watts, Garlett, Petracca + Menzel/Fritsch/Crameri/Balic etc
  19. Went to School of Hard Knocks From Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia Motorbike + Tats Lever to Collingwood confirmed.

    Whats his source?
  21. Indeed. Despite being on the sidelines for 2 years, he's one of those project players you keep around for the extra year to see if they can show you again why you initially had faith and selected them above others 2 years earlier. It would be an absolute waste to delist a player who's struggled with injuries. Look at Alex Johnson, Daniel Menzel and Morabito, generously given many years to come good
  22. Surely its one or the other. They probably did not bite on adding another forward.
  23. "There should be space for a medium to big sized 6"2 forward who can leap and take a mark with natural instinct" tonight after Dangerfields 5 goal first half. Could be applied to Fritsch perhaps? Obviously he's not a mid, but just recruiting decent players who have a natural goal instinct and building a dynamic around what you've got, rather than filling the forward line with utilities like Bugg, Harmes, ANB, Melk etc
  24. Not that i'm a footballer, but as a fan, it doesn't exclude the possibility that the melbourne demons or any club you go for an interview with that you supported growing up, might be full of a bit of a [censored] atmosphere and the coach doesn't sound like he knows that much in comparison with others you've interviewed for. Personal fit etc
