If Bugg kicks 0.6 in a prelim and we lose by a few points, GET DAHLHAUS -

The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
deelete my account replied to Ugottobekidding's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any update on Jack this week? What has he been eating for breakfast? Where has he been spotted out and about? Any photo's? Did he train the house down? Hello to anyone who's coming into the thread because Port Adelaide player Jack Watts has had his thread bumped again. -
Petracca wants to start in the guts.
deelete my account replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Perhaps he's just a larger mass, so objects appear to be moving past him slower, than with other players. Sort of like when a supernova explodes, it engulfs the entire solar system at a fast rate, but from a distance it looks slow -

As long as TMAC doesn't indulge in drunken midnight bushwalking, we'll probably be alright. -
The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
deelete my account replied to Ugottobekidding's topic in Melbourne Demons
Are you kidding me? There's going to be a "The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread" at the top of the forum all year? How about deleting this thread Mods and telling everyone who wants to have an ongoing week to week commentary to go over to wattsland.com/forums? -
Perhaps it's more a reflection of a lack of enthusiasm with the rest of the competition, and probably why people are on the Port bandwagon too. Not many other 'up and coming' clubs to be excited over. Who wants to see Adelaide, Geelong, Sydney or GWS back up there? Zzz

It was overplayed because of the whole Collingwood first game he had and coming full circle or something. Just another meme for the year.

Luckily for Carlton, they'll never have to experience another 5 goal second half qualifying final from a first year player again On the contrary, I think it's about time people saw the Watts trade in a wider context. The cringey persistent lamentations over the Watts trade (on another forum) have been met with a stern response from me about look at what we got in return and giving Fritsch a chance over the next few years, to actually judge the second round pick trade. Which i don't think was a mere coincidence personally. Having said that, none of the burden of having to live up to another players potential, should ever be placed on his shoulders. He only has the burden of living up to pick 31.

Post Match Discussion: JLT #2 vs St. Kilda

This may sound extremely offensive and ridiculous and at risk of derision, but is there a chance that Collingwood are into the Weed in a big way with his history (eg Eddie's bitter coverage of Weeds first game with a brief rundown of Collingwood history) and are maybe in his ear to come to Collingwood? His slow development might actually be his heart not being in it. They Pies are notorious deceivers around trades as we've now learnt. Of course Weed is only a young kid so he's also probably naturally taking time to develop. -
Offensive towards TMAC's character rubbish too.

Post Match Discussion: JLT #2 vs St. Kilda

This may sound premature but perhaps the calls for Hunt to play on wing or in middle may be premature. He still does seem to look like a defender through and through, and like Frost, seems to be more of a straight-line runner. Doesn't seem like a 360 degree player as of yet. But that's really only two JLT games. He's a scintillating player but he could be one of a handful feeling the pressure to hold down a spot, if he doesn't get back to his best within the first few rounds (Though every player has to hold down a spot too) -
No half measures, just have a night grand final with Panasonic as major sponsor. We'd have our hands on the cup already.

Cornes has us making the top 4? -
Reads like fear and projection to me. Richo needs to deliver this year and he's afraid these young kids probably wont.

Clarkson admits Hawks tanked at end of 2017
deelete my account replied to Mister Ed's topic in Melbourne Demons
Perhaps what could fix draft pick tanking is actually the last 4 teams playing off against each other in the later rounds but with handicaps, with 18th obviously having no handicap. Be it points, rotations or whatever. -
Recruiting - going after the big fish
deelete my account replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Mac forward, Pedo depth Hunt / Hibbo / Brayshaw in middle Lever in Defence, Frost depth Cant the trade be looked at more than acquiring an "11th" in b&F player? All these moves should be as valuable collectively as the value of a big fish -
Win-Loss ratio ...turning at the bye
deelete my account replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we're 9-3 then i guarantee we'll beat Geel, Rich & Adel and lose to Haw, Ess & StK. Pies / Nth losses are too much of a doomsday scenario for a saturday -
Add Hunt and Hibberd in to the mix at times too. Very nervous opposition. The Lever inclusion looks more and more like a masterstroke now with flow on effects all over the field. We're only one non-game in though heh

Post Match Discussion: JLT #1 vs North Melbourne
deelete my account replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The calls for Fritsch to play round 1 are a bit premature. It was one way traffic today due to how lacklustre North were, would like to see how he goes in a more tightly fought contest without any easy goals from poor marking by the opposition. As well as seeing how the other players contesting his position also play. -
Why not both? If we're into Ollie Wines, then i'd think he would be viewed as an upgrade on Tyson, Brayshaw, Salem or ANB. And that's who we'd trade for him with a draft picks. If we were good enough to make the finals this year, but limited in what we could serve up and subsequently departed in week 1 or week 2, then we'd be looking to upgrade on the firepower at our disposal imo. Have to be ruthless with who we'd need to give them. As for outside run, i don't see many that are worth too much, and we'd only need to arrange the cap space and lose something not really that valuable in terms of draft pick/trade or get them through free agency. I think this year may reveal a few list suprises that could cover for this supposed dire need for outside run too. Edit: The club used the sample principle in acquiring Harrison Petty, pick quality if its available. Work out how to shuffle around the rest of the list after.
