There's nothing wrong with losing. It's how we lost.

There was also a lot of bad luck with small errors in front of goals at both ends, missed goals which could have kept the momentum going our way and there was some blatant cheating by Hawthorn. The momentum swung to Hawthorn and it was game over. The pushing the man off the mark may be (barely) legal under the laws of the game but interesting that this week the umpires are calling out to players not to do it whereas last week when Hawthorn  were doing it all the time, it was allowed. By the last quarter it was clear that we were not going to win. It’s a shame that the players felt that it wasn’t worth trying at that stage but they were probably right. It’d be pretty hard to throw your body on the line, risk injury and  get totally exhausted when the game is clearly over. Yes, percentage is important and I know many on here think players should just try, try, try regardless but they’re only human. (Unlike some Demonlanders -LOL)!!

He was lazy, avoided contests, didn’t tackle nearly hard enough and went out and got drunk frequently. Good riddance.

Curnow had never kicked more than 2 goals in a game before tonight. So no different to Weeds. 

This is a year for Sam to develop a healthy, strong AFL body. Apparently with ankle surgery and a long preseason in rehab and not rushed in to AFL games that has hopefully been achieved. At VFL he has to find consistency with getting to and winning contests. If he's body is right he'll be able to rotate in as back up ruck and that will do him wonders.

I couldn’t give two $hits if we scrape into the finals. The only success is a premiership after 54 years. Until that happens there is no “success”.

They’re experienced players. They don’t need a run in game that risks them getting a major season-ending injury when they’re half trying. They’ll be in peak form if they’ve trained hard in the pre- season.

Some of these guys seem to be as fragile as china dolls. Too many injuries are creeping back or staying around (yet again). Van den Berg looks like he’s finished. Viney’s foot could easily be more of a worry than they're letting on. Jones is getting old. Tyson is injury prone. Weidemann is fragile.
