  1. I agree with this. If they arent punished severely it opens the door for everyone to do whatever they like. Itll turn into even more of an arms race and ill have no faith in the comp anymore.
  2. they absolutely have a catch all clause on substances not approved for human use. think about the implications of "not approved for human use" means. here are some things that are not approved for human use; bleach cyanide asbestos
  3. how the hell does he still think it was ok to take? if it isn't on the OK list its banned. simple. if he was a cyclist his whole team would be withdrawn. sad part is that I can see all those Essendon players getting 6 months (from mid sept to mid march)
  4. its like the kid who cant read. well, you dont get extra reading sessions to help you, because you didnt concentrate a few years ago.
  5. i had a listen to the rub on MMM this arvo and they pretty much thought that because we have picked badly in the past we dont deserve another. WE HAVE BEEN GARBAGE FOR 7 YEARS. essentially the theory is that we are SO BAD we dont deserve help to get better on field, even though the entire competition wants us to be better on field. go figure.
  6. Demonland in an alternate universe? Is everyone nice to eachother?
  7. hang on a second. the board told neeld when he started that there was a culture problem. neeld comes in and says "We are starting over". gets rid of egos like moloney who sulked when he wasnt given the captaincy. brings in non egos who are literally there to work hard and show the kids how its done, as well as talented kids. people panic when we dont get results immediately. i didnt expect us to be this bad but consider this about our list; key backs (tick) key forwards (tick) young captains with a heap of potential (tick) some young midfielders also with a heap of potential (tick) the midfield is the gaping hole in our list - but it is also the one that is quickest to fix. the culture of the club amongst the players WAS toxic. this is on the path to being fixed - if you think a culture can be changed overnight, dream on, but it CAN be changed.
  8. somone considering if they want the role or not to me is 10000% better than someone who just wants it for ego....
  9. the pies scored 89 points yesterday from turnovers. our skill errors. our effort and application was there all day. our skill level will improve.
  10. Can anyone enlighten me as to why watts had a free paid AGAINST him for holding in the goal square when he was doing his best impression of the angel of the north?
  11. I have not passed judgement on cam's time as ceo yet. I didn't really feel comfortable with it, given Ive got no personal knowledge of what goes on. However, after last night, its pretty clear that this is all his mess. a new CEO comes in and says we cant sack the coach because the footy department is too messed up, we don't even know if he can actually coach or not. the same new CEO says he cant believe that the 4 different facets of the footy department report to him. its clear that Cameron was trying to run the footy department and clear that he wasn't doing it very well. personally, im stoked that we didn't sack anyone last night. and that the clear message to the blood thirsty media was that "its just another board meeting". let peter Jackson sort out the footy department by hiring a gun as head of department, give neeld the rest of his contract and judge him at the end of next year.
  12. Bulldust. calling someone an ape because of the colour of their skin is extremely racist because it infers that because of the colour of their skin a person is not human or less of a human being. disgusting behaviour. the letters in the herald sun today saying that goodes should harden up totally miss this fact. as an aside, whole soccer clubs in Europe are sanctioned and play games behind closed doors because their supporters make monkey noises when black players get the ball.
  13. not go as a protest? no bloody way. summon the enthusiasm to go? a much much more difficult task.
  14. yesterday the players were mentally broken after freo KICKED THEIR 2nd GOAL!!!! we are soooo poor mentally its not funny. the Richmond player who said the easiest team to play was us because they knew we would break eventually was spot on. and the worst thing? this has nothing to do with skill level and everything to do with attitude and mental fortitude. WE HAVE NONE OF IT AND IT DISGUSTS ME
  15. How do we get through this? Alcohol.
  16. so watts, the bloke weve all defended for years and years, put our hope in, wants out. if he goes, [censored] the club, [censored] the afl and [censored] footy, im off.
  17. there isn't enough space on the internet for a full player by player review of the afl side..
  18. i have a solution. its confusing so read carefully. two divisions of 9. top and bottom. each team plays all the other 17 teams once and everyone from their division twice. 24 games (with no NAB cup) the top 6 from the top division and the top 2 from the bottom play off in the current top 8 finals system for the flag. the top 2 teams from the bottom division also automatically go into the top division for the following year. teams 8 and 9 from the top division automatically drop out of the top division. teams 3 and 4 from the bottom 9 play off in the first week of finals. they then earn the right to play the 7th placed team in the top division in the 2nd week of finals - the prize is a spot in the top division the following year. this means that at the end of the year everyone has something to play for, except the 5 bottom teams at the bottom of the bottom division. (although even team 5 would be fighting to make the play off to play 7th) it also means that everyone has a chance of winning the flag still and it means that teams would play more games against teams of a similar quality. the most games you could play in a season would be 28 including finals. as for the draft - just order it on the total number of wins in the last 5 years.
  19. I read a lot. I thought it was the best because of the way I felt afterwards - sad but inspired, and it gave me hope for the dees. one little step at a time.
  20. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/the-dream-that-never-dies-20130515-2jmx6.html probably the best article i've ever read.
