  1. Coldnt disagree more, Nugget

It cant end this way. It wont.

If anybody deserves a send off game, it is Neita.

I want the chance to go to the MCG to see him play one more time. Knowing it will be his last ever contest with the MFC. it will be sad, but it will be great to see him out there once more, and how amazing it would be if he kicked a bag.

    Maybe Round 22?

I absolutely agree, and what's more, I'll bet that Neita won't allow his career to finish like this. He'll work through his injury, announce his retirement and then beat the hell out of whoever he comes up against in his farewell match. Dunno who we play in the last few rounds (I know Port is one of them), but if we play MCG in round 22, there would be a huge crowd.

  2. I love reminding my Richmond supporting brother about that! Best part about it is that Richmond had two bites at Franklin and still missed, taking Deledio (admittedly he was always going to go #1) and Tambling instead. Great stuff.

I don't remember much about this draft (other than the names of the players) - was Deledio a 'certainty' to go no.1 like Kreuzer was? If not, was Franklin's name mentioned?

  3. I can't believe more positive things aren't being said about him. I thought he showed a lot of promise and fits the game plan well - he attacks the ball, runs and carries, and can actually kick to a target. He's got strength too. Hopefully he keeps it going because he could fill the void down back.

  4. Fevola is my main concern.

Two years ago when we made finals, they beat us twice with the Fev killing us in at least one of those games.

Last year, we beat the Blues twice, both times Fevola missed.

They are an improved team this year with the likes of Judd, Stevens and development to their younger players.

    Are we an improved team?

No, but then again, who expected them to beat Collingwood last week? No one, really. So even though, on paper, the different team is Carlton, we are not without a chance.

  5. Sorry about the reality check DeeReaming how about this.....

In a sensational return to champagne football the Might Melbourne Demons embarrassed and humiliated the Carlton Blues by thrashing them senseless.

The 150 point winning margin -impressive in itself- is made even more impressive considering Carlton only managed 3 behinds for the match -2 were rushed behinds.

Carlton gun recruit Chris Judd was stretchered off less than 30 seconds into the first quarter. He was simulateously hip and shouldered by Brock McLean and Nathan Jones then fell on by Jamar who timed his centre-bounce leap 29 seconds too late.

Brenda Fevola was relegated to the bench after half-time with 0 possessions. He was later ejected from the match -in an AFL first- for urinating on the bench, the boundary fence and several Blues supporters.

Cale Morton starred with Colin Sylvia finally finding his long-awaited form both kicking 6 goals each.

Thats the funniest thing I've read in years. The sad bit about is that probably the only truthful thing you've got is Jamar's crappiness.

  6. I'm starting to think not :(

Carlton is probably our best chance (can you trust them to win 2 in a row) but it's my wedding weekend, so can't make it.

Brisbane is at the GABBA and thats out of the question

Freo at the G is doubtful...but they lost to Richmond at home by 10 goals, so you never know.

    Adelaide at AAMI - LOL

    Hawthorn at MCG - LOL x 2

St Kilda at TD - LOL x 3

I thought I could at least get 1 farewell win before I head off to Seattle, but alas it doesn't look likely. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

Hope the second half picks up for you poor suffering souls :P

Freo has gotta be our one and only chance should we fluff our chance this week. We will lose to Brisbane by quite a lot given that Bradshaw invariably kicks 5 or more goals against us. The last three you've mentioned will be interesting...

  7. Based on his performance against Hawthorn I don't want him in the side until he puts in more of a defensive effort and works on his mobility. Having said that he's the future of our forward line so he needs AFL game time.

  8. I noticed on the weekend that at most clearances around the ground Jamar would come sprinting in from wherever he was and contest the ruck WITH WHITE ALREADY THERE.. I cannot for the life of me understand why we need to have 2 ruckmen in the one contest (possibly because they're both pretty crap). Seriously, if this was the directive from the coaches, what the hell were they thinking? If not, then Jamar should be shot.

  9. Bate hasn't played in over a month. He needs a run with Sandy before coming back into the side.

    With that in mind:

    Out: Garland

    In: Whelan

Robbo and Sylvia = thin ice.

They have 2 more rounds to change their attitude or they can go and win Sandy another flag.

Sounds good to me, though I think Sylvia and Robbo only deserve one more go. I also say CJ out for Moloney
