Here's a question I want answered: No Oscar, No Melbourne?? I'm kidding of course...
-
Here is what you posted earlier: As I said, nothing to see here.

All we need to do is make finals. Anything can happen there. Once we can't do that, then it's season over. I'm happy for them to tweak a few things, swap players around a little and so forth, to get things right. But the season I was hoping for isn't over.... yet.
-
Maybe for you. But not for me. When we can't mathematically make the finals, then it is season over. Until then I'll hold on to the small sliver of sanity I have left and believe we can make changes now and turn our fortunes around.
-
Clicked in the thread, saw who posted, left again. Nothing to see here. @Engorged Onion I don't include you in that.
-
We don't really deserve them.
-
And you may well be right, bing. If that was the case then the club can't exactly be forthcoming with the information, but I still firmly believe our list is more than strong enough to challenge for a flag in the coming years. These results don't change that.

Good post, Doc. I also think, and this reflects badly on those assistant coaches and medicos and so forth, that we were totally unprepared for a shorter pre-season. We sent plenty of players off for surgery and never recovered. We aren't fit enough to run out games and we don't have the ticker to run and chase and do all the things that made us a great side last year. We look two steps behind everyone, and I think a large part of that is down to having a nightmare of a pre-season. I agree that we still have a list that can push for a flag, but something has to change. I think having some fresh eyes, thoughts and ideas around the physios, how we train, get fit etc will be really good, and I also think a change or two with our assistant's wouldn't go astray either.

You can't beat it. How can I possibly let the outcome of the game affect the wonder and excitement that she will have in the morning when she sees the eggs on her little table? Simple answer is that it won't. The Dees won't factor into a thing tomorrow. I hope your son enjoys the Easter Egg hunt in the morning!

I'm taking this quote from Karl Pilkington and changing it from Manchester United to us, but I think it's kind of fitting right now: "I feel like supporting Melbourne is kind of like having a tortoise as a pet. I had a tortoise, and they are not entertaining to watch. You don't watch them, but you know you've got a bit of responsibility to show some interest."

Do whatever floats your boat, dieter.

I totally agree, mate. But that's what you expect. After a game like today posters will attack every player and also claim that every player we have traded out or cut would have made a difference and are absolute guns. Regular as clockwork.
-
She's four, mate. I'll let her believe it for a little while yet.
-
Oooooooooh, nice one mate. Absolutely cutting.
-
Look at who posted it, Nash. The bloke 'aint the sharpest tool in the shed.

This thread is going to be full of absolute gold.

Oh, good to see you turn up big fella. You love a loss.

So... yeah. Only saw the first 15 minutes or so and had to go by little bits and pieces and looking at the stats as I was out for dinner. Great night to go out by the way. Seems like I missed another wonderful performance. I won't read the posts prior to this, as I'm sure some people will have necked themselves already, but it's clear we've got some serious issues. You can single out players, but if you go by what has come before today, there are issues with our game plan, especially at the 'G. But I've moved on. Not even close to upset or annoyed. It's not that important right now. I won't begrudge anyone their anger and I'm not saying it's wrong to feel that way. In fact, it's probably wrong for me to feel almost... indifference? But that's the way it is. It probably helps that I didn't see the game to be honest. The sun will come up tomorrow when my daughter thinks the Easter Bunny has come, and that's all that matters.

Yeah. We stink.
-
We are the better side. Just butchering it once we go forward. Fix that up and we win.
-
No late changes for either side.
-
Have it at, DD!

Seriously Chook, this game means nothing. We took off most of our decent players at half time with ANZAC Day in mind. How you can be negative about what is clearly good player management is beyond me. The result is meaningless. Also, the fact they left ANB out there is probably reflective of his short term chances of getting a run back in the senior side. Looks like he is a long way back.

Anyone else feeling pretty good about this game? I mean, after last season and some of what we've served up this year, you would almost have no right to be. The pace the Saints can bring is a worry for us, especially on the 'G, and we've not given any real indication that it's about to change. Rolling the Swans is great for our confidence, but they aren't exactly Usain Bolt out there. But I just have a feeling that this is the game that gets us going. The Saints aren't all that skillful, nor are they big scorers, and I think the additions of Jetta and Lewis, as well as dropping Oscar, makes our backline look better across the board. I'm feeling a five goal win today, but one in which we keep them at arms length. Don't quote this later today if we get rolled.
