No idea why people are getting their knickers in a twist about no ANB. He's playing well, sure, but it's hardly something to get upset about. He'll get his chance somewhere down the line.

The only people making any suggestions that he's going back to Perth are.... from Perth. Of course they'll take that narrative, it sells. Still no doubt in my mind he'll stay.

I assume that they will play Salem in defence, so what else changes? Having Michie, Wagner, Hunt and Jetta as well makes me wonder if we have one to many small backmen. Would they possibly play Salem forward?

It's amazing to think how that's happened. 2014 and his big 5 minute burst against the Tigers isn't all that long ago. He hasn't reached those heights since.

Perth?

You could make the argument that he is the perfect foil for Gawn - a bloke who can play forward and then be a legitimate pinch hitter in the ruck. It's a moot point though because I think we need to strengthen other areas and there will be other clubs willing to pay over the odds to get him. I don't get the Weideman argument though - we like to talk him up, but he's a kid who is unproven at AFL level. Yes, he's coming along nicely at Casey which is great, but he's still an unknown quantity at AFL level.

4 years isn't THAT bad for a 27 year old. There will be plenty of clubs, Freo included, who will throw truckloads of cash at him though.

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree that he is essential insurance. He is decent in the ruck and he has that big body that the two King boys don't have. Happy for him to sign on.

Why would you want Brown? What sets him apart from what we have?

You made an outlandish claim, which is your strength, that only ONE player visits their family during the season. Can you back that up? Of course you can't, because it's not true. As others have said, some of our own draftees and younger players have done this already during the season. It's nothing. Even Roos mentioned it in his press conference yesterday. I don't claim to know everything, I just don't go over the top about something that is nothing to worry about.

Just like your claim? C'mon mate, you can play the game better than that.

Righto Curry. Go ahead and get your knickers in a twist. I'm impressed that you know the comings and goings of each player from every club in the competition. Must take up plenty of your time.

The bloke can't get a run for Collingwood. Plus he isn't an 'attacking' backman, something you knock a few of ours for, and his disposal is suspect. Plus I haven't seen him shutting down any forwards lately. Brown is not an upgrade. Hansen might be a fringe defender, true, but he's a fringe defender at a club with one of the better defenses in the competition. I know who I'd rather have. To be honest your interest in Brown surprises me.
