  1. So essentially we pass on picks 10, 14, 27 and Watts for Lever and Pick 35. Seems a little steep if you ask me.
  2. Great photo that one. What a player he was.
  3. I imagine this is old dee right now:
  4. It always went against my better judgement, but I always thought there might be something there with Kennedy. No idea what that was, but it quickly became apparent that he was in no man's land - too slow to be a half forward, not good enough to be a midfielder. Therefore he was never going to find a spot in our side. Cast aside twice now, doubt he gets another look in. All the best, Ben.
  5. Yep. He either didn't work hard enough over the pre-season or Goodwin never rated him at all and planned to move him on at the end of the season. Kudos to him during the season for always playing well, but as you say, he lacked some key attributes to hold down a spot in the AFL side.
  6. I have some faith in this info. The HUN tried to drum up some controversy with an article about the Pies scuppering our deal, but it was only based on the idea that they could offer more. Means nothing if Lever doesn't want to go there, and the above information is consistent with what's been said for a while now.
  7. Kennedy had a pretty decent year in the magoos and still couldn't crack a single game. I won't be surprised if it's him that gets the chop.
  8. So he's not to blame at all for the lack of professionalism he has shown, especially at the beginning of this year when he is looked upon not only as a senior player but as someone who needs to set an example as well? I'm not laying all the blame at his feet, but to suggest it's all down to the club and Jack has done nothing wrong is akin to sticking your head in the sand.
  9. So he's not to blame at all for the club wanting to trade him? Really, Ralph?
  10. I'd rather Pick 14 be a part of the deal somehow. We can do much more with that than we could do with Tippett.
  11. He slept with Stringer as well.
  12. He's taking it all second hand from either the club twitter accounts or from trade radio. No mail involved at all.
  13. Don't they? That's strange. I've heard that we are in line to get Bontempelli, Lever, Tom Lynch and Ollie Wines for nothing more than a 4th round pick. Can't name my source as I don't need to for a rumour.
  14. Demons 11 said 'Sloane out of Adelaide'. Couldn't be more over the top if he tried.
  15. Adding Elvis to their midfield to replace Ablett will be a start.
  16. When they don't quote a source, or add a link, I instantly think they're talking absolute rubbish.
  17. With Sydney showing interest, could we potentially coax a first rounder out of them? Maybe wishful thinking, though. Same here. Absolutely shattered the day that was announced. The club was still there the next day and so was I. It will be the same with this as well.
  18. Throwing him away? You don't think some of the blame for this lays at his feet as well?
  19. Crows have short memories. We were happy to trade Scott Thompson to them for just a first round pick when he was desperate to go home. We did it early in trade week too if I remember correctly, and we did it with minimal fuss. They would do well to treat Lever the same way.
  20. Good to see you still around @dazzledavey36!
  21. Out of curiosity Bobby, why will things backfire? Jack is one player. It's not as if someone like Clayton Oliver has been put up for trade. Watts has talent but he rarely affects the outcome of a game. So why would things backfire? Makes little sense to me.
  22. He had a tough game in the GF, but so did many of his teammates. The way we want to play will suit Lever superbly. We play a zone defence and we need players who can actually zone off, support their teammates and effect either a spoil or a mark. Lever is already one of the best in the competition at this. We can still have Oscar, Frost and even T Mac playing the key defensive role with Lever roaming as a support player. It will be absolutely invaluable and he will save us goals week after week. I don't want to pay a steep price for him, but I'm confident that whatever we do pay he will pay back ten fold in the coming years.
  23. Going by Demonland logic, that means Impey, Varcoe and SPS are a chance to play for Melbourne next year! Quick, someone email Jon Ralph with the news!
  24. Go find the papers? Yeah, I'll just pull those out of my back pocket. You can keep spinning it, but it always lands the same. He's been dropped by Bailey, Neeld, Roos and Goodwin. That speaks volumes for his consistency, even after 157 games.
  25. Plenty, if you go by his form this year.
