  1. No it's not. There are heaps of deals going on. Mahoney said there was a hold up because of other deals going on. We may have already got other deals going that see us get a second round pick in return. Rolled over? You couldn't be going more over the top if you tried.
  2. I wasn't too enthused when it first broke that we were interested, but our track record over the past 2 years has been very good and I'm happy to back the club. Pick 25 seems overs but it's not really. It's a second rounder which is what a 24 year old, 100 gamer is worth on the market these days. All the best Jake, I'm hoping like crazy that you can come straight in a be a positive, consistent contributor to the side.
  3. It's Pick 25 because of where we finished. It makes a pick in the third round, which is in the early 40s, too low. If we finish higher up the ladder then our second rounder would be somewhere between 30-32. That's just the way it is. If we get something back that's a bonus.
  4. He must be related to hogans_heroes then...
  5. I'm not exactly comfortable with the deal either but he isn't worth our first rounder, obviously, and he is worth more than our pick in the 40s. Unless we can get another pick this deal is about as fair as it's going to get.
  6. That sounds about right to me. A first rounder was overs and a third rounder is probably a touch low. We are going to get something decent for Howe and I can see Melksham contributing just as much, if not more, than Howe has so it's a fair deal in that context.
  7. We would all like to pair up our top picks and land a big fish mate, but the reality is that most, if not all, are off the table. Guys like Hartlett and Parker have either re-signed or signalled an intention to do so, while others like Dangerfield and Treloar have said they want to play at other clubs. If there is no big fish out there this year then the club needs to pour it's energy into improving the list in the best way possible so we are well placed in 2016 and 2017 to make a play for a bigger name. If there is nothing out there this year then there isn't much we can do about it.
  8. I'll be honest, that article was the highlight of my day. Let me have the little things in peace Nasher...
  9. I'll be honest - that article gave me a boner.
  10. He didn't say we would trade him, just that if one of the above offers came up we might consider it.
  11. Sydney have, potentially, done everyone else in the league a favour. If Buddy continues to be a flop and it hurts the Swans financially through their salary cap then there are 17 other clubs who won't make the same mistakes they have.
  12. Hold your horses though mate, Henrietta Lumbago was on here not long ago saying he knows some girl who rates him, and therefore most Bomber supporters don't want him to go! I can't believe this turn of events!!
  13. Oh well... it will be up to the club and it's coaching team to prove everyone wrong. I'm not convinced but I'd love him to succeed just to stick it up Bomber fans everywhere!
  14. So he is probably coming to us. I say probably as it hasn't been confirmed, but it's likely going off what we know. I'm not a huge fan but I'll back the club if, and it's a big IF, we can trade something that equals his value. Bombers will know our first rounder is too high and seek a second rounder... which I still think is too high. I'd give nothing more than a third rounder if possible, but the Bombers won't go for that. I'm hoping like hell we don't go overboard to get him.
  15. Some of those are mere speculation though, particularly Bennell, Aish and Selwood. It's been stated Selwood is keen to stay in WA. But I get your point. It seems players just want to either go home these days or go running to a premiership contender. It's pathetic. How soon are clubs going to overlook interstate talent and just draft or sign players from their own state? So many players want to 'go home' these days that clubs will overlook them and just draft players where that won't be a factor.
  16. Let's wait for the inevitable 'The Spencer White Thread' or 'The Arryn Siposs Thread' with some pathetic attempt at making them seem like great recruits for us next year. If anyone does starts those threads they deserve to be banned. I hope the mods are paying attention!
  17. I know Trav personally - we never made contact with him. Was always going to the Pies.
  18. It wouldn't surprise me to see Hunt delisted as well. Pedersen is 50/50 for me, while I think they will persist with Toumpas. Terlich and M. Jones will hopefully be cut or traded for picks we won't even use, which will free up more room. The club made the 4 obvious delistings and will probably sit back and wait to see the market before making more.
  19. Can you check your sources to see if it's true though, mate? Just don't go asking anyone from our board though. Ask another clubs.
  20. I'll have whatever the Bombers are smoking.
  21. And? He isn't rated by most Bombers supporters either. And agreeing with STMJ is hardly surprising, we know you want to marry him. It's so lovely to see And temper, temper HL. No need to get snarky. I'm shaking in my boots at the prospect of him succeeding and you bringing up old posts. However will I get through the day? If he comes to Melbourne and goes on to have a good career then that's fantastic. What Melbourne fan wouldn't want to be proved wrong in that case? It's sad to see you get so excited about the prospect of proving someone wrong though. What a life you lead.
  22. I'm not surprised that we are overpaying... just that the player we choose to overpay is Melksham. Madness.
  23. When that list includes players like Dean Terlich, Matt Jones and Ro Bail... that's saying something...
  24. His position on this is so ridiculous that there isn't any going back so he has to stick to things like "Watts for Melksham". It's silly, I know.
