  1. Yeah great. My issue isn't with BBB, it's having a method of forward entries that doesn't allow our key forward to play to his strengths. I hope he gets plenty more kicks and we allow him to play to his potential, otherwise nothing will have changed.
  2. ...I don't understand why we recruited him then. If his forward craft is unsuited to our style, then why didn't we seek a player with the right attributes? Maybe with TMc in the side his role changes.
  3. Yep, wouldn't necessarily change the result but it would hopefully build depth and experience in the footy club overall which is equally important.
  4. I would prefer a top-shelf kpf than a ruck, but they seem to be in short supply.
  5. Like others, I'm devastated by this result but I didn't hold high hopes of progressing. We looked like world beaters after the first 10 games but either didn't play top sides or played decent sides that were out of form (Dogs, Suns, Bombers, Port, Giants, Tigers, Hawks, Saints, Eagles, North). After this we really struggled and it's no coincidence that we started playing the better sides.
  6. So often the long kick to two tall players in the forward pocket attracts a flotilla of opposition defenders and mids. Our forward entries are so predictable and we rarely mark the ball like this. Then when the ball is inevitably spoiled (or not marked), the forward line is so bloody crowded that our small forwards have nowhere to go due to the congestion. Unfortunately we get locked into the long bombs into the pocket because we play contest to contest football along the boundary centred around the tall targets of Gawn, LJ and sometimes BBB. Whether it's the gameplan or poor discipline, so many of our players are drawn to these contests and it seems to limit our inboard targets in transition. So what do we do? Kick to the next tall target along the wing...rinse, repeat until the last kick into the forward pocket. So bloody frustrating as a supporter seeing a side with so much quality going to waste as a result. It's interesting that we tend to be more expansive in our approach early in games (using the corridor, changing angles etc.) and it's no coincidence that we often take a decent lead into quarter time. It would be nice to continue using this approach but it tends to peter out midway through the second quarter. I can't see any good reasons why this occurs other than we resort to bombing it long when players tire and/or opposition pressure ramps up.
  7. Brown got clean hands to the ball so many times, he just cannot hold a mark.
  8. [censored] discipline has killed us two weeks in a row too.
  9. Haha, Petty forward now, [censored] me.
  10. Yep...and that's the difference.
  11. Burning opportunity after opportunity
  12. Any chance we can get in the forward half?
  13. That was sloppy Spargs
  14. Rivers just doesn't burst when he gets the footy, another one that constantly gets tackled.
  15. ...righto Goody, what now!!
  16. I don't need to watch this, we all know what's gonna happen.
  17. ANB, gets tackled more than any other Demons player without releasing the ball.
  18. This is like groundhog day, can't finish enough opportunities.
  19. Training drill going forward for the Lions there, just [censored].
  20. Wheels are falling off...again in the third.
  21. Back to the dump kick down the line...no composure when we break.
  22. Reasonable lead, probably should be more. Small forward pressure was good early on, but dropped substantially late in the first and during the second. Concerned for Trac, we should put him on ice if we're able to extend our lead. The middle of that second quarter was all Brisbane which coincided with Max's time on the bench.
  23. Maxy can barely hit the side of a barn on 8 out of 10 occassions, I don't get the point of it tbh.
