I don't agree we are getting lower crowds. As far as I can tell, the dogs game had the highest ever H&A attendance between the two clubs, Essendon games tend to get between high-30k and low 50k so 44k is well within the range. As for GWS, 2016 and 2018 were higher but yesterday's attendance beats every other game (just) including 2019. Given it's a night game during Easter, I don't think that's a bad result.

Carlton best 6 as good as anyone in the league. The drop off to the bottom 10 in their 22 is absolutely frightening though

Shows we don't bid on Muppets - both Heeney and Mills are A+ players though we ended up with Petracca and Oliver which was amazing.

Heeney is as good as Toby Greene but without the brain fades, and 10x as good as De Goey

I think Tomlinson is stiff - being dropped as a key defender after a game where we conceded 36 (36!) points interstate, many of which were in junk time, is pretty rough.

Clearly enjoying not having to play 3rd/4th tall. Casboult has been very handy as well - limited player but doesn't lack effort

Cats style looks better this year - they should really be 4-0 but threw it away against Sydney. Dogs and lions are dangerous, swans and Carlton look pretty decent. Big drop off after them. Having said that, we are proper favourites and deservedly so.

I think the difference is Carlton have underlying quality in their top 8-10, but fall away horribly from 16. They would have been a finals side last year with even a borderline competent coach. Collingwood just have a very ordinary list.
