  1. Umps have forgotten the htb rule.
  2. Two umps and they still get it wrong.
  3. Always been a back pusher too.
  4. Ha ha Hawkins. He's always whining.
  5. Do we want Geelong to win. Ewww ?
  6. I'm not sure it is tolerated by most. Maybe a few [censored] commentators. I don't want to trivalise the current violent attacks on women in this country but I'm sure most men are disgusted by them. I will argue the judicial system isn't as concerned as much given the poor decisions and light sentences. But Im certainly angry about them , as are most of mates.
  7. Also as you mentioned if we need to sort out our fwd line. It's a pretty big headache at the moment. Thankfully we have found an excellent new component in Disco there but Petty is a real worry. Calls for Casey but I don't think he'll be dropped. Apparently Bbb has struggled at Casey. And for some reason Jvrs form isn't as good as it was last year. Is now the time to play Fullerton? I mean he can't really offer less than the two talls in TP and BN. And we'll get some ruck work thrown in. Our mids will sort themselves out. I think they have been down in general play but the three you named are champions of the game and will dominate again. Of this I'm sure. Except maybe for Sparrow but I don't think we have anyone to replace him with. I'd maybe make Woey the sub and give Laurie a game who impressed for the first time in a limited run. As for our lions game sluggish effort I can understand that being from fatigue but the tigers game with a substantial break from the bye doesn't equate. Unless the club are simply training to the max. How else can one explain quite a few of the leagues top rated players butcher like they did? This cats game is a huge one for us. Hard to feel confident though.
  8. As others have mentioned, the next two games will be the ideal measurement for where this club is at. I believe we have reason to be concerned. The game pies v dons looked like a different league. But if there's one thing that has changed about our club in the last few years is their never say die attitude. Maybe we will come roaring back. And if by chance we win the next two, I think we will definitely be top four and a certain flag favorite again.
  9. Great analysis DZ. As for Tmac, I think he's been a revelation down back again and stays. He butchered it a few times v the tigers but almost who didn't. Petty to Casey.
  10. I guess the cats game is going to reveal a lot then.
  11. I agree with our last two performances being off. But I do give credit to the two games we won in Adelaide. It was, to be fair an unbelievable effort over there. Sadly I think those wins took their toll. And as for the tigers game maybe we over trained in the interim or something. Because despite doubling the tigers score I haven't seen this team fumble and turn it over so much for eons. Hopefully as Bbo said a simple aberration. I'm worried about Petty but I guess stoked about Turner .
  12. I take on Binman' s stats about the quality of centre clearances. The ccs weren't the issue for me. I thought the midfield problem was generally their lack of impact in general play. Often when they did get the ball ( and statistically they were all down on disposals) it was the errant disposal. If it wasn't for our backline it could have been a very different story.
  13. When will my hatred of Cwood ever be rewarded?
  14. Can't be any worst than Petty. That's a no brainier. And we get some ruck skills thrown in. It's now or never with Fullerton. I mean normally Petty would get the benefit of the doubt if he'd played a few bad ones. But they were more than bad I'm afraid. He's a proven quality player that either fluked a couple of very good forward games and or suffering from a clear lack of pre season conditioning. It's tempting to put him in the backline but Tmac deserves to stay.
  15. Not tall enough up forward for me but I don't see what options we have after Petty's performances.
  16. Some here believe Billings was very good. Probably a good ten minutes in the third helped us but I thought his use of the ball for the rest was poor.
  17. You didn't mention our handballs which for me were at least just as bad. Players handballed like the pill like it was ticking inside. Honestly looked like many didn't want it or take responsibility with it. So many handballs just went up in the air and were intercepted or when they did find a player it was usually one in a more precarious position. Often done by a seasoned player too. There were too many instances at times when a player wasn't really looking in the right direction as the he attempted handball. Yes we are struggling to find a working forward line once again. How Fritta, Petty and Jvr got away with laying a total of 3 tackles between them v the lions. The shining star of last night at least was Turner. But our midfield is the most pressing issue at the min. It's been flat now for two weeks. Prior to that it was struggling to win clearances. And all of Maxy's great tap work was sharked by the opposition. Excluding Oliver who has had genuine injuries,( I thought he was ok), Viney wasn't sighted, Tracca only had a couple of cameos and Sparrow was or is rather the proverbial bridesmaid. Ultimately the sloppiness seemed contagious and begs the question of why. This is a team that just bagged two scalps in Adelaide Although the celebrations of those two wins was perhaps a tad too strong because we have clearly lost sight of the big picture since. But again there were over a dozen comprehensive flag 21 players on the track last night so it begs the question WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED. Im putting this out to all the seasoned and genuine knowledgeable posters of the game because I'm seriously baffled. And with all due respect please don't say we doubled their score because we were terrible. Many of our errant kicks were from no pressure acts by the opposition. Those couple of just poor out of bounds on the full and direct kicks to opposite players standing by their lonesome are evidence of a sub par performance. A good thing Richmond are just shot. How can we confidently face the cats next week? Sorry to dump this on you Binners. But I just want an attempted no nonsense fair critique. I think it's very naive not to be concerned after that in terms of us getting to a top four spot. To quote a line from that iconic Oz movie .." Tell em their dreaming." Maybe I should change my moniker to don't make me angrier. Cheers.
  18. Interesting though that our backline is still one of the strongest around despite those outs you mentioned. It's our lack of depth on the middle and forward.....I would drop Sparrow but there is nobody to replace him with. I'd drop Jvr and Petty but again....
  19. I imagine I'm not alone in feeling very flat after we doubled a teams score in a big crowd game.
  20. From my admittedly vague memories as a youngster, it seemed that veterans like my pop from WW1 were afforded much more respect. My mom and dad would always serve him and my great Uncle Roy first at Sunday family dinners and festivals like Christmas etcetera. Not sure if was a custom or just gratitude but the deference is certainly remembered. Edit. Went to the morning service today at a memorial on Austinmer beach Nsw. ....on the Pacific coast 100 mins sth of Sydney. Quite haunting standing on the beach with three hundred others listening to the last post in the early morning light. I also allowed my sleepless mind to imagine having to go to war. I'll be honest the thought of it scared me to my core. More so the idea of my son being conscripted. I feel sorry for the current events in Europe. I'll also admit that I didn't know every WW1 serviceman volunteered. Over 400, 000 of them. Some even lied about their age. Having mentioned the level of respect my parents had, I mention my morning attendance because I was surprised how many young people were there. Lots of families with young kids but a fair few sleepy eyed teenagers and 20 somethings that I wouldn't think new much about it all. Very encouraging to see kids like that brace the clock and conditions to commerate the courageous men and women who have served this bloody great country. The reverence for them is still very much alive today. Also thanks very much to those who have shared stories here. Some beautiful but of course some devastating ones as well. I guess there really is no happy war story even for those who returned.
  21. It was woeful because we all know that we can do better than that. To see stars and reputable players kick and handball like many of them did was horrible. Don't agree with Dunstall often but he referred to our team as in a malaise. Although we played better in the last we still looked off. Let's face it, if it was a top eight team the scores would have been reversed. This is a top four team of the last three years. I honestly don't understand how we can play like we have in the previous two games. But last night was much worse than the lions game. How do players like Tracc, Viney and even Lever and Max just kick under no pressure straight to opposite players? I thought Oliver was good despite a few hack kicks. At least he got the ball. Max. Always solid The backline saved us big time. And wowee what a gem we have in Turner. I'm genuinely interested in views as to how we were so bad. The handballing at times was so errant it looked as if nobody wanted the ball. There were over a dozen premiership players from three years ago . It's hard to explain. An anomaly that maybe can't be explained ? You have a good football brain BBO....what happened?
