Caro: Are the Demons the Real Deal in 2021?
leave it to deever replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Please dont let the media talk us up. Its a conspiracy. Works all the time.? Media ban for all players to be enforced asap. -
Great post Chf. Im not worried about our backline. It will stand up. Jetta will finally show us why hes still there. If Hunt can surprise us then... May and co will keep performing. Especially Rivers. Not worried about the midfield either. I doubt you can keep both Trac and Oliver from their best 2 games in a row. Besides Jv is hitting his strides. Maybe Anb gets rotated. Hes playing his best footy. Will our fotwards kick a big score? Kozzie cant do it all. Tmac will have to stand up. Fritta to continue his form. Gawn more time in the forward line. Spargo hopefully with 2 or 3. Jones a little time there as well and we should be alright. Besides it aint kardinia park its our home ground. The space will help us. Dees by 5 goals.

The Melbourne player with the league’s highest work rate

And then the Afl. -
So you have marked him down for 8 in game 4. No problem.?
-
Now to be replaced with the joyful exclamation of.... PICKETT!
-
And it was clever as it suited toby g style of play...especially againsy May.

Well called Andre the giant could not have marked in those conditions. I think gws had 14 players inside our fwd 50 in the first. He improved later on in other parts of the ground. Im not convinced we would have won the other games without him. I also think Tommy is a confidence player and needs to get involved early on to keep him going mentally. I may be wrong but he appeared down on himself after the game. He has the skills and has proved beyond doubt in the 1st 2 games he has not lost them. Perhaps start him on the wing and move him to full fwd in the 2nd.

Wow. What a game this is. A chance to be 4 zip. Lets face it the Cats are ripe for the taking. Boy no Dangerfield makes a big difference. Is hawkins who has always hurt us losing his edge. Will May nullify him? 1 more minute of play and hawks would have gone home with the Easter eggs. My concern is Jettas lack of form. I miss Hibberd. Has been a champion for us. But I guess its not a like for like swap. I really want Jets to turn things around because he has been one of our greatest players. Sparrow is the only other question mark. I have no clue though because I would have dropped Hunt after round one and thought Goody was poor playing him as a defender. We are 3 zip .....the club will make the right call and I think they will leave things be.

Last 2 years have highlighted our dysfunctional forward line especially our lack of crumbers. Aside from the love for Kozzie, Anb and Spargo are starting to make a significant contribution especially their tackling. Anbs first goal was a ripper. Spargo works very hard.
-
He will but sometimes players gain strength by bulking up in the gym and lose a little of tgeir speed and tank. Its great to have him in patches in the midfield but the forward line is his true possie. His uncanny sense of where the posts are, his ability to quickly turn and kick and his not going to ground or if he does he gets up quickly and acceleration make him the perfect small forward.

Yeh tx for that image.

Go home bt.

Game.

Hunts on fire.

Come on Cats bring this one home so I can apply the strange logic that a win here will make you less motivated next week.

Who would have thought?

I think there is much more self belief amongst the players. Dees of old would have folded against a gws start like that. -

I know Richmond were poor on the weekend but imagine if they were missing Lynch and riewoldt. Cant wait to see Brown and Weid back. Esoecially an open fwd line with Kozzie hanging around it. ? -
Lets be honest....How many of us thought we would be 3 zip after that pre season dogs game and our 2 key forwards out? Whats changed?
-
Jetta for Hibberd would be the only one for me.
-
Dont want the cats to be 3 and 1 against us. But boy its painful having to support them. Especially against hawthorn.
-
It was good to have Max up fwd. Oliver there too was a good call but he just kicked poorly. With fwds out I hope Max gets more time there until they are back.
-
MAX, Langdon, Kossie, Hunt, Viney and fritta for turning his kicking around. A shout out to Anb and Spargo who have made a difference with their fwd pressure all year. It really was an awesome game by Max who after missing a dead set cert goal early in tge game put it out of his mind and totally smashed the rest of the game. Hunts efforts were huge. Most have been calling for him to be dropped ....his performance came from....I dont know where. Langdon is just Mr get the job done, week in week out. Without Oliver and Trac dominating like last week I think its a positive we can still win and double a teams scoring shots. A final shoutout to Gus who was solid. Worked very hard. Constantly puts his body on the line and made a significant contribution last night.

Good post. Id also like to bang on about the umpiring again. Was sub par. Not even with gws players dropping the knees....several 50m were not given and gws got away with several blocks. Was one of those quirks to match our poor goal kicking...gws were luckily the exact opposite. Gws at 2 love were on the ropes and came out all guns blazing. Toby was lit up and we had nobody to stop him. After the first qrt we reset like last week and totally dominated. Take away the poor goal shooting ( props to Fritta) and it WAS a 10 GOAL WIN on an interstate ground. Go dees. We also know Kossies efforrs last week were not him playing a starring role. He is a star.
