I just remembered how much I hate Port supporters. I say this a lot but I think I really mean it tonight. I have never wanted to win a game as much as this. And I hope that maggot from tge Crows game isnt around. And please let us win the first qrt. -

Thanks Brownie. I felt sorry for Fritta because you are correct ...at times he had three defenders to battle against. The other bonus is even though bbb is a leading fwd he is still tall enough with a good leap that can stop contested marking inside our 50 and allow our crumbers to get some action. -

Our poor starts are very strange and add undue pressure. Is it game plan or just lack of intensity? There is no logical explanation for it to happen so often but Goody needs to fix it somehow. A motivational coach and some heavy metal music.....Not sure. Clearly not switched on enough in many starts. Would love to know why its happening and how to fix it. Goodys certainly no Barrassi or Clarkson but someone needs to give the lads a rap over the knuckles five mins before bounce. Maybe some boxing drills or the New Zealand start? -
I actually agree. Five would be highly unlikely. What I am hoping for is that rather than the oppo defence dancing the ball out so easily., bbb will take tge odd big grab or bring it to ground for our smalls. I also hope that unlike the last two games Fritta and Tmac will have less pressure on them, enabling them to impact the scoreboard more. But, you never know what a proven star( and he is a star) can do, fit or unfit , in form or out of. He is certainly a smokey and woe the oppo team thay doesnt see him as a threat. His height alone, the way we have been bombing it fwd for someone like Spargo to take a mark, makes me sigh with relief. And that having said, if by chance he does boot five, then our season certainly looks more promising. Either way, his inclusion is an improvement on last weeks fwd line and the week before.

The way we have bombed into our fwd line Id give bbb instructions and a small not to step outside of our fwd fifty arc. In fact, stay as close to the goal square as possible. Fritta can cover the pockets and Dogga and tmac can do what they please. Bbb is a champion of the game. Despite last year, no defender relishes the prospect of playing on him as he has towelled most of the best. Congrats to Goody for making the change. -
A five goal haul from bbb will suffice.

Can we at least win the first quarter. And Ive changed my mind about it being good to see the team come out smiling and joking before the game. That they are enjoying themselves. Now I want steel faces, death stares and attitude. They can laugh after we win from now on. -

Momentum. Its part of what helped us get all those wins in a row. Lose and we slip down the ladder. Self doubt. More pressure. More changes. Less cohesion. I understand where you are comimg from but footy just doesnt seem to go that way. At least not our team? -

Well at least Goody has acknowledged our fwd line is broken. Will be a tough game . Win this and we are proven contenders again. Cant say Im confident. -
CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide

Tx SONS I rate Luke higher than Max as a fwd but Lj while hitting the goals more is better he is not there yet. But he was hardly ever fwd. He also needs to hold onto more marks. I like him up fwd for his ground skills but he if wants to play next to Max then we very much need someone else other than poor Fritta to mark or stop the oppo from easily doing so. I dont know why Goody allowed Lj so much freedom. Max and Luke if playing up the ground should have provided options at decent intervals around the ground and not so near one another or worse spoil each other. We have some good crumbers in Kozzie and Spargo but they didnt get many chances. Are we really that diasadvantaged leaving out Viney or Sparrow for another tall? And yes our delivery inside was poor but it was certainly amplified by not having a tall stay back and force the pill to ground. I dont even care if its not bbb. Just get someone in. -
CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide

Just watched the replay. The best change we can make is an operation to have the cojoined twins in Gawn and Jackson seperated. The game time those two were next to each other in marking comps was very high. And it wasnt in our fwd line. So effectively we played with two fwds. Tmac played well but mostly up the grouund as a roving chf which left Friita as our only tall Make that one fwd.....and he is not that tall. Gws defence never had it so easy. The irony of bombing it in like we had a chorus line of big men waiting to take a grab. -
Been that way for a while now.

We have the best defence in the comp but our clearances and lack of scoring with poor entry, poor kicking and lack of options needs to be fixed asap if we want a top four. We have won some great games but failed to bury anyone. Our percentage isnt great at 12.3. If we lose to Port in Adelaide we will be in some trouble given the games after that. I think its fair to say if we make top four from here it will be a very good effort. Next Thursday is a must win. The positive is we seem to play well when are backs are against the wall.

Good point. And smashing the odd team. Its a bad time to be losing momentum but there is still time to change.
-
I think we will rally. It will be tough but I think at least we will turn up and give it our all. If the club makes the necessary changes and we play our best. We can win. Its is a season defining game.

It sounded like he would at his presser but I think he will reluctantly make some changes. Others will be advising him to I reckon and Im sure Goody will see we need a tall. To be painfully obvious, our smalls cant crumb what tall defenders mark or punch to their players. Fritta is a good player but hes not big or strong enough to play full forward. He is great on a lead but the manner in which it was delivered at times didnt help. Im not even against Daw if the club is adamant bbbs not up to it I dont want to revisit weid. Whats the scoop on Mitch Brown? Is there anyone else? Should Jackson spend less time off the ball? Or should Tmac just stay in the square if he doesnt?

We are the real deal as shown by the teams we have beaten. Sadly a few players have dropped in form and our selection has been off.
