PREGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
Bowey will struggle to get back in due to Salo. Tommo was simply excellent, so you can't drop him. Oliver obviously comes back in. From Monday's game , Oliver comes back in for Spargo. As for Petty's return, it's a tough call, if he plays forward. Perhaps Sparrow. It hinges upon Smith playing some even better footy. Assuming he does and this new combo works then I guess Bowey, Sparrow and Spartacus out seems tough but shows we have players in good nick and some decent depth. I guess it depends on who we play, if Bowser gets a look in.

Maybe not completely. ( That tackle of his was wonderful though) But he could go close to replicating a small crumbing role. Perhaps we have been too top heavy with smalls anyway. Spargo, Kozzie and Chandler haven't really been kicking heaps of goals lately. I also think Fritta crumbs very well so do we really need all the others?

That was a real added bonus to see some glimpses of Smith play some very good footy. His speed was impressive. Also seeing Salo back to his best reminded me how important a player his is for our success. Tommo back to his old form , ( he semed bigger and stronger), was some more icing on the game. With Tommo playing like that, it would definitely allow Petty to continue up fwd, where in his last game, he did very well. It's not to say I don't want Joel Smith playing foward. It would just make a huge difference to our problematic forward line to have Smith and hopefully Bbb vying for a spot. Good call by Goody to give him a run there. Maybe he was our last resort, but he certainly gets another crack.

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
I get highly paranoid with umpires at Collingwood games. No coincidence that they got the last 3 free kicks and Viney's push in the back was ignored to get the filth within a kick. But heh, that really added some more spice to the meal. Just enough glimmer of hope for them to be let down again. An 8 point win.

I don't either. I do believe the kardinia home advantage has made the cats more successful over the years than if they had the G as a base. They have an amazing win ratio there. But good luck to them. Other interstate clubs fare well at their home grounds. I do find that us pencilled in to play their every year is not fair to us when other clubs never go there. And a Thursday night game makes for unrealistic travel expectations for Mfc supporters. Any way, it's a mute point as I think we will give them a good dusting. Max to do what Max does to the Gfc.

Fair dinkum. There were 3 blatant holding the ball non calls made. On each of those occasions the Pies player had the ball for an eternity. If the umpires really want to stop dangerous tackles then these htbs should be called to avoid the chance of a player finally slinging someone out of frustration.

Great post Layzie. The Pies fans booing Grundy at every turn and clapping his missed goal truly shows why their called the filth. Its my understanding the poor bloke wanted to stay at cfc . J7st strange. That and big Cox having a crack at Trac after the siren makes this win just so sweet. And yes Jack stood tall big time and played his best one of the year. Happy birthday for tomorrow.

I think poor Tom's body is just letting him down. Petty was fantastic in his last game up forward so hopefully he comes back to the role. Especially since Tommo is playing like he is. Smith was good in the 2nd half. I like his speed and athleticism. Brings a defenders skills and pressure into our forward line. Hopefully Bbb to can play into some good form, so we will have a number of options. Jvr continues to show some great consistency and is getting better each game.

Anb had a very quiet first half. Hardly involved except for his tackle count which is always high. Tbh I think he's had a lacklustre season for him. He certainly rallied in the second. I dont think Anb is a great footballer but I reckon he gives his absolute all every game and never question his passion and commitment. Nice running to connect with Kozzies kick and good conversion against a trend of shockers.

Always a very tough gig down at Kardinia. Buoyed by a big win and new confidence, we are certainly a chance. Hopefully Oliver and Bowser back but not sure who comes out for the latter. Tommo must stay and I think Smith gets another go on his 2nd half efforts. Normal conditions would suggest Kozzie or Spargo gets dropped. Pickett however is a superstar so he stays. He's bound to play a blinder soon. Just hasn't been the same since suspended for some reason. Perhaps we just text all the cats players a nice pic of Maxy during the week. I hope the umpiring improves. The htb non decisions yesterday were a very poor effort. The dangerous tackle call was strange. It's comical after a whistle call to see confused players see which way the call will go lately. Great to have Oliver back. Who comes out is a tough call. Will be tough for Bowser to come back in after such a great win.
