Sounds like a day well planned.  I just hope no one spits on you as you walk through the car park singing “its a grand old flag” after the game!

Haha! I’ll get the mrs to hide around the corner with a water spray bottle to capture the experience!

  2. I’m all chips in emotionally today for a Dees win. High risk, high reward.
This year was going to be my 5yo girls’ first real game at the G; for obvious reasons this won’t happen. So I’ve earmarked today’s high-stakes match against the Filth as our ‘going to the footy day’. Shortly we will construct the ‘Demons Train’ out of 3 cardboard boxes to emulate catching the train to Jolimont. The girls have their footy jumpers on already and colour coordinated outfits. They even made little scarves out of tissue ribbons for their cuddly toys.
My darling partner, who had no interest in footy, will be the ‘pie lady’, kindly providing home made beef & mushroom pies and pork & sage sausage rolls for dinner at half time. Bless.
The kids are blindly confident, nothing less than victory could create emotional turmoil right on bed time. Or elation. I am confident, not blindly, rather knowing that we have the goods to win today and I’ll tuck the girls in tonight with a smile knowing we’ve beaten the Old Enemy!

My emotional contingency in the event of defeat will be the comfort of pies and snag rolls in my tummy!

PS: my old man (Grandpa) is a Filth supporter, adding to the pressure...

Stephenson ... Thomas  .... Elliott  ... such annoying worms.

    Worms; excellent descriptive word.
I can’t put my finger on it, but Stephenson looks like a cartoon villain of some sort with his withering bottle-blonde pouf of hair that looks like it will fall out with any more bleaching.

What they are saying down at Demonland

    • I’m putting $1000 on any of the Crows Debutants getting the NAB rising star this week.
    • Goodwin has flagged we'll be better this week. Let's see if selection backs him up.
    • Persisting with Jones is a complete waste. Trade him back to retirement for peanuts.
    • We are in diabolical trouble. Game plan from St.Bernadettes year 3 marks up playbook.
    • I think a Bottom 4 season and Goodwin is shown the door IMO. We need a full clean out of coaches and Bartlett needs to throw HUGE coin at a proper coaching setup.
    • It’s just hit me. The realisation that the best player at our club could be a 35yo mother of two, if we had one.
    • Invite someone back to the club as a mentor for Goodwin.
    • If anyone in the media, social media or anywhere else asks again why TMac was dropped, please refer them to this week's performance.
    • Has Lever played in Adelaide against the Crows yet?
    • Last weeks embarrassment has finally made the club really go into 'we're crap' mode.
    • Prediction : Lever to "run through" Tex at some point.
    • Crows making EIGHT(!) changes. Two debutants.
    • Gerard and Robbo completely ignore Demons.
    • If Melbourne actually won would would anyone care?
    • We are ripe for the picking. Nil all draw?
    • Excellent, at least 3 of those players dropped should never ever play a game for the club again.

GAME DAY oh yeah baby. Got a pastrami on the smoker and a Ruben sandwich (if you don't know look it up) for dinner, gotta try stay of the cans long enough though. 4 am start tomorrow isn't going to be fun, especially getting through the permit zone into NSW...

I find myself jumping on the Game Day thread early to see what Josh is smoking/slow cooking/BBQing- good stuff!

Seeing down the bottom the phone number for Beyond Blue you have to think he took his own life. So sad, only a few years older than me and with so much of life still ahead of him. ?

Yeah it seems that way, Pates.
I’m also 38, quite jarring news.
Thoughts to the Tuck family and friends.
