Smith on Cox was a total mismatch we need 2 key backs, one is not enough especially when Oscar puts in a shocker like that.

Oscar must have been injured, sat the whole last qtr on the bench..

Bartel he's a piece of work that pip squeak. Did you hear his comments the other week "Everyone is saying its Melbourne's turn to win a premiership, i don't know why everyone is saying it, it's not their turn" or words that effect.

He's a yes man no opinions of his own.

Bartel’s comments were spot on, it’s no ones turn, it’s earnt.

I start very few threads, in fact i think this is probably only my 2nd or 3rd in my time on DL.

But i am really excited about a new innovation on afl.com called stats pro. Well to be precise excited about the video element where you can watch the edited video of every players involvements for each game from the start of 2017.

The involvements match the stats collected on afl stats pro, so spoils, one percenters, score involvements, frees against, kicks, marks, clangers etc.

You can watch every involvement or just highlights. But you can also select specific involvements (which are often part of clusters of involvements).

Unfortunately it is only for telstra mobile customers who have live pass but i wanted to flag it those who have live pass.

It is brilliant and a fascinating way to analyse how individual players perform. Genuinely new way to absorb the game and will definetley allow viewrs to assess players more objectively.

Ive watched the video for about 8 of the players from the bombers game. Addictive.

One player that was interesting was tyson. His game was much better than i haf thought it was. Got caught a couple of times and a couple of clangers but jeez he was involved in alot of good clearances and scoring chains.

Weideman was another whise game was better than i had thought (albeit still not fantastic). He looks quite a natural ruck man.

    Has anyone used this yet?

Is it on the app? How do you use / find it?

in fairness I don't think you will see much if any complaint about Casey's overall performance on this thread. There was a comment on the game plan by one or two that is a different matter.

Just very few positives unfortunately and those that were there have been mentioned by several posters.

With a short turnaround from the Richmond game to the Essendon game I would think making sure we have a large fit squad is part of the clubs plan hence so many not playing at Casey today.

  5. I’ve never disliked a player like I do Bugg, he has very little skill and poor decision making, he had a rare good outing last week, he is inconsistent and not up to the level required.

I think it’s out Maynard, Wagner, Bugg and Pederson for Harmes ANB TMac and ether Viney or Lewis

    Agree with this.

Bugg a vfl player, no skill

    Hannan, Trac, Brayshaw the positives.

Stretch tried hard but not sure he’s in the best 22.

Overall first qtr pressure was great, dropped off after qtr time, need to keep that going for longer.

  7. Went to the game last night, thought it was much better live than watching it on tv.

Harmes & Melksham Best players for mine, think Harmes is set for a big year.

Tommy Mac will have a great year up forward also.

Trac has set himself for a good season.

Bugg & Stretch are not in the best 22.

Anything Gary Lyon has to say about the MFC I take with a massive handful of salt.

I don’t, he is still connected within the Club and his “mail” is generally pretty good...

What is with everyone's beef with Casey Fields?

Yes the weather can affect games but the Wind isn't as bad as Ballarat, Williamstown, Werribee or Sandy Point

Plus outside the AFL grounds it's probably the best playing surface in the state, for those that haven't been there for a few years the City has invested tonnes of cash into making the playing surface unreal to play on

Melbourne/Casey have a huge home ground advantage there so why not play a game against say a Gold Coast or Brisbane which won't draw a huge crowd, if a decent size grandstand is built?

If it means giving up our 2 home games interstate I would be all for it, not the worst idea I’ve heard...
