Really irresponsible coverage imo, could lead to some bad outcomes over here in terms of crowd behaviour. Could not post Saturday night. Lived in Perth since 2000, haven't seen Melbourne win since 2004 in the rain against Freo. Sat at Subiaco in the rain, when it was cold, when it was hot, at the City end with the sun in your eyes and couldn't see the far end of the ground. Put up with drunks and moronic West Coast and Fremantle supporters. One drunk wanted to fight Mrs Nomed a few years ago because she cheered a Dee's goal (we left the ground). Watched year after year of massive disparities in free kick counts, head duckers and thugs roughing up weak Melbourne teams. Lost carton after carton of beers and packets of TIm Tams. And then this game...... We beat the crowd! We beat the umpires! We beat the Eagles!

Complete mystery isn't it....wasn't even called high contact yet is sanctioned 1 week. Surely questions should be asked by the umpiring panel about the performance on the day and it should be acknowledged as an error?

Agree, biggestred, there seems to be a particular sort of anti-social behavior here in WA, where the knuckle draggers feel free to act like this,most likely because most of the time there is no consequences for it. Its best described when they say "whatta ya gonna do about it!" because they know they will get away scot free, and if you object, you possibly you get hurt by them. Unless you are bigger and uglier there is no respect shown. Aggression plus booze is not a good mixture

I don't think it was crowd influence, they were very quiet on Saturday night at the ground, just crap umpiring. Also enjoyed watching that Eagles player run all the way from HF flank across the top of the centre square (about 30 meters) without bouncing the ball.....with the umpire running alongside him. My theory is the percieved "low value" games get the less experience "L" plate umpires

That was last year "the day of the duck" West Coast dropped their knees in every tackle and the umpires paid a high free every single time. This helped WC to the 8 goal first quarter in that game, free count of 20 plus to 2 at half time. AFL changed interpretation after other clubs screamed about it

And I think unusually made mistakes by foot - missed passes and a goal when he is normally a reliable kick. I thought he had a crack today, but wonder if he is carrying an ankle injury, tape or a needle might explain the kicking problems.

Failed to clear the goal square, turned the ball over allowing Bonpemtelli to score. Earlier in the day the maggot umpire paid a deliberate rushed against Bail, this clearly rattled the backline, so they didn't rush a behind for the rest of the day, this "interpretation" cost us 3 goals during the day, the first against Bail to give Stringer a goal, the second was a turn over goal to Hunter (??) and then Frawley's effort. Umpiring was strange to say the least with several unusual decisions, but the rushed one was clearly in the defences heads, and they lacked composure in close for the rest of the day.
