Interestingly for home and away games kids that can enter free do so without a ticket so aren’t counted in the attendance figures. Not sure if it’s the same for finals. My 5yo has just wandered trough the gate 7 times this year without any form of ticket

Rich v Grelong got 95k last year first game of finals, I’m going to say 69k. I rekon there are a bunch of dees supporters who are not members who will come out of the woodwork. We got 37k to Melb v GWS and only about 1k of those were GWS fans. If we get similar numbers to the final, that only leaves 33k Geelong fans to rock up to hit 69k. Now that I think of it I reckon we are more likely to see 70k+ Plus Geelong have 63k members. Add 63k to 44k =107k, if 70% turn up that’s over 70k

My thoughts are we should flick one of Flipper or King, use the place for an additional back or mid, use our other talls like Weid, TMac, Hogan etc as the chop out ruck. We proved last year when Gawn was injured we don’t need a ruckman to win games (win/loss stats from last year were similar either way). If you have a high quality mid group they can read an opposition ruck well enough to win you games. Oh course we would always prefer Gawn playing, but it’s not life or death.

Just to bring things back to the original topic for a moment. Heard something which may be of interest here. I can’t reveal the source but you will just have to trust me that it’s solid (if not I don’t really care), it seems that the coach and a number of leadership players from WC have been hounding/niggling Gaff about not making a decision at training and during games for about the last 4 weeks, and Gaff is said to be very uncomfortable about this. So much so that his parents have been traveling to the games to provide support for him as he is said the be really struggling with it. No mention of whether this is making him want to leave or not, so make of it what you will. If I was in the same boat I would be more inclined to leave under those circumstances.

Love a conspiracy theory and I’m neither agreeing or disagreeing with you, but in the majoriy of the close games we’ve lost, we had the chance to win it but threw that opportunity away through silly mistakes/lack of composure, inaccurate goal kicking or poor kicking into our forward 50. Totally agree that farcical umpiring decisions have hurt us, but only because we allowed ourselves to be in a position to lose in the first place. For me, correcting the above will be the next step in our journey, as this year only Rich, Coll and Hawthorn were clearly better than us on the day. All the other games we had our chances and blew them. Richmond were very similar the years leading up to their premiership. The future is bright.

Yes we have, both north and Adelaide were top 8 when we beat them earlier in the season. We haven’t beaten a CURRENT top 8 side though.

True, but they have to be prepared to pay what they offer because we could easily just so no thanks after that rather than offer a pick

So we would not have to trade anything, unless Eagles are willing to match our offer at which point it would be upto us if we wanted to throw a trade into the mix which I would image we would not/could not. It all comes down to whether the Eagles can or want to match out offer. If they don’t, trading picks doesn’t come into it.

I think it’s been mentioned before, but I don’t believe you have to trade anything for a restricted free agent (just have to make him an offer which WC can elect to match thus effectively locking him in at WC) or unrestricted free agent. (I could be wrong though?)

And beat 0 top 8 teams both when he was in and out of the side. if you look at ladder position at the time the game was played we won 1 game against top 8 sides with him and out of the team. And lost to 2 top 8 teams when he was in and out of the team. So on all measures there is no difference
