  1. We are on a very different page, if something isn't banned then it isn't unfair as it is available for everyone to use. Otherwise you could say Sandilands has an unfair advantage over big max because he has a better diet!
  2. Why wouldn't you be? If it wasn't banned it is legal and they have done nothing wrong. I fail to see the logic there at all.
  3. They are banned under S0 if they have not been approved for therapeutic use anywhere in the world. This drug had been approved in various eastern block countries so was not covered by S0. Why the media keep saying it had not been approved by the US FDA is beyond me. It is an irrelevance as far as it being banned by WADA (as it had been approved elsewhere) and only holds a tiny relevance as she lived the US, again though that is a legal matter for the FDA to worry about not WADA. Just more sensationalist clap trap from a media who don't bother to really understand the code or what is going on, AGAIN!
  4. It would be very hard to go down the fine route as many, if not most of the athletes under the WADA code are amateur athletes who make very little money from competing. Many of them have sponsors who may cover their expenses but not much more. I know a gold medalist from Sydney who walked away from the games in debt due to the expense of competing, wouldnt seem right to fine them lots of money for PED use which may well bankrupt them when it would barely be a drop in the ocean for a maria. All you achieve then is to make sport about who ever is richest, it is already on its way to that unfortunately.
  5. No no no no no, 93 wasn't about what they took, it was about how much they paid!
  6. Increased endurance and rehab after exercise, where have i heard that before?
  7. I think Dennis retiring at the end of the year may have something to do with it too. He is too popular for the AFL to move on (in terms of silently remove from the media landscape) and he has no need for his accreditation as of the end of the season. It would not surprise me if he gets a quiet little word in his ear about repeating the comments though.
  8. Finally someone in AFL land who gets it. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/essendon-doesnt-deserve-to-play-on-anzac-day-says-dennis-cometti/news-story/edde9e67cd1565ba50afb3a003df759c In short, Dennis Commetti saying the dons shouldn't even be playing this year, let alone playing on ANZAC day! About time someone spoke out. Just wait for all the apologists to start up about how they are hard done by and Dennis is the devil incarnate! Always did like that bloke.
  9. What about a few good men, i am sure there would have been afew at the club at the time, surely. The 'you can't handle the truth' scene could be Dank screaming at McDevitt and aimed at 90% of the people of AFL land, you would need the MCG to fit them all in.
  10. Sorry i missed it, if anyone knows a link to it can they post it?
  11. How about 'we know what you did one summer?' Or even 'every heart beat true, no suppliments required' Or 'see the dees 'shootin up' the ladder' then in little letters 'the legal way'
  12. Something like 'TB or not TB?, we know the answer!'
  13. But if no one from the opposition goes every week that makes a pretty good stand. Problem is that so many in the AFL community don't care if sport is drug free and really have no idea what is going on. At the very least everyone should turn their back on the brazen support of taking drugs that will go on.
  14. Supporting clean sport is most important. That is why it is very hard to support the AFL.
  15. I would if it was our home game and we got the money. Not going to put money in their pocket. This whole thing and the AFL have peed me of to the point I may just give up on the sport full stop.
  16. What a surprise that neither article is bering reporting the Essendon rag, sorry, Herald Sun!
  17. Saw a comment on the hun about this that said the Melbourne fans should all stand as well but turn our backs. I wont be there as I will not support the dons in any way but it would be great to see us make the stand.
  18. Wring part of their code. That comes under tge illicit drug policy they came up with which is where they say they are world leaders. What they should do is simple. The AFL code could go as follows. 'All players are bound by the rules as described in the WADA code'. Then put in a bit about hearings and appeals and the code is written.
  19. Most of the AFL world seem to live in a land where the entire WADA code is new thing, it is entirely unjust, and it should stick to catching real cheats like the Chinese swimmers, the same ones we all despise because their coaches doped them to the eyeballs. Hang on, that sounds a bit familiar.
  20. Depends on how much of the AFL cool aid you have drunk. To anyone who doesnt buy their crap it is good news.
  21. Good point, It would be interesting to see which had more votes for the pollies, Olympics or the AFL. After all it is only votes they are interested in.
  22. Fairly sure it is in legislation that they only support sports that are signed up to the WADA code. They may find a way around this but it would be very stupid of the government to change the legislation as it is part of being a nation that supports WADA. Surely even our government aren't stupid enough to poke the bear when non compliance from a nation rules out Olympic participation?
  23. If I was ASADA and it came to that I would pull the rug from out under the AFL and state they are no longer signatories to the code as they are in continual breach of the code. That would stuff the AFL as they lose all the Government funds that come their way for development etc. If that did happen it would be a very very dark day for the AFL.
  24. You really shouldn't post things like this, you may well give them ideas and they are silly enough to go through with them!
