  1. Yep, Clint summed it up. Fritsch is a 21 year old who already shows courage in the air. Jack runs around with the intensity of an indoor cat and has virtually no impact on the game.
  2. Talia Easily
  3. Lever played alongside an All Australian key defender in Talia. Talia is a better defender than Tom McDonald.
  4. Frawley is a $%#@carter.
  5. Who's our matchup for Jacob Townsend ? He's kicked 24 goals in his last 9 games and was assigned Lever on GF day. He's 187cm. Our defensive matchups will be fascinating. When Martin is going forward he's playing full-forward and Riewoldt roams high. Who takes Martin when he's at FF ? Clearly not Oscar or Frost. He's way too fast for the former and way too smart for the latter. Hunt is the same size as Martin with the same sort of speed. Is it him ? No, as we lose his drive and he's never really played the super tight role. Is it Hibberd, or Vince ? We don't want to lose Hibberd's drive either. Maybe it's Vince. Wagner is the right size, but he'd make mince meat of Wagner. Does Wagner keep his spot and go to Townsend ? is Oscar agile enough to handle Riewoldt ? Is Frost smart enough and tight enough to take Riewoldt ? He's athletic enough. But Riewoldt would have a field day. Who's Oscar's matchup in this game ? Does he take Townsend, who tends to play deep, or do they back him in against Riewoldt ? It's not as simple as just dropping players. Matchups and form will dictate selection.
  6. I assume the Casey team is finalised today ?
  7. I agree with the consensus. Play him forward. The idea of him with ball in hand in defence is a thing of nightmares.
  8. You can't read much other than who's going to be on the extended bench. Obviously Hunt comes in and one of Stretch and Balic look like they'll be in. Possibly both or one the emergency.
  9. Thankfully, "feelings" have no relevance.
  10. Favoured team gets thrashed by 11 goals after not putting up a whimper and the news is we "can't be trusted". What a revelation. It took unsurpassed genius levels to work that one out. Btw, Steve, I'm glad I'm permanently occupying a place in your mind. I intend for that to not change.
  11. In his grand total of one game after his preseason ? Let's wait a while before we start dissecting his attributes.
  12. How about we let him string half a dozen games in a row ?
  13. This is news to me.
  14. This is news to me.
  15. On a rethink... Frost isn't up to it and the Tiges only play one tall, so he goes. Hopefully forever. Pedersen may play, but I'd rather Weideman. Tom McDonald would be playing if he was fit and Hogan would benefit from the structure of having another tall. Hunt is a no brainer against the quick Tiges. Harmes hasn't come on as expected after a strong summer. Out. I like Fritsch and reckon he'll be a very good player, but they may want to get Hannan in. If so, I can potentially see that swap. As was said to me today, Lewis is finished, but they won't drop him. The thought being that if they did, at 32, he might not get back. So they won't. Changes: IN: Tyson, Hunt, Weideman OUT: BUGG, Frost, Harmes

    Bugg

Notwithstanding my unhealthy hate for this fellow, Bugg being selected is good for my Catholic soul. It's the punishment I deserve. I'm thinking of changing my username to ProBugg.
  17. In: Tyson, Hunt, Hannan Out: Harmes, Melksham and that **** Bugg
  18. Port forum: "Sorry but Watts is no good. There is a reason Melbs wanted him out. Adds nothing defensively and is about as strong as a wet piece of paper." "Watts lazy." "Wats scared." Didn't take long.
  19. Glad you asked. Obvious question is obvious, but let me say this. I respect Cameron Pedersen for what he's achieved in football. I have no respect for Jack Watts the footballer. Follow ?
  20. The only Brownlow votes in his 78 game career.
  21. Yeah. His percentage game time will be interesting.
  22. As I said, "He's obviously match fit now (to at least get selected), but his two way running needs to get much much better. One questions whether he's been doing all of the extras that some players do." He's always at the rear during the preseason running sessions. There's a reason Petracca is now running up the front and Brayshaw is bringing up the rear. And it has to be application. Maybe you just don't pay attention when you're at training.
