  1. Meh, could not care less one way or the other. Nicknames come and go, premierships stay forever!! You can call them both "Lucy" and it wouldn't bother me. If they bring us a flag or two, I will forever be in "Lucy's" debt.
  2. Sigh..........no Brock. Looks like we got a good deal with Gysberts!
  3. Salopek- Yes Mitch Morton- No
  4. I look forward to this clash..............
  5. Ratten is just throwing bouquets before a game, and age old tactic used to over hype the opposition to make their win (or loss) relevant. At least he acknowledged us unlike Bomber "I need about 100 years of sleep to remove the bags from under my eyes" Thompson
  6. The W and L column does not define our season. It is how our kids come along, and how we push contenders that defines our season. Winning respect back is key- and so far the dees have taken some big strides in doing just that this season.
  7. I remember listening to the radio on draft night. Pick 11 was called out and I did a double take towards the radio. What????? Looks like the dees knew exactly what they were after. And he is certainly now a player with boundless potential at this level. I wonder just how far he will develop.
  8. I watched Grimes turn water into wine once- true story. He can also walk on water. #16 is poised to be a future captain of this club. He is a terrific young player, and can show signs on waning in some contests. Keep him down back for the remainder of the season, and use the guts to develop the "Fab Four"- Gys, Scul, Tren, McK.
  9. Poor bloke seems to find a way to get injured. Hopefully he can get back quickly. He needs to keep on developing.
  10. Some of the best sides going can't beat them at Skilled. We were never going to win. 54 points sucks, but we where outclassed by them....for the last time. Next year the tables will turn. Cats are solid, but are due for a slight fall. Next year we rise.
  11. He will wish he was sleeping when Ablett walks out for the gold coast next year. That is one nightmare that is going to shake them to the core.....can't f%$king wait!
  12. They will all crawl back into their hole when Geelong bottom out at the wrong time and spend the next decade finishing outside the 8. They sure do look good now the cats, but the light at the end of that tunnel is beginning to fade.
  13. Could have still used wheels this year (would have been a huge help V WC on LeCras). We have to move on, and hopefully we can unearth antoher tough quick back line player to take his place.
  14. Geelong is not a winnable game on our fixture. Resting the kids after a testing Darwin game is the best move for everyone. If the dees had smashed Port last week and taken the foot off the pedal in the 4th we would be seeing maybe 2 of the 3 engine room trio facing the Cats. Warnock is needed, and I think Wonna will be given some time to find form. Gys coming in is a huge plus for our development. If he plays well he might just hold onto his spot.
  15. We need the cash. If it means the club survives, keep selling games to Darwin.
  16. Gawn 6-8 weeks and we are at round 10. Based on this assessment, the earliest he will be up and running at Casey will be round 16. Does anyone else get the feeling we will be seeing a Gawn debut game next year? He might squeeze in for a late 2-3, but this season is a wash for the big fella.
  17. The word "Teenager" could be a massive problem. This may mean jail time depending on the age of that teenager, and the age of the player(s) involved. On the flip side, if the player has played 100 games and she has a boy he will qualify for the father son....(kidding!) These boys need to wake up to themselves. I understand they are sought after by young women. They are wealthy, have fame and have a tonne of swagger. But the truth is they have the same social and moral obligations as the rest of us. And a little stuff up like this is going to cost them big time.
  18. Skill first for me. I have seen some great athletes move to football in my time. Can run rings around most, but cannot hit a target to save themselves.
  19. Even blind freddy can tell you the dees have the best young back line in the AFL. The dees back line looks the goods, and it will only be a matter of time before the midfield is polished a little further, and the front 6 start causing problems.
  20. Ahh, the beauty of the mute button.
  21. Ahh, Scotty Chisolm. Always freaked me out when he went near the footy. Had some skills, but made decisions like a drunken sailor!
  22. Um, when did the AFL become netball? Unlucky Beamer, unlucky. Can use a week to rest up, then come back fiercer than ever.
  23. Cheers for the link!!!
  24. Morton = Gun. If he can keep growing up, and bulking out he will become a massive handful for most teams in the comp. Love having him back on the paddock.
  25. Leadership and experience are things we lack. We got them for free in the PSD with MacDonald. enough said. These savvy vets help the kids develop quicker. We owe him a great thanks regardless of how long he plays here.
