  1. The Kennedy situation isn't too dissimilar to Beams. Some Family reasons to come home and a substantial contract on the table.
  2. It would seem unfathomable to the public that Kennedy would be traded by Sydney But, for reasons I wont go in to, I've just had conformation they're close. We have a substantial offer on the table.
  3. Let me just say, Beams wants out of pies full stop. His preference is Brisbane but collingwood couldn't care less. I'm not saying he will definitely be a demon (like Goodwin) but I can tell you we are into him in a big way. Mitch Clark left Brisbane once because he wanted to go home......
  4. Posted by PartyBoy on Yesterday, 02:45 AM Looking at our picks - 2,3,23, Lumumba(Clark pick), Stretch, Jetta - it makes me wonder how exciting draft night could be if we hold onto them. I know our first round selections in recent times have been an absolute debacle, and you could argue it is has been a result of the coach, development, team success, injury, poaching and just plain old not good enough. Besides articles and You Tube, Mcartin, Petracca, Brayshaw and Wright are completely unknown to me. I haven't seen any of them play and therefor cannot write with much conviction. However, with Melbourne in great hands, should we invest in the draft and build a club around this crop which will give us a crack at a flag in 5 years. We could follow the Hawthorn of 2004 Roughy/Buddy & Collingwood of 2005 Thomas/Pendlebury. Premierships in 2008 and 2010 respectively End of the day, as good as a Dangerfield is, he hasn't made Adelaide a top 4 side. It may mean Roosy doesn't see many wins in his remaining 2 years, but it just may be the formula to win the ultimate prize.
  5. If only we had the luxury of 25 year old stars! I was merely saying they can "help" - Both Brayshaw and Petracca have size. 187cm and 86kg / 92kg respectively. Different to the Watts/Morton/Toumpas/Trengove/Scully etc etc
  6. IF St Kilda take Petracca with pick 1, why would GWS want picks 2 or 3? Trading Shiel for another tall? I don't think so.
  7. I love your optimism Ron, but I just can't see GWS trading another young gun. Bad for the culture. Plus Shiel is a jet.
  8. Brayshaw and Petracca can help us win games next year. It just means we might have sustained success in 3 years and on wards.

  10. Welcome aboard TH. please note: you won't be taken seriously until you've posted 10,000 times. Dangerfield to the Hawks is my tip,
  11. In this particular thread, the horses mouth.
  12. We've spoken to Dangerfield and basically offered him an open check book. Sadly, he just doesn't want to come to MFC. The End
  13. I try and give the heads up on a few things and all you're worried about is whether I knew before the fact or not. Goodwin was a done deal a looooong time ago... Dangerfield is moving, but not to Melbourne. Batter up
  14. Dangerfield will not be at Melbourne next year, the year after, or the year after that. He is however, on the move....
  15. Well if your sincere doubts are true, we're trying to convince Frawley to stay on less money that what's been offered by 3 of the top 4 sides. Wow, we have no chance!
  16. The story so far - Frawley sends a message to his best mate saying "get me out of here" - Rivers forwards it on to Scott, the negotiations begin. Geelong have an offer in the vicinity of 450k - 500k over 5 years on the table. Melbourne 550k - 600k 5 years Freo - 500k - 550k 7 Years. Those figures show he will be taking a pay cut to have "success" at Geelong. His manager is using the Fremantle offer as leverage but history will show, Geelong don't pay overs. Could this end up a Dustin Martin scenario and he stays with Melbourne after all?
  17. Well it looks like PartyBoy will live to write another day. Irrelevant now, but it wouldn't have been announced today had it not been for the Adelaide AND impending Gold Coast Fiasco.
  18. Don't think anyone saw this coming... This is my view on it - Over 10 days ago Goodwin and MFC had verbally agreed on the senior assistant position. Even so he'd told Essendon he was moving on.. Meanwhile, Sanderson was offering up for trade the senior players, Dangerfield and Tex, as he thought the current list wasn't capable of making top 4. This upset a lot of the leadership group, Ricciuto and the board. Fearing backlash from the supporters, the only way to stop Sando was to to sack him. No doubt Goodwin has been approached by AFC some time this week and asked if he would be interested in the role. It's by no means a done deal, but he's now got a big decision make. The sacking of Sanderson has thrown a massive spanner in the works. So much so, only yesterday, Roos was jetting off to Hawaii with Goodwin and Dangerfield a fait accompli
  19. What about a Bernie Vince scenario - last minute meeting and convincing from a coach... Considering how important this time of year is, I am surprised he would be heading o/s Hey, he should've just gone 6 weeks ago.
