I know. I just wouldn’t risk his calves, especially after doing one a couple months ago. Hopefully some intra club matches can be played soon

Media trying to hype up a Bennell early return but we would be mad to play him without a prolonged base of full training under his belt. He hasn’t played for years. If he trains fully and plays out practice matches over a couple of months then try him
  6. If Harley plays 70+ games for us I will become a religious man and pray to the great Burgess daily
  7. I can’t think of a better place to find out you’ve been sacked
  8. No way it will have the same status as other seasons. By mid June, it will be good if we get can through 10+ games and a couple of finals. We won't know how it will be judged until afterwards but it feels more like an experiment than a season at the moment. I'd settle for some entertainment and a few wins
  9. Have to say I have some level of excitement at this news. my life is so dull at the moment, I'd tune in to watch them train! even if they are fairly meaningless games, I'll be tuning in for some entertainment

So no points, draft picks or big fine for the Crows. Tom Browne at his finest! one coach misses 6 weeks. that's it.

Surely you realise we are in a state of emergency until 11th May so it is not possible they get the green light in april. might as well just pick any random date for round 2. it means little

More arrogance from the AFL. What's the point in announcing a return date? The AFL do not control if the season commences. Maybe wait until more than 2 people are allowed to exercise together? which might be 4 weeks or longer

I am not getting my hopes up about the season. Although Victoria is tracking well and things locally could start up soonish, interstate flights too soon would be a bad move. unless we kick the 2 sydney teams out of the comp which I fully support ?
  14. Victoria is down to 325 active cases and are only seeing roughly 10 new cases per day. great work Vics! keep this up and hopefully things can get back on track soon
  15. the point is - to say the number if cases we have NOW is 1200+ is incorrect. There are 480 active cases The medical experts provide the data. Then the government and media play it how they want
  16. TheAge article title: "From Babies to patients in their 90's, there are now 1241 COVID cases in Victoria" Incorrect, there are 480 cases, the rest have recovered. any chance of giving us the full picture?
  17. ~1200 cases in Victoria. more than half have recovered. The curve is flattening for sure (although don't tell the general public). I reckon Andrews has done pretty well in a tough spot. hopefully things will be turn around for us soon!
  18. If only it were this simple. We will need to make hard calls soon. if we relax restrictions it will lead to some people dying but we can't stay like this forever and how long with a vaccine take? I'm glad we are so isolated in Australia, we should be able to manage this (with some damage caused) over time. Staying in lockdown all year is not the answer in my opinion
  19. An excellent article. The hysteria in the media is destructive and dangerous https://www.theaustralian.com.au/inquirer/national-coronavirus-hysteria-will-lead-to-disproportionate-suffering/news-story/56f887b32023c30efcc5f51346c92051?fbclid=IwAR0ze7YvyZppg8NPg1YLgrJ4UFeF3WkdwGAuMBna6JCiAZUWj3CfiqOpsJA

yeah i wouldnt be against them setting up some games or some sort of once-off comp. once they don't try to imply this is a real GF or a real flag i'm OK with it.
  21. DubDee replied to Big Col's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Breaking News - The AFL will consider any half arsed idea to get some money out of a season which is clearly done and dusted. winning a 'flag' under these bizarre scenarios would not mean anything
  22. DubDee replied to Big Col's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't believe taking money from individuals is the best way to cope with this crisis. We need a broader strategy
  23. DubDee replied to Big Col's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
if they performing their role/earning their money, I don't see why not.

It Was Just one post. Doesn’t mean I’m not considering the broader picture. The players deserve to be considered in this like everyone and everything else. It’s their livelihood

Would anyone on here on a fixed contract take 79% pay cut? Contracts are there for a reason. To provide job security especially in a career that on average lasts 4 years. The PA are there to represent the best interests of the playing group and that is what they are doing. extreme circumstances for sure but I’m trying to see things from the player’s perspective
